15 Chapter 15 - Beta Malcolm/Mason

I grab my cup of coffee from the table and ask, “So, does anyone have any big plans for today?”

Even though I ask the question, I’m still not used to having breakfast without Kane here too. He always has a way of brightening the gloomiest day with just his smile or his sweet voice.

Caleb, my oldest son and the next beta of our pack, asks, “Where did Ben go? Did he actually find Kane?”

I slowly nod my head.

My wife, Jane, adds, “Honey, you never told me about what Ben found out. Can you please let us now? It can’t be a secret to us. We are family.”

I try to think about my conversations with Kane. However, my mind goes blank. The only things that I can really remember is that Kane is fine, that Ben has found Kane, and that Ben then has found his mate, who is human, but beyond that, I don’t remember much of the conversation. How can that be?
