20 Chapter 20

On lothol Day 1+

And it was Morning. Well ships morning. On the local area it was more like 10 pm. So we got up and got back to work. I went out and got one of the scavenged wheeled carts and brought it back inside. Bastille began to make Breakfast. With the use of the auto chef we have enough food for 100 people for 2 weeks, and the fresh food we have will be sold at a premium.

After a Breakfast of French toast and fruit we started shop. Na-Ni went out side and flipped our open sign and turned on the remaining lighting. Bastille went over and started up our Hobo grill made out of a shined and cleaned piece of decking with a heater mounted underneath. It does its job. It heats up to about 350 Fahrenheit which is a good temp to slow bake a cake or in our case cupcakes, hamburgers, hot dogs, and coleslaw.

I know how to grow cabbages so sue me.

While Bastille got the food going I started setting up my station. Black felt mat next to a soft rubber mat with an assortment of tools next to them. Another 8 feet over we had a lounge chair with a comprehensive medical bag next to it. As long as it doesn't fall off I am confident on healing any one who needs it.

And then we waited. Well I took apart the ship around me and ran loads through the forge to build up materials, most being turned in to filaments for the 3D printer.

As the first customer comes in he looks around wearily before checking his suits systems and then taking off his helmet. And the first customer is a human, white male, 50+ years old.

He moved forward a bit before he just stopped to take it all in. "So you take junk or credits in exchange for food or services?"

Na-Ni replied "That is correct sir. Is there any thing you would like?"

While raising a tool the old man then asked "How much to get this plasma cutter fixed and a Hamburger with side? What's a hamburger?"

"The Plasma cutter will be 38 credits and the Hamburger which is a grilled, ground nerf patty with spice. With side will be an additional 10 credits."

"Ok then I will take those then."

"Thank you sir. If you place the Plasma Cutter here or you can go down to my right and talk to the young master if you want any modifications. Your food will be brought out to you once it is finished cooking."

"You mean its hot. This is even better." the old man then walks my way with the Plasma cutter. "So you the young Master?"

"Well that's what Na-Ni calls me. So what can I do for you?"

"You seem a bit young to be making modifications to high frequency plasma cutters?"

"A bit. But don't let my age fool you. I can do a great many things. So what can I do for you today."

"Well I need my cutter to be a bit sturdier. I keep breaking it and then I have to get it fixed or get a new one."

"Alright lets take a look." I take the Plasma cutter and notice all the bash marks from it banging against things, like a Hammer. I then grab one of the wall plates I was previously cutting up to be dismantled in the forge and used this cutter on it. It didn't go well. It cut, but poorly. I then can the model in to my work station and add a modification that turns it in to a hardened plasma cutter with demolition hammer casing. Once completed I out put the tool to the customers screen. "Alright sir. Based on the wear and tear I see you would do well with something like this."

"That actually look decent. I'll take it."

"Thank you sir. That will be an additional charge of 6 credits as all I am doing is making a new housing for your cutter." I send the orders to the forge to create this new demolition housing.

"6? That's it."

I nod my head with a smile.

"Do I pay the Droid?"

I nod again

He walks back to Na-Ni with a bemused look on his face and then pays Na-Ni 6 credits before Na-Ni hands him his food. He found a seat and just looked off in to space still confused. But once the smell of the food hit him he started to absent mindedly eat.

I got to work disassembling the plasma cutter tossing out the casing and keeping the working mechanism. Over all it looked to be in good shape with the exception of the focusing lens. That had a multi faceted fracture which would cause the beam to scatter appreciably. I sent another order to the forge for a new focus. Once the preliminary work was finished I took the excess parts to the forge pulling out the new pieces and placing the broken stuff with a small pile of ceiling.

I then took every thing back and put his tool back together. Once it was done I tested it out on the deck plate. It worked well. I then took that strip and bashed it in to a ball before testing another section. It still worked. I hooked it up to a charger before going back to watching the old man eat his food. It was amusing. I feel that if he could have fit his hand in his mouth then he would have. I think Bastille is going to be getting us a lot of business.

And I was right. Over the next week we sold 200 hamburgers 100 hot dogs, 300 coleslaw sides, and 25 gallons of water. (Thank you atmospheric recycler)

I fixed and/or modified 51 plasma cutters, 28 blasters, 19 plasma welders, 8 tablets, 6 hard suits, 3 flash lights, and 1 nearly severed leg

here are our earning on our last day open. We have 24 hours to remove the last of our stuff

Hamburger 10 X 200=2000

Hot dog 05 X 100=500

coleslaw side 00 X 300=000

quart water 02 X 100=200

the following prices are averaged

Plasma C 40 X 51=2040

Plasma W 30 X 28=840

blaster 75 X 19=1425

Tablet 05 X 08=40

Hard suits 90 X 06=540

flash light 01 X 03=3

Leg free X 1=0

over all we served 32 different people

made 2700 Credit equivalent (CE) from food

and 4888 (CE) from mechanical work.

With another 27002 credits once Bastille busted out her paints and canvas in a lull to paint the salvage workers enjoying their meals. Once she was done she used a welder to create a mounting point and let it dry. that one was bought by the local guild master for 3900 credits after a stiff bidding war between the miners. Over all she created 18 single portraits, 3 group painting, 6 sceneries and one that had a unicorn galloping across an open field under the moon light. That one went to the Old man for his Great Grand Daughter who was turning 2.

I knew that Bastille was going to beat me in the earning of credits but I was thinking it was going to be more like twice as much as me in stead she mad 6 times more than me. Over all we earned 27326 in republic credits, and the rest in Credit Equivalent. It was ridiculous. Most of the credits came from the sell of paintings.

Tomorrow we will can the atmosphere and take down the shield emitters before we leave. The rest of the stuff had all ready been stowed away. We even have half of 1 cargo bay full of junk with the other a quarter full of refined materials in either spools or crates of aggregate. Most of the cases were full of dura steel, and a few were full of a Beskar alloy. With one crate that was subdivided with the different trace elements we were hear for in there own little box.
