Ch 1 : REBORN

On the 24th floor of a skyscraper, a beautiful woman in her twenties was lying in a king-size bed.

She could be misunderstood for a beauty come from heaven to the mundane world. She had a small oval-shaped face with skin white like snow, doll-like eyes that are now closed, a small narrow and pointy nose and a not too small mouth with full lips, soft and watery.

She was sticking her knees out of the blanket whilst lying on the side with a hand in front of her face while the other under the pillow.

The blanket was only covering half of her body revealing her slender legs and arms. Just by watching the skin that was exposed to the sun you could imagine how creamy and soft it would be.

In that position with her half-covered and half-revealed skin if it was seen by a man, he would have already gone crazy by lust wanting to reveal what's really under the blanket but unable of doing anything fearing of ruining an angel's sleep.

But the sleeping beauty didn't notice that a strange gas was coming up from the floor and before she could notice it, an explosion occurred destroying that beautiful scenery and killing the angel that was still asleep and still oblivious of what had just happened.

[An explosion just occurred on the Jin Skyscraper on the 23rd floor causing a total of 12 injured and 1 death. The survivors of the 23rd floor said that they accidentally burned the kitchen and the fire expanded causing an explosion. Fortunately, the called for help just in time and successfully escaped from danger. But a dead body was found on the 24th floor. The body belonged to a young woman and investigators said it was that of a woman named Ming Yue, 22 years old. She was...]

The news was all saying about her death while on the other hand, the woman in question still asleep was going to be reborn.

In a hall devoid of light where the only ray of light was a sleeping soul floating in the middle of the air. Before it was a man whose figure was hidden in the darkness, seated on a throne made of skulls emanating an ominous aura.

He looked at the sleeping soul and asked at his assistant standing at his side that was sweating hardly from agitation.

"Why is she here?"

"Re-reporting to Your Majesty, sh-she died from an ex-explosion." The assistant said. He wasn't stuttering and trembling because of the pressure that the man seated on the throne had but because of the lone sleeping soul before of him.

"And why is she still sleeping?" The man on the chair asked again to the assistant.

"Wh-when she died, she wa-was asleep..." His voice became lower and lower when he was answering fearing to awaken the one he never wanted to meet again neither in his dreams.

The Hell King, looking at her sleeping soul, only sighed and made her be reborn without letting her choose what she wanted to be reborn into. You also can't blame him, it's not all his fault, he just knew very well that when she's asleep no one can wake her up so he could only help her choosing.

But then she can't blame him for what he chose just for her~

After choosing she was sent to the gate where souls will be reborn into creatures that just formed and will come to the world.

While she slept, she didn't know what was happening to her but she felt tired and she felt as if she returned into the womb of a mother. The warm feeling made her only want to continue sleeping and never wake up.

9 months passed and Ming Yue still didn't give signs of waking up from her slumber.

In these months Ming Yue unconsciously continued to absorb spiritual power around her and cultivate increasing her cultivation ranks.

Half a month have passed again. Today the sky became dark and cloudy as if a storm was going to come.

RUMBLEE!!

Suddenly the sound of thunder could be heard above a cottage.

"Your Majesty please endure a little longer! Push more! The little fox's head can already be seen! Don't give up and push harder!"

"It's coming out! One last push! A little more!"

RUMBLEEEE!!

Another thunder could be heard but this time the sound was louder and stronger than the last one.

Inside the cottage, a woman was helping another woman during the process of giving birth.

The woman pregnant on the bed was pale from blood loss and was bathed with sweat as her disheveled hair was sticking to her skin because of the sweat but one could still see her celestial beauty and the sweat that was falling only added more charm.

She was now enduring and shouting from the pain that was coming from all her body especially form her lower half and to lessen the pain she was clenching the blankets so tight that her hands had lost all color.

Just when she couldn't resist anymore the voice of the other woman was heard.

"It's out! You did it, Your Majesty!" She shouted in happiness attracting the attention of the woman that was almost collapsing.

Pain. This was what Ming Yue was feeling. Woken up from the pain she unconsciously started crying.

RUMBLEEEEEE!!

Just at this time, the third thunder was heard, and it was even louder and stronger than the second one.

And with the last thunder, the storm also disappeared leaving behind only a clear blue sky.

Inside the cottage, the gaze of the gorgeous woman on the bed was landed on the crying little white fox cub, which was all stained with blood, with love and tenderness.

The other woman that appeared to be the servant cleaned the fox cub with hot water and then gave it to the woman that was still on the bed.

"It's a little princess, Your Majesty. Congratulations!"

Ming Yue finally stopped crying, but she suddenly felt a wave of tiredness and went back to sleep in the arms of her new mother.

At this moment the skies suddenly shined and a piece of melodious music coming from above with little angels made of light celebrating and dancing from happiness.

"What's happening?!" In a city not too far away from the cottage in the forest, when people that saw this scene, they kneeled in reverence with faces full of hope and happiness.

"It must be the Gods that are blessing our Empire!"

"Long live the Gods! Long live His Majesty, the Emperor!"

This scene was like a present from the heavens and was remembered by many even after hundreds of years, but nobody knew the real reason for this anomaly in the sky.

And when the women in the cottage also saw this, they had a smile on their faces because they knew what this anomaly meant.

