7 Divine cave

STEFAN

My heart skipped a beat as the dark magic disappeared in the next second. I hadn't learn to protect myself with the dark magic yet, so if I got caught in the Ivory temple, I knew I would definitely get killed for the second time.

I couldn't even bring myself to look around to know exactly where I had teleported to, my legs were just rooted to the ground as the traumatic memories of the night when I had been killed began flooding my head. Beads of sweat started forming on my head, and my body began shaking in fear of experiencing death for the second time. Would I even be able to control this cursed power if it eventually moved to stage two? Or would I just be a puppet in the hands of…

"Nice job!" A familiar voice snapped me out of my thoughts.

Slowly turning around, I finally noticed that where I was didn't look one bit like the Ivory temple. I was still at master Kendrick's temple, I hadn't even teleported up to ten meters from where I was previously standing.

Relief instantly washed all over me, as I collapsed to the ground. It was like all my strength had left me.

Master Kendrick chuckled as he walked up to me, "Stop being so melodramatic, you didn't even teleport that far."

"I was taught that for one to teleport, they had to think of the place they wanted teleport to, and when I closed my eyes, the only place I could think of was the ivory temple. I was scared thinking that I had actually teleported there." I explained to him

Hearing my explanation, master Kendrick's mouth formed an 'o' in surprise. "I see. That means you are not powerful enough to teleport that far. Five meters is the farthest you can teleport. I kind of expected more from the so called king of darkness." His tone turned to that of mock as he said the last line.

"I'm more than happy that your expectations aren't met." I said with a smirk, letting him know that I could care less about this stupid, and cursed powers.

HERA

The journey all the way to the divine cave wasn't a really smooth one. We faced hurdles here and there, and then we also had to stop for some food and water break.

But alas, we finally got to the divine cave. It looked nothing like it's name, it was horrendous to say the least. A total let down of my expectations.

I thought it would have a beautiful lake, or maybe shining crystals, but instead, it was dark and eerie. It was even hunted with insects, and worst of all, bats! I was a lover of nature, and the creatures in it, but for some reasons, I just didn't like bats, not one bit.

I had to take a deep breath, and say a silent prayer before I stepped into the cave. Curbing through the spider webs, that were in most corners of the cave, I advanced further into the cave.

The cave was so dark that I had to let myself glow in the dark, so I could at least see where I was stepping my foot. I made the light dull so I could save up enough energy for when it would be time for me to teleport back to the front of the cave, and also to teleport both Hera and me, and hopefully, the crystal ball, back home.

After walking for a while, I hesitantly relaxed my back against the wall of the cave to rest a bit, but my rest got cut short. The ground suddenly started trembling violently, it shook to the extent that rocks that were shaped like ice shards started falling from the top of the cave.

My already weakened legs soon became wobbly from the vibration, and I fell on my knees. My instincts started screaming at me to teleport, and I was about to do so, but something else happened.

The ground began to split into two. It happened so fast that I didn't even realize it until when I fell into the big hole on ground and landed in water. Water? What exactly was happening? Was it all just illusions? But the water feels so real.

Ridding my head of my thoughts, I could then see dry land ahead. I sighed in relief, and began swimming towards it. The more I swam, the farther it seemed, but I was adamant to reach there, even if it was the last thing I did.

At long last I reached the part of the cave where there was no water, and there it was, lying in the palms of a weird looking statue – the crystal ball!

I rushed to it with glee, and gingerly picked the crystal ball. "At long last!" I cried in joy, as I hugged the surprisingly light crystal ball to my chest.

A rippling sound of the water behind me then caught my attention, and as I turned around I saw two crocodiles emerging from the water. They both growled, and bellowed, as they took slow steps towards me.

Before they could get close enough to me, I quickly envisioned the entrance of the cave in my mind, and in split second, I had teleported together with the crystal ball to the entrance of the cave. That was close! I let out a sigh of relief, and ran to where I had tied Hera. I had to leave immediately, or who knew what would come for me next.

I untied Hera, and then immediately I thought of home, my magic enveloped me and everything I was touching too. Then together with Hera and the crystal ball, I teleported back to the stables at Ivory.

The guard I saw in the morning was still there, and my sudden appearance in front of the stables had startled the poor man.

"Uh.. Welcome back, my lady." He composed himself immediately, and greeted me.

I nodded at him, and handed Hera over to him, "Do take good care of her for me, please."

"As always, my lady." He replied, and I left for my quarters with the crystal ball hidden by my white cloak.

STEFAN

At long last, it was finally the time of the day I loved the most. The time to eat.

We had skipped breakfast all because of training, much to my dismay, but I endured and pulled through till it was time for lunch. But before that…

After we discovered I could teleport. Even if I couldn't go any farther than five meters. Master Kendrick decided to test for any other abilities that I possibly had, but there was nothing to show for it.

We went back inside, and I tried raising the shelves once again, but the powers refused to activate not matter how genuinely focused I was. Then I suddenly came up with a theory, since I'm supposed to be the king of darkness and destruction, then maybe the dark magic will most likely activate when I plan to destroy something.

I then looked around, and my eyes caught sight of the old lamp set by the bedside. I stretched forth my hand towards it, and not so surprisingly, it levitated and then it shattered to pieces in the next second.

I laughed and jumped in excitement as my theory had worked, but then, POW! Master Kendrick slapped me hard on the head. Not again!
