3 Training?

And this is how my journey began, as I had planned. I followed the stream down the river, but at the moment I have not come across any type of beast. Which is really strange considering that I am in a forest. That makes me really nervous since if there are no animals around, it can only mean one thing. Somehow I find myself in the territory of some powerful beast which would explain the absence of beasts in the area another option and the least likely is that someone or something has eradicated all the beasts in the area.

Gulp! This rare situation causes the adrenaline in my entire body to rush to its maximum. " Nick said cautiously.

"Why do you worry so much, Nick? Did you forget you have a system? " Luna asked with a teasing expression.

"Hey! Didn't you mention that you wouldn't help me? " Nick said shocked.

"Are you an idiot?" Luna chided.

Of course I will not help you become the strongest man of all existential planes overnight. As a general rule we are both linked, and my responsibility is to some extent to help you strengthen and survive regardless of the situation in which you find.

"Are you serious?" Nick asked surprised.

"Of course I'm serious, fool." Luna replied with blank eyes.

What a relief! That would be great. Nick exclaimed excitedly in his mind knowing that he didn't need to worry about his surroundings since Luna would help with that.

"Excuse me if I burst your bubble of emotions, but I would recommend that you start your training in this place instead of traveling directly to a city to strengthen yourself." Luna recommended.

"Why do I have to stay and train?" Nick asked puzzled by the sudden Luna words.

"I see that you are much more naive than I thought." Luna said disdainfully

Nick pouted but he waits to hear Luna's reasoning.

"Well, let me tell you a little bit about this world, so that you better understand the situation you are in." Luna proclaimed.

As you already know this world is called Ligno, which according to the ancient language of this world means tree, and before you ask, the world itself is not full of trees and jungles, like the one we find ourselves in. Luna clarified Nick's doubt in advance.

The name only symbolizes the abundance of wildlife that once existed in ancient times. Luna commented.

We are currently in the center of the Kiskanu forest a land that was inhabited by the god Ea eons ago or at least this is how the mythology of this planet shows it.

"I get it." Nick replied"

But that doesn't really explain why I should stay here and train." Nick commented

"Just an idiot." Luna exclaimed exasperatedly at Nick's ignorance.

"The reason you have to train is logically to gain strength and battle experience. Since if you travel like this now, the only thing you will get from the city will be scornful mockery of people, and possibly death. If you don't die while you come out of the forest. " Luna replied severely.

"Also, this is the ideal place to carry out your training, because this is the least dense area of the forest which implies the scarcity of resources for the beasts that want to strengthen themselves. Therefore it can be considered a safe area." Luna commented again.

"Do you understand now?" Luna said irritably.

"Hey, don't be so mad at me for my lack of knowledge. You have to remember that this is my first experience in a cultivation world. Plus I haven't been here for more than a couple of hours." Nick replied angrily.

Oh shit, I forgot it. Luna thought stupidly.

"Well, it doesn't matter, now you know what you're going to face." Luna unabashedly replied without admitting her mistakes.

"Let's start then." Nick answered

"All right." Luna replied.

"And what kind of training will I do?" Nick asked

"The only thing you will do to train will be to fight in real combat with some beasts." Luna said forcefully.

"Why do you look so excited, to see me fight?" Nick asked

"I just want to see your ass kicked." Luna said mischievously.

Tsk, tsk, tsk. Nick gritted his teeth.

"If I'm going to fight at least give me a weapon, since I'm not going to fight with bare hands." Nick said.

"Well, I'll give you a short sword." Luna affirmed

Isn't a short sword too small to deal with beasts? Nick thought with dismay.

"I know what you're thinking brat, but a short sword will help you improve your reflexes, agility, strength and perception." Luna replied seriously.

"Give me the sword." Nick requested.

"All right." Luna nodded in satisfaction as she passed him the sword.

Nick took the sword and asked. "What level is this weapon at?"

"It is simply a rank 1 sword which is perfectly useful for your training."

"Luna, where do I have to go?" Nick asked enthusiastically.

"Go back near the river, and start walking near the shore for 1 km. There you will find the first spiritual beast. "Nick quickly started running towards his destination.

"What kind of beasts is it?" Nick asked.

"Let's see, comparing to the animals you know the beast you will face is similar to a crocodile with a length of 15 meters. It really is a good training partner." Luna nodded in satisfaction at her finding.

"Hey, hey, are you serious?" Nick asked as his face blanched with fear.

"What happens? Are you cowering, right now? " Luna asked dismissively as she noticed the change in Nick's complexion.

Hearing Luna's disdainful words, Nick became enraged

"Fuck you, how the hell am I supposed to kill such a monster with a damn sword that's slightly bigger than a damn kitchen knife?" Nick asked irritably.

"Where was all the enthusiasm and determination you showed just a moment ago?" Luna asked.

"I have the determination to face the beast, but I've only just gotten a second chance to live, and I don't want to die without even seeing a damn city in this world." Nick exclaimed furiously.

"Unfortunately for you there is no opportunity to withdraw, because the beast is about to emerge from the river and you are in its territory." Luna warned.

"Shit, I should have followed my mother's golden advice." Nick thought as he remembered one of the advices his former mother said to him.

*******

Nick, my dear boy, heed the advice that your mother will give you if you want to live in this society calmly.

What advice? Little 10-year-old Nick asked his mother innocently.

Listen carefully, never listen to strangers if they invite you to do something you are not fully aware of and be twice as careful if the one who invites you is a woman.

Well mommy, I will consider it. Little Nick answered

*******

Hell, I was overconfident my mother was right.

And this is how the adventures of our protagonist officially begin in unknown lands with his faithful companion Luna.
