The Bloody Wedding Reception

Lauren, who was sitting in the car, also let out a huge groan, "UGH why is the signal not working here anymore?" She continually tapped the keys on her phone to no avail.

Jiana had a bad feeling rising from her stomach, she couldn't tell what, but she instinctively knew something was very wrong. They had to keep moving.

Dragging her parents away, they began to walk on foot to the exit, only to be blocked by the amazonian masked attendants. They said, "We kindly ask that our guests return to the venue."

The bad feeling continued to grow and Jiana became more urgent, "No, we need to leave now."

However, her mom intervened and said, "No dear, we don't. Let these beautiful ladies bring us back in."

She didn't give Jiana a chance to protest and they were all guided by the attendants to a small cabin by the water. Her mom looked up at the attendant and said, "This isn't where we were before, why have you brought us here?"

The attendant merely smiled and bowed, before leaving.

Shrugging, Jiana's dad indifferently walked towards the cabin and opened the door. There were roughly 30 other people in the cabin, all of them were just as confused. Attendants in masks were sitting at every corner of the room, unmoving.

"What the f…" Lauren said out loud.

Their mother scolded her again, "Language."

They sat down in a group and waited. The ominous feeling Jiana felt before had reached its peak. She dearly wished she could drag her family out, but they simply wouldn't listen. Helpless, she sat down restlessly on the seat.

Suddenly, the t.v. in the room flickered to life and an image of the female masked amazonian standing at the top of the balcony reappeared. "Hello everyone. Some of you might recognize me, others of you might not. I am Mr. San's ex-wife, you can call me Tio. Today, all of you will enjoy some fun games as repayment for my dead child's life."

The video panned the wedding reception room they had just exited. The dance floor had become a river of blood and Mr. San's dead body could be seen at the center. Everyone in the cabin took a sharp breath as they saw this scene.

"Beneath your seats, you will see life packs. After you pick up your life pack, follow the red lines on the ground and make it to the top of the island. Before you ask me why you need to go, let me tell you that your meal contains a highly active drug that will kill you in 7 days if you don't get the antidote. No scientist around the world except myself has the antidote, I suggest you get going." Tio said the last line in a sing-songy voice.

"Also, if any of you are thinking of escaping, don't bother. We have completely surrounded the area and shut down the network. No one will come to save you. If you try to escape, we will be forced to end your life before the 7 day deadline."

Jiana's eyes narrowed. This was definitely the source of her bad feeling. Why had this happened and who were these people? She definitely wanted to know, but now was not the time. The most important thing at the moment was to survive, and the only way to do so was by obtaining the antidote.

Everyone else was still frozen in shock. Waving her hands in front of her family, she woke them up and ordered them to grab the life packs. Because the cabin was mostly vacant, she reminded them to each grab a few more. After putting them on, she ran out the room first. Realizing that she was still wearing those annoying 3 inch heels, she took them off and smashed them against the ground, breaking the heels.

Outside, she began looking for the red lines. There were already many people outside also looking at the red lines. Unfortunately, the rain had smeared a lot of the lines so it was no longer clear which direction to head towards.

Tio's voice sounded again, "Oh yeah! I forgot to tell you. The red lines can be misleading, some take you to the right path, while others don't. There are only a limited number of antidotes, so not everyone will survive. It's survival of the fittest. Hahahaha…"

Jiana traced one of the red lines that seemed to lead towards the entrance, perhaps this was the right one. She began to sprint at full speed towards the entrance when her father, who hadn't spoken this entire time, finally called out, "Ji! Not that way. It's over here!"

Hearing this, she turned back and saw her father pointing in the opposite direction. Jogging over, she saw from their angle, that there was an island off in the distance. The red dotted lines disappeared off a dock and led into the water. A few people had already jumped into the water, swimming towards the island.

Lauren pointed out that the life pack she had had a wet suit. Jiana's eyes lit up, this was definitely a clue. Searching through her first life pack, she realized it didn't have a wet suit. It seems each life pack contained a different clue and equipment.

Telling her sister to put on the wetsuit, she jogged back into the cabin that was now vacant and collected all the other life packs, consolidating them. There were a number of objects in the various life packs. Thankfully she was also able to find 3 other wetsuits.

Her mom was still hesitating about the wetsuit. This was no time for modesty. She quickly stripped off her bodycon dress and put on the wetsuit as a good example for her mother, who lagged behind in action.

After equipping the life suit, they all jumped into the water and began swimming. Jiana's mother didn't know how to swim. Thankfully, Lauren had also found a flotation device in her life pack. They grabbed on and began swimming towards the island. At this point, there were many others who discovered this path as well and they all silently swam towards the island.

None of them knew what the island held, but it was their only chance for survival.
