Spiritual Backlash

5 months later…

Celes, a 7-month-old baby now, was drenched in sweat as he laid on the ground in an angel pose.

"Haa! I finally reached the Spiritual Juvenile stage…wait it's called the Spiritual Apprentice stage amongst the humans is it not? or at least that's what I learnt from the soul I just consumed who called himself the Great Sage." Slowly Celes turned to his right and got up and started walking home in deep thought. "Though to think that the human I consumed earlier was the strongest being in existence, he couldn't even match up to my weakened soul which has 1% of its former glory; Though what was even more astonishing was that he was not from this world, his original home planet seems to be known as earth, an existence without any spiritual energy and is advancing purely on science, but it's a shame that I only managed to get most of his information in the soul as his memories seem to be incomplete; Sigh! I guess I truly did become rusty." Having reached his destination, Celes stopped pondering any further on this topic and went inside. Everyday morning when the suns are at an angle of 5, 7 and 9 degrees, he would go out to train and be back an hour before sunset; as this is the only part of the day when his parents go out to work. After all, any human parent would freak out seeing their 7-month-old child cultivating the Apprentice stage. Celes went to his room and climbed into his crib, sat in the lotus posture and did a few breathing exercises, before concentrating on particular points in his body and chanting a mantra "Om kriim kalyai cha vidmahey…" after doing this for almost an hour, Celes started chanting a different mantra "Om bhur bhuva swaha …" for 1008 times before stopping.

"These really do work…huh!" Celes was still surprised, even after practicing for 5 months, this is because the above two methods were actually not from this world, it was something that the Great Sage brought over from earth, they improved his body and soul respectively. The first one focused on unlocking the potential of the chakra points in his body, thus enhancing virility, health, perception, senses, and control of his body. This alone would not be worth wasting time over; what convinced Celes to practice this method, was that in human body, the spiritual veins passed through the chakra points in the body, thus getting blocked by it in the process, thus when one unlocked their chakra points, they are also unlocking the full potential of their spiritual veins.

Though the second mantra was even more enticing to Celes. It actually refined and powered up his soul. Meaning this was a soul cultivation method, and one of the highest tier ones at that since one has to remember just how overbearing the armoured tiger's soul is as it could swallow Great Sage like one swallows air, but even this soul was benefited by the mantra.

"This truly is a jackpot. So even earth has some secrets…though that Great Sage truly is an idiot, not only ignoring these two techniques but also for thinking that this body contains Heavens' favoured spiritual veins hmph! What this body actually has is much more tyrannical…what it has is the Heavens encompassing spiritual veins. These veins can cultivate and store multiple types of energy, unlike others where only one type can be used at a time." Celes was so indulged in his thoughts that he failed to hear the creak of the house's door opening.

"What a tiring day it was!" Brian's voice filled with exhaustion could be heard from across the hall.

"Indeed! Now let me make dinn…Kyaa! Brian! Brian! Come here, fast!" Elina was about to lay down her groceries when she screamed for her husband to come.

"What is it! What happened?" Brian came running when he heard his wife scream. She never screams!

"Look…Look there…Celes… Celes is…" Elina started murmuring while pointing her right index finger at the crib.

"Celes? What happened to Celes? Where? How?" Brian looked around anxiously. "Was it the elders… if so I…." suddenly realizing that the elders might have a hand in this, Brian was overcome with anger.

"sooo~ cuuute!" Elina completed her sentence

"huh?"

"huh?"

Both were shocked at what the other said.

Looking at the other's perplexed faces for a moment, before bursting out laughing.

"Hahaha! Don't scare me like that lina~" said Brian calling her by a nickname he gave when they first started going out "My heart can't take it anymore"

"ahahaha! sorry, won't happen again…though don't you think Celes looks so adorable while he is trying to mimic you cultivating?" Elina said, still not able to take her eyes off of her son's cute figure.

"Yeah" agreed Brian "I have to accept though; had I not known he's just 7 months old, I really might have believed that he was actually meditating" surprised at how well his son mimicked his posture.

Little did they know that their son was actually meditating! at least until they started screaming.

Our good little Celes was meditating deeply, realizing that his parents were home only when he heard his mother scream. Thinking that he was caught in the act, he started devising ways to escape his predicament, when he heard the rest of the conversation. This angered him to the point of encountering a spiritual backlash.

Spiritual Backlash, a life-threatening phenomenon that occurs when a person's balance of emotions is thrown into turmoil while in deep meditation, a state where one tries to become one with nature, thus causing a part of their or their complete soul to lose shape and assimilate with nature forever.

Luckily, with his experience of more than a millennia, it was brought under control.

Though this a shame that will never be washed away. Him, one of the greatest existences, experiencing backlash due to some comments by his parents.

Only now did he realize how dangerous his parents can be.

"I guess my soul has been deeply damaged by the river of time. To think that just a random comment given by my parents caused so much turmoil. I'll have to be more careful the next time I meditate so that I don't experience backlash again." Celes sighed when he realized that he was losing his composure so easily due to his damaged soul.
