8 A New Adventure

As I waved goodbye to my parents and set off with my bond I entered the carriage. It will take at least 3 - 4 weeks until I arrive at my destination since judging the speed of the carriage, it only moves up to 15 miles (about 24km) an hour.

I still worry if the Elves are going to let me in, but Alora did leave a letter to give them. Trying not to question further, I closed my eyes and went to sleep.

--

"Master August please wake up, we arrived at a town and will be resting at the inn." My assistant said while shaking me.

"Hmm?" I said while rubbing my eyes.

"We will be resting in the inn, Master, please get ready." My assistant said again.

"Ah, ok. Thank you." I nodded towards the driver.

As I stepped out of the carriage stretching my body; I smelled the food coming from the restaurants and I could see that it was already dusk, the sun was already setting right over the horizon, the air was cool with the smell of food floating around, the sky was getting darker with a hint of reddish orange in it.

Stepping into the inn with my assistant and guards that my parents assigned to me (since they are protective of me), my assistant went to the front desk and rented rooms for the night.

Walking into the room you can see wooden tiles, one bed, a table and two chairs, a bookshelf, and a closet in one cozy room. As I opened the window to let the fresh air in; I could see the streets being filled with people walking around, in bars, restaurants, shops, and even some roaming around in the dark alleyways shouting "Fight! Fight! Fight!." That scene gave me both good and bad memories of my past after my father died.

Going back downstairs and quickly drunk my soup, at my bread, then went back up to my room.

Dressed in my PJs and closing the windows backup, I snuggled up in my bed. Even Though I slept quite a bit in the carriage, I fell right to sleep one again since my body still needs a lot of energy.

*The Next Day*

Waking up and staring outside the window I could tell I woke up early, but not as early as my assistants and my guards; being awake at dawn.

Once again, We headed out and settled back in the carriage.

"Here is some food, young master." My assistant handed me some scrambled eggs, pancakes, strips of bacon, and some fruits.

Looking at the food made both me and Aria's stomach growl.

"Hahah, eat up Aria." I said as Aria took a piece of bacon and swallowed it whole.

'Papa, It was soooo delicious!' Aria said in my head, somehow I could feel that Aria was enjoying this, it as as if we were sharing our emotions.

"If it's good then eat up." I answered back grinning.

As both of us whipped the plate sparkling clean, we stopped to rest for a while and stretched.

Letting the sun shine on my face and feeling the warmth, it was the best feeling ever. But then we heard screaming in the distance.

As I looked around with my enchanted senses I saw a battle a 5km ahead of us.

Turning towards the guards I told them to go ahead and help.

Still having an uneasy feeling I rushed inside the carriage and told the driver to go to the battle.

"B...But young master, we were told to keep you safe." My assistant said uneasily.

"I am not going to let some monsters kill innocent people." I answered back this time more angry. As if my bond felt my anger and uneasiness she growled at my assistant.

"O...ok then, but please don't try to submerge yourself too much in the battle, young master. I don't want you to get hurt." My assistant said back.

"Fine." I said, worrying if I will make it in time to shift the weight of the battle into our favor.

As I arrived at the scene it looked like a butchery, most of the guards were dead and only 2 or 3 were alive. The guards didn't look like any ordinary guards, they were knights! Looking around there were about a dozen or more monsters still standing.

As my eyes shifted to the carriage I could see the Elven kingdoms symbols of it. It seems like there are two children in the carriage, they must be related to the royal family of Esmond.

"Look after the carriage, I will be going in." I said to my assistant.

"But-" The assistant was cut off when I dashed into the battle zone.

As I ran into battle I used my mana to enchant my body. Slice, dodge, kick, that's what I was doing on and on; with the help of the guards and my bond we killed all the monsters which were now laying dead on the floor. As I walked closer to my assistant and guards I could see the mixture of amazement and worried expressions on their faces.

"Young master you are wounded." My assistant pointed out that my arm with a cut which looked pretty deep but I shook it off.

"Never mind that, but we should bury the knights...Oh, also check the people in that carriage for me; they might be someone important in there." I told the guards while pointing to the carriage with the mark of the royal family of Esmond.

"Yes young master." They said while walking towards the carriage.

"Master August, you should go back to the carriage to heal your wound." My assistant said concerned.

I walked towards the carriage, but then stopped by a little girl's voice coming from behind me.

Turning around I see a girl a bit shorter than me, maybe a bit younger than me. She looked like a princess, wearing a white blouse and a tiara which matched her long silver hair. Her big stormy gray eyes and pale skin made her look like a miniature warrior.

There was a guy who looked just like her, her brother I'm guessing, having the same silver hair but instead of those big blue eyes he had sharp violet shaped eyes, also wearing a crown on his head.

"Thank you for saving us both." The girl said while bowing.

"No need to bow, please, I just did what's right." I answered back.

"Where were the two of you going to? And who are you?" I asked, even though the second question was quite obvious who they were, I just wanted to confirm.

"We are going back to the Elven Kingdom, and I am Alan Afton, and my sister here beside me is Kayla Afton from the kingdom of Esmond." Alan answered back.

Given the circumstances right now I don't think anyone would care if I did anything weird…

"Well that's good news since we are heading the same way, would you care to join us? Oh, and I am August Peirce." I bowed, I didn't want to be rude so I did what a normal person would do when seeing a member of the royal family. I feel like I am talking too formally and I'm giving off a more mature vibe, but what is done is done.

As both of them accompanied us in the carriage they started to ask a lot of questions.

"Why are you coming to the Elven Kingdom? How did you just fight like that? Is that your bond on your shoulder? Where are you from? How old are you? Do you have a name for your bond?" Both of them asked.

"Well...I am coming to the Elven Kingdom since I have business to do over there, I trained a lot with my father and mother. Yes this is my bond on my shoulder, I came from a small town, and I am 4 years old, and my bond's name is Aria." I answered back to them.

"Oh, so you're coming to the Elven Kingdom for some business with our parents?" Alan asked, thinking about my answer.

"You're the same age as me too; I hope we become great friends." Alan smiled.

"Oh, so your sister is 3, am I correct?" I asked.

"Yes, you're correct." Kayla nodded her head.

"We will be arriving in another town, please rest up. We won't be stopping after resting at the inn today since there will be no towns or even anything after we leave this one." The driver said.

"Okay then, let's get ready shall we?" I smiled at both of them.

As I looked at both of them I could tell that Kayla's ears were turning red...How can a little kid get flustered so fast? Does she understand what she's feeling right now? I asked inside my head.

'It looks like papa found a mate.' Aria said, I can seriously picture her smirking inside my head.

I sighed and just shoved the questions behind my head.

Arriving at our destination, we went into the inn. This time we have three beds inside one room since there are 3 kids, and of course I am sleeping in the middle.

*Sigh*
