15 Chapter 14

Worst diving ever ! I trip my foot at the end of the ramp and fell like a dummy. But after a few attempts, I could able to be in better position. I can see the other soldiers diving down and suddenly I came across a cloud. Its dark black, maybe the harmless gases. The air was striking me so badly. What if I don't wore those masks ? I probably be blind or deaf by air. As we reach 1000 altitude.

"Everyone ready ! Then pull the ripcord on the count of three...1.........2..........3", Johnson said to us as I pulled the ripord which ejected a parachute.

We're slowly floating down now and reach the land. Well, its a safe dive I suppose. We're landed on a overpass. As I saw the landscape, it was really wonderful if someone thought it as a hell. The overpass was demolished from middle and the ruins are just like a Hollywood disaster movie. There was a very little sunlight illuminating there just like a 10W bulb.

"God, is this the place we are going to begin our mission ?", one of the soldier asked.

"Hard to believe. But we don't have any choices left", Johnson replied.

"Where is the location ?", a soldier asked me.

I look at my phone to track the location.

"It's at the west from where we are now", I replied.

We head to the west. Its a long way to reach but fortunately we haven't encounter any nightwalkers. When we are walking. There's a soldier beside me. He was a bulky man but I can't able to see his face because of the mask. I deactivate the comlink for sometime and tried to start up a conversation

"How many missions are you on before ?", I asked to him.

"Are you asking me ?", he replied confusely

I nodded.

He also deactivate his comlink.

"Well, maybe 70 or up".

"And I think this is your first mission in a nightwalker infested country ?"

"No, I also went in a mission to Alaska to rescue the inhabitants and took them to an isolated camp near the countryside".

"Okay, what is your name by the way ?"

"Frank Krugman, nice too meet you".

"Ken".

"I know your name and saw you also".

I hummed

"Can you describe your face and your native country. Well this is the only way I can imagine your face".

"Well", he laughed. "I'm from African descent, but grew up in Seattle. I was a local gangstar at the streets but I swore off when I realised that I'm doing wrong. After that I joined U.S Army with a good set of grades. As for my face, I'm dark skined, have beards, not so big and trimmed hair".

"Well that information makes me think you really are on several missions", I said.

"You didn't believe me when I said that", he asked.

"No I mean-".

My words cuts off when my phone suddenly beeped. I took out my phone and found that we are in that place where a secret bunker is located.

"Guys, maybe we found it. The secret bunker is somewhere near", I said to others after activating my comlink.

"Team, split and find. But beware of those things", Johnson commanded to others.

As we are searching the bunker for half an hour we suddenly heard 'Jackpot' someone yelled. We followed the sound and found one of the soldier located the secret bunker. There's a hatch in the ground. We tried to open the hatch but its very difficult to do that. So, one of the soldier put a detonators at the circumference of the hatch causing it to explode. As soon as it explode, we heard moans from far away. So we immediately went down there.

The bunker was dark but we have hi-powered UV lights so that we can retreat the nightwalkers as well as the darkness. In short one arrow, two targets. We put our every step cautiously in the dark so that we save from from those things. We are walked through the hallway. We found a door named 'Comulane Bat Experiment'. We enter the room and found there a very small table between the room with medical equipments all over the room. Some old computers at a desk near the walls, a vial between the two computers with water in it. The floor was stained with gore and with only a little can be shown the white color of that floor.

"Drake and Tracy, go out and check the other places", Johnson commanded the other two guard as they moved on.

I think the woman that I talked in the chopper was Tracy. I knew because when Johnson commanded them, I saw the red haired woman followed the soldier named Drake to outside.

"Ken, we have only 5 minutes left, do it as soon as possible", Johnson said to me.

"You have already wasted 4 seconds in telling that".

I went near to the computers and bring on the power. I can't believe there still has electricity here from World War II till now. Anyways, so I began to hack the computers. Its not as tough as I think it can take because its an old computer I can easily access very file in every folder and retrieve it seconds. But I'm wrong, they encrypted the files in such a order that no one can ever access it. Awful !

"Dude, I need 6 minutes to hack all those files", I said to Johnson.

"We don't have much time left".

"If I detached the hard drive before it can retrieve all file. We will lost all the valuable information".

Johnson was silent but I know he was thinking something.

"Okay, I will give you 6 minutes", he told to me.

I began to hack the computer as fast as I can. I heard some footsteps going out of the room. So I looked back and found no one. I think they were going to stop those nightwalkers till I completed this. So I again bagan to concentrated on my work.
