3 Back In Time

*splash* *splash* as I ran in the rain in the dark, dropping all my groceries on the wet floor and crying out loud to my dad who was lying died on the floor with a pool of blood forming under him. Running towards him I got stopped by the police,

"Please step back kid," the officer warned

"Bu...But he's my father!" I yelled as I called out to my dead dad

"Kid, where is yo-" the officer stopped as he got interrupted by the other officer

"Kid come and I'll take you to the station for further questioning, I'll also be bringing your mother," the other officer said calmly as he reached over and grabbed my hand to get into the car. As I tried to resist so I can see my dead father getting carried away from the crime scene, the officer said to me,

"Kid, if you want to find your father's murderers, then come and stop resisting." Now the officer said irritatedly.

I stopped resizing, as I heard those words come out of his mouth, 'this is the only way Henry, to find your father's murderers' But there was no way I could find who my father's assassins were; there were so many people that held grudges against my father…

As we arrived at the police station I saw my mother, when we went in my mother hugged me enthusiastically.

"Henry! Where have you been? I was so worried that the people came to go after you!"

I knew this was all a lie, my mother never cared about me, she did nothing nice, it was always my father who helped me *sniff*...as helpless as I was, I cried, not because of my mother's "caringness" or pity but because of the sorrow that built up inside me, feeling a lump forming in my throat- trying to hold it back but couldn't and started to sobbed even more. 'Damn It Henry, stop crying! You're just helping her even more with her acting!' I couldn't help but hating myself for crying and being so useless.

"Please come in" the officer gestured towards the empty room with a desk, two seats for us and one seat for the investigator.

"Hello, I am Detective James, I will be the investigator for today." He reached his hand out and gestured for a handshake. As my mother shook his hands, he told us to sit in the two seats and talked to us.

"Now let's begin. Did any of you see what happened at the crime scene? Did anyone else see it happen? And if so who?" As he continued to ask his questions not stopping until he was done asking, I answered all his questions and my mother too.

"I will send this report out for further investigation, and Ms, if you have any other concerns please call us," As he give his phone number over to my mom, she asked something that surprised the officers.

"I don't have a job right now and since my husband is dead, can I take Henry to the orphanage because I can't raise him right now," As those words came out it was both a sigh of relief and anger. She is taking father's death as an advantage to get rid of me.

"Ma'am, are you sure about this?" The investigator said questionably,

"Yes, I am, I'm afraid..I... I cannot raise my...son well enough so he can have a good life," my mom said while crying.

'I will get revenge for my father...one day, just you wait'

"Very well then, I will take your son to the orphanage and give you the form to fill out." Once again, the investigator seemed tipped off by the sudden request.

As I woke up from that horrible nightmare, I heard my mom coming into my room,

"Aw sweety, did you have a nightmare?" My mom said, concerned.

It's good to be in this family, not like my other life. I won't let the same mistakes take over my life, I thought.

"Let's go eat breakfast and see what daddy is doing outside," She whispered, afraid that I might cry again.

It's been a year now, I'm 1 years old and still helpless, at least I can crawl so that is an achievement unlocked. As I finished breakfast, we went outside to see my dad train. My father is an aviver or a person who enhances their body by using mana in-order to increase their physical strength, durability, or agility. My mother is a seer, a person who can use the mana from their surroundings and bending it to their will. A seer has advantage over an aviver in magic power but not in close combat so in order for the seer's to not let the aviver come closer; the seer's need to produce more spells while their other spells are keeping the aviver away. Think of it as making a cake, and while you're done with one cake and someone is eating the cake you finished, you are making another cake when the one you finished making is not fully eaten yet. It's like making something, then making another batch of that same or different thing just in-case.

While both an aviver and seer have distinct advantages and disadvantages, it's always good to have a backup plan or a trick up your sleeve just in case something goes wrong. There are also stages to your core:

-Black

-Red

-Orange

-Yellow

-Green

-Silver

-White

And while white is the highest stage people can go further and further depending on their control of their element/affinity, as far I read no one has gone past the white core except for the first king of Krentis, he was the one who defeated the rampaging beast and fought in the Great Aztec war where the first king fought against the Agnians.

Being an aviver or seer really depends on what you are better at, close combat or controlling affinities. I'm not saying that a seer can't have good combat skills or an aviver can't have superb control over affinities. What I'm saying is which one you are stronger at.

"Aug, Aug," My mom was shaking me, trying to tell me to snap out of my thoughts

As I turned around for my mom to carry me back inside a herd a big *CRACK* then a *BOOM*

"It must have been your father again *sigh*, he never listens when I tell him to be careful." My mom said as she shook her head.

"Sorry, honey! I think that I might have made a mess again!" My dad yelled from outside as me and my mom started to laugh.
