2 Rebirth

Benedict woke up in an unfamiliar room, the room was spacious, observing the room, he found that it has its own TV, game consoles, collections of games and anime characters, all his favorite when he was young. Even the collectible toys from WcDo and Jalibee are aranged neatly on a glass shelf.

'Tsk, dont tell me, Mr. Manager also made a mistake!' One must know that he grew up in a middle class family, his father works abroad to feed them and his mother has side jobs cleaning the house of his Aunt for extra income. They live in a two bedroom house, one room for the boys, he and his brother share, and another for the girls where his sister and mother sleeps in.

Now, seeing where he woke up in, he can't imagine what happened. Ben stood up and went to the a door which he thinks is the bathroom. He went in to wash and see his face, to see if its still the same face as his past life. Seeing the familiar face, he's confused, 'I have the same face, then why am I in a different house. Where is the synchronization of memories like in those novels!?'

As they say, "ask and you shall receive", a massive headache hit him and he collapsed on the bathroom floor.

As his memories assimilates, he discovered that he was still Benedict except that instead of being a child from a middle class family, he is now a rich second generation youth. His father started from scratch and is now a successful businessman.

Aside from that, everything is the same, they still live in DeepWell Village, an hour and a half distance away from DownHill City of Cotton Province. He just graduated from high school and already accepted at Cotton State University.

Opening his eyes, he saw his Mom's worried eyes and his two siblings Jace and Jonalyn. "Mom, what happened?" "We saw you lying on the bathroom floor, so I called Jace to help me carry you back to bed. How do you feel Ben?" "Mom, why don't we call a doctor to check brother's condition?" suggested Jonalyn. "No, I'm alright. I just need some rest." "Are you sure brother? You have a big bump at the back of your head." said Jace slightly laughing at the big bump on his head. Ben smiled "I'm ok, It'll heal in a few days. Stop worrying about me. Did you all eat breakfast? I'm kinda hungry now." I complained to make them not worry so much. Mom sighed, "Alright, I'll prepare food for you."

Seeing Ben alright, his Mom went out to prepare food, his siblings also left him alone so he can rest.

After breakfast, he toured their own house, a little excited at the thought that their family is rich in this time. He sat at the bench in the garden and thought about what happened in his past life. He's going to college soon and there he will meet his wife Karin. He's not sure if he wants to reunite with his wife or carve a new path in this life. "Oh well, I'll cross the bridge when I get there. If I remember correctly, I was a year ahead of her in college."

"Brother, let's eat!" called Jace, waking me up from my thoughts.

After eating, we gathered at the living area to play games and catch up. Apparently, my Dad is still overseas, negotiating a contract in Country L. My Mom stays at home, she's in charge of cooking but we have house helpers to clean the house and other chores.

"By the way Ben, you're going to be a college student soon, make sure you buy all the needed things as an architect student. Do you want to find a dorm near your school?"

"Mom, I still have more than a month before uni classes starts. Can't wait for me to leave?" My Mom smiled at my joke and explained "I just want you to be ready, it's gonna be hard and I want to help you find a good dorm, in case you want it."

"I'm just kidding mom, I think I'll find a dorm, our house is far from uni so I'll have a hard time waking up early."

"Ok, if you want, I trust you, so you better be responsible on your own, and if you need help, just call me or your Dad."

"Thanks Mom!" I hugged my mom and felt warmth in my heart, my family is still the same as in my past life despite the riches. My eyes turned red from knowing that their unconditional love is still there.

Time passed and I spent my days idling at home, playing with my brother, watching animes and also buying the things I need before class starts. I also found a dorm to stay in while studying, so I just need to move there before class.

"Brother, can we go shopping for today?" Jonalyn ask sweetly. Oh I had goosebumps, my sister never treated me like this before. "S-sure, why don't we also invite Jace?" "Ok, I'll go ask him too!" Jonalyn skips to Jace's room to ask him.

We all went to the mall and now I know why I had goosebumps, Jonalyn started buying clothes, shoes, bags and other accessories and she made me pay for all of it. Phew, good thing my savings are sufficient. I also bought Jace some of his favorite games and new gadgets to balance the attention and strive to be a good brother to both of them. I didn't have the luxury to treat them like this in my past life even if I want to.

Then, we went home to eat dinner as I don't want to miss my mom's cooking now that I have the opportunity to taste them again. We ate dinner happily and before I went to bed, Jace and Jonalyn hugged me, "Thank you for taking us out Brother Ben, we will miss you when you go to uni."

I pat both of their heads gently, "I won't be gone for long, I will visit when I'm not busy and we can hang out again." Truthfully, I also don't want to leave but for my future plans, I'll need privacy to think and act without having to think on how to explain to my family. I'm already an old man in a body of my teenage years, I'm already used to being by myself and making decisions.
