4 To the island

On hearing the news, people cheered and applauded in rejoice. They were relieved to find a place, where they can be free from wearing oxygen masks.

The Government announced that they were moving to ARI, on April 13. So, people got busy packing their stuffs and belongings.

They only had two days to get ready. So, all the youngsters in the country, celebrated and out busted to go to a new place. Eventhough the adults enjoyed the news, deep inside their heart they felt painful and heartbreaking to leave their amicable country. Atlise was seen hectic for those two days.

Clara visited Emily's house, as she was asked to help her pack up. So, Clara baked blue berry cheesecake, which was the favourite of Emily's mom. When Clara rang the doorbell, Emily's mom opened the door. She gave her a warm welcome by a sweet hug. Clara offered the cake to Emily's mom and waited for her reaction. As soon as she opened the box, she exclaimed with great excitement.

"My lovely Clara! Thank you so much. It's been days since I had cheesecakes. I can't wait to taste it", Emily's mom tasted the cake and got immersed in its taste.

"Oh my dear! Thank you again for this wonderful cake. I am very pleased with both how it looks and it's taste. You've made my day happy Clara", Emily's mom went on complimenting her.

Emily then took Clara to her room.

"Clara, you've done a very good job. It's all thanks to you, my mom would be happy the whole day", Emily thanked Clara, by hugging her.

After then, both began their work. Emily had a lot of stuffs to pack up, so it took a lot of time. While they both came to the end of packing, Emily then suddenly brought a big luggage. On seeing that, Clara breathed heavily...when she opened the luggage, Clara got stuck with amazement.

"Does his luggage contains full of cosmetic products, Emily? We've already packed enough makeover and skin care products. Why do you have too many cosmetics? How did you buy this during the disaster?", Clara asked her and sat stuck for a second. She was surprised to see a bag full of beauty products.

" From the day, I got a call to participate in Miss Atlise competition, I bought three or four product a month. In this manner, I bought a lot of products these years. I never thought I would buy this much in these years. You can't understand Clara. I'm not buying this for myself. I bought these from students who donated those money to charity", Emily explained to her in a casual way.

Clara advised her not to buy things that's beyond her need. Anyway, she praised her for helping out, people in need. Clara then, helped her to organise the luggage.

It was already a pretty evening. Clara stayed there for a cup of tea. To kill boredom, Clara asked the lovestory of Emily's parents. Soon after Emily's mom began narrating her love story, Emily and Clara started to laugh.

"I met him through an accident. One day, while I was out driving, a motor bike which came in a very high speed, hit my car. People rushed forward to help me. But I was not the one who got injured. The man in the high speed motor bike was in a pretty serious condition. Then I visited him in the hospital and likewise, the days went on. After being on good terms, we both understood each other. Later, we got married. Till now, I find myself amazed by his child like behaviour...." , Emily's mom continued to tell each and every funny moments in her life. For the whole night , the house was filled with their laughter.

April 13....

The Government arranged aircrafts and ships for the transport. People were divided into four batches for transportation. All the people gathered at the airport and the batch which arrived first was sent to ARI. All the animals, which were protected in a safe place in Atlise and the goods, altogether were sent in a cruise ship to the island.

With their family, Clara and Emily reached the airport. On the way to the airport, Clara's stomach hurt 'cause of Emily's non stop and continuous jokes.They were asked to sit in the waiting hall for awhile and so Clara and Emily sat together, while their parents sat with their neighborhood friends.

" Emily, please give some rest to your vocal chord. It's been in pain since morning. I'm the one who, praised the experts for inventing this advanced oxygen masks, but I regret it now," saying Clara leaned back at the chair .She had no energy to laugh nor to hear her speech anymore.

" Why are getting irritated Clara? Aren't you used to this? You know that I can't keep my mouth shut more than ten minutes. Thank god they invented speech recognition mask. If they haven't found it, half of our population might have gone insane, including me", Emily continued to talk even then, to irritate Clara even more.

(Note: The people of Atlise faced difficulty in communication. They were unable to speak to each other, while wearing O2 mask. So, the experts at the O'Brien's invented advanced mask with speech recognition facility. Pressing on the red button on their gas mask, people can speak and reply to each other.)

" Clara, look at the boy on your left, for so long he's been looking at me ", Emily tapped her shoulders and signalled her to see that boy, without his knowledge.

"He is not looking at you ",Clara looked behind and said "He's looking at the cute little girl behind you", Clara said to irritate her. Suddenly, that boy who had been looking at Emily got up and came towards both of 'em. Clara and Emily froze up for a while.

"Hi, my name is Mark. I've been looking at you for a while. You're kind of looking interesting and fun, to interact with. May I have your number..?", while saying this Mark came and sat next to Emily and waited for her reply with loving eyes . The sight of all the youngsters on the hall were on them. Emily smiled at him and gave her number to him.

That was the end of Clara's peace of mind. Emily then started acting like a abnormal person, she was excited, electrified, delighted , enlivened, exhilarated etc..etc..Those words from the boy stirred up happy feelings and she couldn't control herself. Clara was embarrassed by her behaviour and she hid her face with her bag.

Suddenly, a huge crowd gathered behind them. They were looking at something and the waiting room was noisy 'cause of them. This made Emily curious and she was eager to know what was happening there. When she got up, Clara stopped her saying that it's not safe. But Emily insisted that she wanted to go.

All of a sudden, while Emily was going near the crowd, people screamed and ran towards her in dreadful fear.

Unaware of the impending danger, Emily stood there astounded....
