Like all wars, the war that lasted eleven years between the Moon Kingdom and the Sheng dynasty was for resources. At the start, it was called the war between the West Moon Continent and the Risen Sun continent. Both continents wanted to control the resources-rich area between them called the 'shallow sea'.
The Shallow Sea was a large expanse of water that separates the Risen Sun continent and the West Moon continent also called the 'Sid Ruder continent'.
The Red Moon kingdom was the dominating power in the Sid Ruder continent. It has strong armies composed of knights and Mages.
The Risen Sun continent was also called 'Kuyuqi continent' was divided between two powers: The Sheng dynasty ruled the west and the Ming dynasty ruled the east. The warriors one the Kuyuqi continent are called cultivators.
The war started between the Red Moon kingdom and the Sheng dynasty to control the three main islands of The Shallow Sea. The region was very rich with resources and sparsely populated.
Since the beginning, both powers deployed their strongest combatant to land a decisive blow and bring the war to a swift end. That didn't happen. Both powers were equals so they struggled and fought back and forth for more than ten years. which resulted in millions of deaths from both sides. The islands of The Shallow sea were soaked with the blood of Mages and cultivators alike.
Suddenly, a new element broke the stalemate. While The Sheng dynasty was absorbed in the war in The Shallow Sea region, The Ming dynasty attacked them from behind.
To the Sheng dynasty who exhausted most of its power after ten years of prolonged war, the attack from the Ming dynasty was a serious threat to its existence. Emperor Sheng Xuan was forced to choose which war to lose. He had decided to lead his elite forces and retreat from the Shallow Sea to defend his capital city.
He ordered the rest of his forces to cover his retreat by withdrawing slowly to Kuyuqi continent. Emperor Sheng knew that he was using them as meat shields to gain time. He needed time to build a strong defense in the capital. It was the only chance his kingdom has to survive.
In concordance with emperor Sheng Xuan's expectation, after he left The Shallow Sea with his elite forces. The Red Moon kingdom unleashed its greatest attack and started massacring the retreating Sheng forces.
At that point, something unexpected happened. One man stopped the attacks of Red Moon forces by himself!
He fought hundreds of Red Moon elite forces and forced them to retreat. The Red Moon king was forced to take action. After exchanging a few moves, he discovered he was no match for that man.
Later, he discovered that the man's name was Long Sanshi.
Just like that, Long Sanshi stopped the war of the Shallow Sea earning in the process earning the admiration of the Sheng Emperor. Following that, a treaty was made to divide the three main islands of The Shallow Sea. The island to the west is for the Red Moon Kingdom, the island to the east for the Sheng dynasty, and the central Island was claimed by Long Sanshi.
Ten years after the end of the war, the region was peaceful as a whole. But nothing can stop human greed, small scale wars still occurred.
In a small region inside the Sheng dynasty, the Wu clan destroyed the Yao clan. They killed most of the men and took the women and children as slaves.
Yao Feng was one of the victims of the war. He lived a tragic life. His father was killed before his eyes. His mother used as a cultivation cauldron until she lost her Qi then she was put to work on a brothel.
Yao Feng lost his innocence at a very young age. He was traumatized by the daily bullying he received. He became pessimistic and tended to see the worst in humanity.
