1 The Death

The day was going very well.

She had not forgotten anything before leaving. Sis was not grumpy. The net was active so the songs were not stopping in middle. There was almost no traffic. No rain. Sky full of stars and a moon. They were all laughing at a joke her brother made.

Everyone was happy. Everything was perfect. Until...

A bastard decided to make their day [notice the sarcasm please] by crashing into their car and sending five happy teenagers (well three, as her eldest brother is 22 and sister is 20, but sometimes they still act like teenagers) on a one way trip to hell (or heaven).

Their car fell from the cliff and crashed. Her whole body was hurting with at least few bones broken and she was sure everyone was the same. After a while she could feel her body going numb and consciousness slipping away.

There was no doubt she was dying.

'I hope the others lived'

_____

Ah.

Sierra's head was hurting. Like veryyyyy much. She tried to open her eyes but they were so heavy. She gave up after a few tries and insted tried to listen to her surroundings.

Ok.

There was a woman who sounded too much like her mother and a hand was on her head, checking her fever? It was rough, like a man's. Then there was another voice, this time male. This one sounded like her father.

Sierra had thought that she died. Did she not? Was she saved?

That would be a miracle considering the height of the cliff. What about the others?

She gave another try to opening her eyes, she would have to check the others (it was her idea to go to the cliff).

After several tries Sia was successful in opening her eyes. She expected a white ceiling like a hospital or at least her bedroom ceiling. But what she saw was the canopy of a bed. She had never seen this, you know not many beds have canopy in 2021.

Moving her eyes to observe her surroundings, Sierra saw her mom sitting on the other half of the unfamiliar four poster double bed on which she was lying. And her dad was standing over her checking her fever. They both sighed visibly on seeing her awake.

"Sia, you are finally awake. Does it hurt somewhere? Are you thirsty? Is your head hurting? How can you be so careless? You gave us a heart attack."

'-_- that's my mom. No doubt.' She thought.

"Darling calm down, give her some space. Sia, are you okay?" And that's her dad, almost always calm.

"Yes dad I'm fine." She was just about to continue to ask him about Kar, but was cut off by her mother hugging her. That startled her, it took her a few seconds to hug her back.

"Didn't I tell you, I'll buy you a broom on your 5th birthday. Why don't you listen to me?"

Sia frowned. 5th birthday? As far as she remembered, she had her 5th birthday almost 11 years ago.

That's when she notice, her hands, they are almost 4 year old's and her feet too. She had not paid attention to her voice earlier but now that she thought about it, it was so childish (not like the childish which she used with her father and Sis).

'What is happening here? What's wrong with me? Am I dreaming?'

Just then the door opened and a small head of an 8 year old girl poked in. It looks like her sister.

"Mom you have a firecall from Mungo's." The girl spoke in a childish voice, but the tone she used was like an adult's.

"Oh. There must be an emergency. Kar, would you please be a darling and stay with your sister today?"

"Yep." And with that her mom was gone.

"Kar, what time is it? " Her dad asked.

"9:30 am~".

"Merlin, I'm late for office. Girls see you in the evening." He kissed their foreheads and left.

Sierra was still very confused. She stared at the only person left in the room.

The little girl climbed on the bed and came to her. And... hugged her.

That's weird. Don't get her wrong, she and her sister (who she thought the girl was) loved each other very much. But hugging, they did that usually when one of them was upset or felt like cuddling.

Sia patted her back, "Sis what's wrong? And where are we? What about Al, Sten and Sam are they okay? And why do you look like this?"

Karalyn pulled back and looked at her, "Sia... Do you remember the cliff too? ".

What did she mean?

"Of course".

Kar took a deep breath before resuming to talk.

"Sia, we died."

"But yesterday I woke up to find that I had turned 8 years old and the present year is 1985. We have travelled 35 years in the past. Therefore everything is so... old. And we are in the Wizarding world, you fell from a broom. I was trying to digest all this so I did not get time to check on others. We will do that today."

Wow.

'That was... too much.'

Sierra just stared at her, and tried to digest all this. It did not take her long as after living with her sister for 16 years, she had at least gotten used to Karalyn's way of telling things bluntly.

Karalyn White was a girl who believed in speaking straight and never sugarcoating her words. She always spoke the truth. Sia had often told her that she shows the mirror by shoving it on your face.¯\_(ツ)_/¯

"Kar. How did you find all this?"

"Mom was cooking using magic and dad apparated home from the Ministry, he works there. So I connected the dots. I did not get much time to search other things. Oh and there is a house elf by the name of Peach working at our place. PEACH!" She called.

There was a loud pop and a house elf appeared. Sia jumped at that.

"Yes miss Karalyn." The little elf squeaked. She was wearing a white dress with a grey apron.

"Peach, is breakfast ready?" Karalyn asked the creature as if it was everyday that you see a freaking house elf appear in your room.

"Yes miss." Peach answered dutifully.

"We'll be down in a min please set the table."

"Yes miss." And with another pop the elf was gone.

Karalyn turns to her, "Sia, lets eat first. We have many thing to search and digest. And I was too worried when you did not wake up yesterday, to eat properly. I'm hungyyyy now." She spoke the last part in a childish tone.

Sia smiled at that. Though she loved her mother so much that she could never imagine a life without her, but she also never teased her mother like she did with the other two. It was always her dad and sister with whom she joked around. And talking childishly was a daily routine for them. That's just how they talked many of the times.

"okie~"
