9 Elven Kingdom pt. 1

After a few weeks, they arrived at the portal that will take them to the Kingdom of Esmond.

In these weeks I have learned a lot about them, like that both Kayla and Alan didn't have any real friends since they only wanted to have connections with them, it was almost the same at my birthday. Those people only wanted special connections.

After hearing more about their family it felt no different, their family was nice, they spent time together even though their parents were busy. They were just like me, I don't have any friends but I have a good family that takes their time to hangout with me. Even in my other life I didn't really have any really close friends, I worked hard day and night so that I could get revenge for my father.

I told them about my life too but not including my past because I think it would be too risky so I kept my mouth shut.

'Papa look, It's the portal!' Aria said in excitement.

"We are arriving, please be ready." The driver said.

"Yay! I will show you around!" Kayla exclaimed.

"Yes, I will be sure to tell mother and father about your arrival." Alan agreed.

Going through the portal I could hear people chattering, as soon as when we stepped out of the carriage I could see the knights arrive to pick up the princess and prince. After the knights arrived I could see another carriage pulling up; 'I guess that's the King and Queen, I should get ready.'

As the king and queen came over both Alan and Kayla ran to their parents. I stayed behind looking at both of them from behind.

"We got the message of both of you being attacked by filthy monsters." The king said worried.

"It's good that you both got back in one piece." The queen assured the king.

When the both of the king and queen noticed me and walked towards me I bowed.

"My name is August Peirce, I come from a small town from the Kingdom of Krentis. I am honored to finally meet you." I said.

I think that my introduction was a little too much but this is better than nothing.

"Were you the one who saved our children." The King said in a strict tone.

"Yes sir, I saw that Prince Alan and Princess Kayla were in trouble. But of course I didn't know that they were the Prince and Princess before they came out of the carriage and introduced themselves." I answered back, trying to be formal.

"Hmmm, this brat saved both of them from the monsters?" A person who looked like a grandpa said.

"Father, why are you here?" The King asked.

"I can't see my own grandchildren come back home in one piece?" The old man said.

Oh so the grandpa was the former king...I'll keep that in mind.

'Papa he's the person you are looking for!' Aria exclaimed.

Yes Aria, now shush. I don't want to get distracted.

"We will talk further about this later in the castle." The King said, it sounded like it was not a proposal but an order.

"Come one Aug! I want to show you around." Kayla smiled at me.

"Yea, lets go!" Alan smirked.

Looking at everybody else I could tell that they were shocked. I think that is mostly because they never had a friend.

"Maybe after I have the discussion with the King and Queen, I want to clear everything first." I answered back.

"Good choice little brat." The Grandpa said.

As we headed towards the castle, It was the same as I'd imagine it to be. It was gigantic outside and looked even bigger inside. It was decorated with a lot of priceless paintings and porcelains. There were so many family pictures, knights everywhere for security. The chandelier on the ceiling made the whole room light up, I was afraid if the light in the chandelier somehow went off or broke the whole room will be so dark that you might think the room was wrapped in darkness.

We went into a room with a long table with many chairs surrounding it. As I sat down across from the King I began to explain what happened. Both Kayla and Alan added into my story.

The King nodded his head after hearing everything as If trying to process and digest everything down.

"So, you are here to meet my father? Do you have any proof of Alora telling you this." The King asked, looking at his face I could tell that he was suspicious of me.

Reading many books I could tell why he was suspicious especially when Alora was a dragon, also adding in that she was a powerful dragon.

I handed my letter which was still perfectly folded in my pocket. After handing Alora's letter to the King and reading it he nodded his head.

"So it's true, so that on your shoulder is her child I'm guessing?" He asked.

"Yes, but I don't want this information to spread." I answered.

"I will do that for you, think of it as a favor for bringing my kids back." He nodded.

"Thank you." I nodded back.

"Ah, also, the thing about my will, Alora said that the former king would help me with this problem." I told them.

"Hmm, I will think about it. Also, my name is Marek Aftron." Marek said.

"Ah, yes, I forgot to introduce ourselves. My name is Adon Afton and my wife is Catherine Afton. I will prepare a room for you to stay in." Adon said.

"Thank you very much, I will remember your generosity." I thanked him.

"No need to say that, since you are such good friends with my children then I know that you are someone that I can trust." Adon replied.

As we all walked our separate ways I went to my room and took a shower. After dressing up in my new clothes I went down and met up with Alan and Kayla.

We walked around the kingdom, going to shops, restaurants, entertainment places, and meeting people that they knew.

"This place sure is big." I said in amazement.

"Hahaha, yea, you would get used to it." Alan smiled.

"Yep, you are staying for awhile right?" Kayla asked.

"I don't know…" I said sadly.

"It really depends if your grandpa wants to help me, that's the whole reason I came here." I told them.

Both of them looked disappointed, especially Kayla. She looked like she was really desperate for me to stay.

"It's alright, I trust that grandpa will help you out." Alan assured us.

"Let's head back before it's dark or your parents will be worrying about you again." I said to them.

Heading back into my room I hear a knock on my door.

"Who is it?" I asked.

"It's me, Kayla." She said, her voice was muffled from being behind the door.

I hopped off my bed and opened the door. Kayla was in her PJs and her silver hair was loosened down her shoulders.

"I want to show you the garden in the greenhouse, It's really beautiful." She said her while eyes sparkled in excitement.

"Sure, lets go Aria." As we headed out the door and into the garden I could smell the scent of the trees and flowers ahead.

Going into the garden, Kayla pointed out her favorite flowers.

"This one is my favorite out of them all, it's called the Frangipani, I like it because it has a funny name, but also It looks the most beautiful." She explained.

"I-" I was stopped when one of my senses detected a threat.

As soon as I detected it I wrapped my arms around Kayla and pushed both of us to the ground. I hear 2 knives whistle near us and I grab both of it and throw it back.

As soon as I threw it back I saw who threw them...It was Marek. He dodged both of the knives that I both threw and tried to punch my stomach. I grabbed his incoming fist which was a bad idea because the force of his fists pushed me a few meters across the garden.

"AUG!" Kayla screamed.

As I stood back up I used my mana to enhance my body and leaped forward, grabbing a stick on the floor I used as a sword. Swinging my sword trying to land a hit on Marek but everytime I tried he dogged.

He grabbed my leg but then using my mana to enhance my strength then twisted his hand, using my other hand which was holding the stick I barely managed to scratch his forehead.

Taking a few steps back he gave in.

"You are pretty good even though you are using a stick little brat." Marek said.

"Thank you, at least I could land a hit on you hahah." I smirked.

"Don't just attack us out of nowhere grandpa." Kayla pouted.

"Why not go for a second round brat?" He smiled

"My name is August, but I don't think Kayla wants us to fight hahaha." I laughed looking at Kayla pouting.

Kayla pinched both of us on the side.

"Shut up...I was scared." She said, trying not to cry.

"I'm sorry little one, we will stop but maybe next time." He said, patting her head.

"Hmph." She turned her head away from us.

"We're sorry, let's just go." I said.

"Yea, about the will you have. I will help only if you become my discipline." He said as he smirked.

"Of course I will accept it." I said, grinning as I shaked his hand.

After we headed back inside I went straight to my room and cleaned myself.

'Papa, that was an exciting fight! I could feel your heart raise.' Aria said happily.

'I never fought someone who was better than me in swordsmanship other than my mentor in my previous life.' I said to her.

'Alright! Let's go to sleep, we don't want to wake up too late tomorrow. I also want to tell my parents that I'm fine...or should I maybe tell my assistance to tell my parents using the communication scroll.' Eh, I will think about it tomorrow.
