In a forest, a man was sitting by a lake with a giant fire-roasted fish beside him.
"Hatsu," I thought. "It was during my first kill in a hunt against a nen user , when I killed the nen user who ran a center for selling stolen organs, that I understood my nen ability of specialization. Every time I killed someone, I stole between 1 and 10% of their nen from what I could find out, like a game. These people's lives were like a game to me of xp who would have believed that I could autait life without any interiuere dates just work".
From what I understand, it only works on nen users. Non-nen don't gain me anything for my hatsu and manipulation. I've had the idea for a while, which is why I've started training with a sword and enlarging my in zone by 50m. In my in zone, everything I touch reverses sideways to add more difficulty and make the effect stronger. I made some binding vows:
The closer you are to me in the in zone, the more your five senses are reversed. Conversely, the further away you are, the weaker the effects.
I can hit my opponent four times. If I don't hit him at all, I lose a sense, starting with taste, touch, hearing, smell, then sight. If I lose a sense during combat before I've used my ability, I go straight to the next one. If I no longer possess any of my senses, my hatsu ability is cancelled. Same thing if I run out of nen.
My blade doesn't do any damage, it's only used to exchange limb sensations. If you're hit on the right arm, when you want to raise your right arm, it's the left that rises (basically, your body is cut into two equal halves, and where the blade hits, it's reversed). If I hit the same spot twice, it goes back to normal.
Time to test all this, I say as I head to one of the engagement points to hunt for nen users.
"Bari, hello, I'm back in one piece again," I say.
"I don't plan on dying, old man. What do you have for me?" I said.
Bari replied, "Snot, there's everything, but we have thieves who have stolen one of the jewels from the house of one of the world's wealthy. 120 million jenis to return the jewel and 3 million more per thief you bring back alive.
A serial killer who collects his victims' front teeth, 50 million jenis.
A catacomb explorer stumbled on a fortune find. He killed his team-mates and disappeared into thin air. One of them managed to survive despite his injuries. To catch this man, he's willing to pay 80 million.
And then there's..."
I see you've got work to do. I'll take the crew-killer assignment. Have you received an indication of where he might be?
Bari replied, "Yes, we think he's in the town of Gortal, which is close to some illegal areas."
I see, thanks for the tip. I'll be back soon, old man.
Bari replied, "Go to hell, brat," he said with a smile.
I've been separated from my friends for six months already. I hope they're making progress. If they're playing on an arcade, I'm going to destroy them both.
Amori and Umori felt a cold pass over them, which was normal since they were on a snowy mountain training.
Imori: "I feel strangely targeted."
Umori: "Me too, but I'm not detecting any enemies in the area. It must be an effect of overwork. Your hatsu ability is dangerous for your enemies and for you and your allies."
Imori: "I know, but it's great, isn't it? I gather my nen on my fist and pour out all my power, causing a shock resembling an earthquake. Tapping mountains collapses, but I want to see the effect on living things."
Imori: "Soon, there's still two months to go, then we'll gather again on the celestial tower to test our improvements. Then we'll start group hunts on more powerful nen users. Normally, that's the plan."
Umori: "I know, but I can't wait. Your ability is really boring to develop."
Imori: "Don't say that, it's already hard for me. The pain at first hurt like hell. Soaking your nen in ice was one of the worst pains of my life. My limbs would turn blue and then turn black if I didn't circulate the ice well."
Umori: "I'm glad I didn't do something like that. Self-inflicted pain isn't my thing. I prefer a real fight, even for this. At least you won't freeze to death, that's something."
Imori: "Let's keep training to survive in this cruel world. Hahaha!"
Pov Amori:
It's been two weeks of tracking and I've finally found them. Now that they're starting to head for the forest, I need to eliminate them as quickly as possible. Who am I kidding? They're going to be my test subjects for my hatsu.
