Kaixuan barely registered Samson’ weight as he came across a withered tree that had the petrified face of a person on its bark. Greyish purple fruits hung from reed like branches as swirl of mists hung low to the forest floor. Kaixuan was most familiar with heat, he had flames for blood and a control over fire that most would never be able to match or understand, he could feel the temperature in Samson rising, so he stopped and placed the young soldier against one of the trees, he took a closer look and was startled at what he saw.

“What the fuck is that?” Laurent asked as he crouched in front of Samson, with Salma in tow.

“He’s been poisoned!” Salma answered as she moved his head to the left and right, noticing the trail of black sludge that was escaping from his nose, ears and the side of his eyes.

“But I saw him heal himself, how comes he still poisoned?” Laurent asked. Receiving a reply from Kaixuan instead.
