9 Interlude

Two men were in a small room furnished with a couch potatos dream love seat and a few single person recliners facing a TV which was showing Beat Bobby Flay. (For all intents and purposes his daughter took over two years after his retirement, weather he has one or not) behind the love seat was a table with a scattering of books and paper depicting many different things. Some looked like character sheets while others looked like physics papers showing complicated equations, all of which were open and facing a tall and slim figure dressed in white typing on a computer and grumbling the whole time because the other person who was taking up the entirety of the love seat kept asking pointless and asinine question.

"So what are they doing now?" asked the man in the love seat with no one to love on.

"Bastille is floating in space still in a state of hibernation while the escape capsule just sits there."

"And Eddie?"

"For the love of all. They have been gone for all of 1 hour Moe, and this is that 13th time you have asked. Were supposed to be working on a back story for bastille and all you want to do is ask me what they are doing now and watching Beat Bobby Flay."

"Alright I wont ask you again, well for the rest of this hour."

"That does not bring my confidence in your abilities any higher as there are only 2 minutes left in this hour."

"Well I have to start somewhere and I don't like to break my promises."

"Yes. Yes. I can clearly understand what you are talking about. So I am going to put some earphones on until I am completed with this or... Well I guess I feel like it." The slim man proceeds to pull his hands apart and let go only for a pair of headphones to appear and snap to his head in the correct place. He then began to mumble to himself while Moe would occasionally ask questions only to be ignored.

"Hey you done yet?"

"Money will be location dependent but credits will be accepted every where usually with a fee or increase in price any where but the core systems with the fee getting higher as you go farther out from the core"

"What are you talking about gold is universally accepted!"

"Should we give them a system? No to overplayed it also puts a limiter on you. Though it does allow for more readily accessible rewards. Still no system. So how do I link them??? of course we'll just use the force don't need to introduce new things to the universe. Storage? Steal that idea from the Wuxia novels two rings one space. Can not be removed. Can also use this with the use of the force to better communicate and get location and health information between each other. Its briliant." SB then proceeds to take off his headphones only to hear Moe expounding on the benefits of a gold based economy.

"Moe you do realize that the world they are going to is too big to use a gold based economy and still be balanced. Instead in this case each government will have its own monetary system. In one place mineral deposits might be so abundant that they use coco beans like the Aztec in other areas they might be so rich in fauna and flora that they use a beasts fang or teeth in commerce. It just depends on where you are and what people place value in." explained SB

"Well that's just stupid. How are you going to know how much something cost from planet to planet."

"Confusing, I know. In the more commerce centric systems there will be a money exchange. In places with out you will have to barter and use your ability to haggle. There will also be places where there money is only good on that planet and all transactions will have to be made in it. This usually applies to capitol planets and systems. Why am I telling you this? I need to finish Bastille's back story-

"Oh I know she was an only child. While moving from there home system the ship they were on was attacked by pirates who captured every one to be held for ransom Later while they were hiding out in the asteroid belt a rival gang attacked them.. In the confusion Bastille and several other captives escaped and made it to the escape pods. Unfortunately they were captured by lazy pirates who never did a comprehensive upkeep, and Bastille's Escape pod's main systems shorted out shortly after launch, the secondary systems kicked in and place all occupants in to survival sleep until help could arrive. Insert Eddie." As Moe was speaking SB just stared on in amazement as this is the most decent thing that Moe had ever said that sounded plausible and wasn't full of loopholes or ship sized fecal matter

"Sounds great lets do it." Finalized SB
