9 Power Levels

Nick! Luna exclaimed scared when she saw Nick fall to the ground.

Only when she checked Nick´s condition, she breathed relief that the ogre's last blow helped Nick's body recover from his suffocation, apparently the blow decompressed Nick's crushed lungs.

"I think this is the first time I've been so concerned about someone else's well-being." Luna thought, remembering the entire battle that didn't take more than 10 minutes.

Speaking of that, Nick really surprised me this time since never in my wildest dreams I would have imagined that Nick would improve so much in battle, only because of that I can say that Nick has a lot of talent for battle. Besides he has a mind too sharp to come up with such a battle plan in just a few fractions of second, that's really impressive. Luna thought internally expectant to see Nick's growth.

After an hour, Nick regained consciousness and sat down, then he remembered with enthusiasm the battle he had just won, but after a brief moment of sitting in excruciating pain it ran down his spine, making Nick growl in pain.

"Aahhgg! Shit, it hurts a lot."

"How do you feel?" Luna asked worried.

"I'm fine, but the pain is excruciating." Nick replied

"Don't worry, you just have to return to our cave and rest for a few more hours, until you fully recover." Luna said.

"Then, what are we waiting for? Let's go." Nick replied in pain.

"All right." Luna nodded and led the way back to the cave.

When Nick arrived at the cave, the beautiful sunset could be seen on the horizon.

"Okay, now I can finally go to bed and rest." Nick said tired and still in pain.

"Wait a minute! Before you go to sleep. I want to notify you that you have obtained 300 system points by killing the 3 rank 1 ogres. " Luna notified Nick.

"I only received 300 points? That is not very little. " Nick said outraged at the paltry amount of points he earned, putting his life on the line.

Upon hearing that, Luna laughed and said. "You are wrong Nick, it may be a few points if you were stronger, but for your current self this number of points is really enough for you to grow in power by a good margin.

"What!? are you serious!?" Nick asked surprised to hear Luna's answer.

"Yes, with that amount you can buy pure spiritual fruits that will help you gain a great amount of energy, as well as elixirs that purify your entire body of all the filth you have." Luna said.

Hearing it, Nick almost jumped with joy knowing that he could be stronger since if that was the case, the day he would finally get out of this damn forest would come sooner.

"Now that I remember, Luna, you has not explained to me the power levels of this world." Nick said.

"Well then, let me explain, the power levels of this world are classified in this way rank 1 to rank 9" Luna replied.

Like beasts and monsters, humans are measured in ranges according to their level of power and unlike monsters and beasts, humans in addition to their rank have a title which are:

Rank 1: knight

Rank 2: Bronze Knight

Rank 3: Silver Knight

Rank 4: Golden Knight

Rank 5: Platinum Knight

Rank 6: Transcended Knight

Rank 7: Overlord

Rank 8: Ascendant Lord

Rank 9: Saint

"There you have it, those are the levels this world possesses." Luna stated.

"So, after I consume the items that I can currently buy on the system, what level will I qualify for?" Nick asked expectantly.

Luna then answered unexpectedly. "You will not belong to any of the ranks"

"What!?" Nick exclaimed in surprise.

"As I said, you will not belong to any of that group." Luna replied with a small giggle when she noticed the stupid expression on Nick's face.

"What do you mean? Can't I cultivate? Didn't you just say I could buy items to gain power just moments ago? " Nick launched a flurry of questions.

"Don't worry, don't worry, what I mean when I say that you won't belong to any of the ranks I mentioned before is because you have another type of energy." Luna replied cheerfully.

What kind of energy do I have? And why do I have another type? " Nick asked puzzled by the new information.

Well, let me explain, the type of energy that you possess is called "divine essence," which unlike what you might guess by its name, is not a type of energy exclusively for the gods, and what it really refers to by that name is to a type of energy superior to spiritual energy.

"Why is it superior to spiritual energy?" Nick asked interested to know more.

"It is superior for its level of purity, in addition to the possibilities it presents." Luna replied

"What do you mean, by possibilities?" Nick asked again.

In simple words, the paths you can take on your cultivation path are already pre-established by the heavens, while the divine essence is like a blank canvas waiting for its author to draw his path and his secrets on it.

Which only means that the divine essence is a type of pure and flawless energy that has no limits on the path you want to create.

"I see, but doesn't that imply that I'm better than the others?" Nick asked.

"Do not misunderstand me" Luna replied and continued: "You certainly have an advantage over others, but do not think that you are the only one who can use the divine essence, since to put it in simple words the divine essence is only the evolved form of spiritual energy. Which means that all living beings that use spiritual energy could overcome their pre-established limits and evolve their ways to their liking and understanding of their previous ways"

"Then, why do I possess this kind of energy?" Nick asked curiously.

"The answer is simple and complex at the same time." Luna answered mysteriously and continued: "the simple part is that you need the divine essence to activate the system, and communicate with me. The complex part is that I do not really know how you obtained the divine essence, I do not know if the divinity granted it to you, which is very probable. If you have me with you, but there is also the possibility that you were born with it, and that the divinity when noticing the divine essence decided to give you the system for some reason. Although this last possibility is really rare because you had to have inherited it from someone from your family. Which is very weird coming from a world with little spiritual energy. " Luna responded equally puzzled by Nick's abnormal situation.

"Then Luna, what are the power levels of the divine essence?" Nick asked interested in Luna's answer.

"There is no specific way to calculate the divine essence since all possessors have their ways of naming it, although each one can calculate it, since when a threshold of accumulation and body adaptation is reached, a barrier is broken, indicating an advance. But in your case it is much easier to calculate it because I can serve as a measure of your power and I can transform it, into something easy to understand. " Luna proudly replied.

"Can you do that?" Nick asked surprised

"Of course." Luna answered and continued with her explanation.

"To simplify everything, I can create a level bar like those of a game in your status window that will help you to know precisely your power level."

"Wow, impressive." Nick praised.