Suddenly they felt another presence and were about to prepare for battle but before they could do anything the woman in waiting was already killed.

Thud!

Her lifeless body fell to the cold floor causing a dull, heavy sound resounds in the room and alerting the other woman with the fox cub in her embrace.

As she turned around, she saw an assassin standing behind the corpse wearing tight black clothes that covered all of his body and only a pair of emotionless eyes could be seen as if he was a living machine only doing his missions.

The woman in waiting's eyes were bulging out as she couldn't believe that she just died like that. She was the only one that followed their Queen here if she died then what would happen to the now weak Queen and their newborn Princess?

It wasn't her fault for not noticing the assassin's approach, his cultivation was higher than hers as he silently approached her from behind while erasing his presence. He stabbed through the carotid arteries then cut her the vocal cords so she couldn't scream as an endless amount of blood started flowing out from a small slit on her throat.

The mother of the little white fox cub was about to escape but she was too tired, and she couldn't move an inch.

Hearing the steps of the assassin and the dripping of the blood, the woman felt a fear she never felt before. She didn't fear death, but she feared her daughter's death. She would rather save her even if it meant losing her life.

She looked at the still sleeping cub and, in her eyes, there was only reluctance and love. She kissed the little white fox cub's forehead and looked at the assassin with determination.

She created layers of barriers with the small amount of strength that remained to have time to prepare another chant, but it was of no use. The assassin broke them easily without giving her time and took the little fox with one hand while on the other one was the dagger that still had traces of blood.

"Noooooo!" She shouted in desperation. Her eyes became red from the fear and without thinking of the consequences, she accelerated the chant without caring for the aftermaths.

The assassin only coldly glanced at her and gave a vital blow to the woman. She spat blood covering with a hand her heart because of the pain from the blow he gave and the aftermaths from the chant.

He didn't give her time to recover some energy and used his dagger to kill the fox cub in his hand.

The woman was watching this scene happen before her eyes, but she couldn't do anything anymore, she could only watch her daughter being killed.

Thinking of this the eyes of the woman became redder and redder from anger, hatred, worry, and despair.

Seeing the dagger nearer and nearer her beloved daughter, she used all her remaining energy in the attempt to save her daughter but still, she didn't succeed, she was still too weak in that condition.

"NOOOOO!!!!!" Shouting out of despair she reached out her hand to grab her daughter.

But just when the assassin was about to kill it, the white fox cub that was still sleeping suddenly opened its eyes. They were a pair of purple eyes that could enchant all the world making all things pale in comparison.

The eyes of the little fox made the assassin pause for a moment but before he could continue what he was doing he only saw that the little fox cub's eyes shined of purple gold color and he disappeared from the world soundlessly without leaving a single trace.

Then the little white fox cub closed again its eyes as if it never woke up and fell from the air because the assassin that was holding her died, but just before it fell a pair of pale hands took it in its embrace.

The woman caught the falling fox into her embrace, but she also fell onto the floor, but even if she was falling she still tightly hugged the little fox fearing it to be hurt. Then she looked at the sleeping white fox cub and sighed in relief but soon she spat blood again.

Her face was pale from blood loss after the birth and from the internal injuries she just suffered but she didn't regret it.

She looked at the little fox with love and tenderness as if she was looking at another person from it. "Ming Yu, she's our daughter, I was able to protect her. I won't be able to see you again, but I will leave my bracelet to her hoping that one day you could find her."

Her voice was filled with yearning and reluctance. She knows she can't live for long. Her injuries are too grave and can't be healed.

She kissed one last time at her beloved daughter. She knows that she can't stay here for long. They might have already found this place because of the thunders.

They were following them all along the way but just when she was about to give birth, they found shelter but because the thunders and the anomaly in the sky, they must have ordered someone to come here to check this place.

The woman created again layers of barriers but this time it was only on the little white fox cub. She closed her eyes again and prepared another complex chant and this time it was successful.

Eight tails that also represented the amount of her spiritual power appeared behind her and formed a protective circle around them.

She looked one last time at her daughter as gave her bracelet and a jade pendant to her, with written on: [明玥*] Then a light enveloped them but the woman was becoming transparent and disappearing while the little fox cub was being teleported into another place.

*it's her name written in Chinese: Ming (明) Yue (玥)

She observed as her daughter was being teleported before she also disappeared from this world.

What she just used was a chant that only foxes of the royal family of the Nine-Tailed foxes could do.

They specialize in space magic and can teleport themselves wherever they want but it needs an enormous amount of spiritual power that only Nine-Tailed foxes had, but even if she was of the royal family of the Nine-Tailed foxes she was still an Eight-Tailed fox and if someone who doesn't have enough spiritual power tries this chant then their vital energy would be depleted, causing their death and the teleported one would be teleported into an unknown place.

She couldn't do anything other than risk for her daughter. At least she would still have a chance of surviving.

You must be safe; you must survive. You are the only direct descendant of our clan and only you can inherit the throne, becoming all mystical beasts' only Empress. You must find your father, his name is Ming Yu, don't forget it. Mommy can't stay with you anymore, but you must be strong and survive, I'll always stay by your side.

The woman's voice could be heard in the room, fading into nothingness.

The ears of the little fox slightly twitched.

Who is speaking? What is she saying? Ming Yu? Who is he?
