Preparations

I had commanded them all to retreat yet many were too far to get to the dungeon in time. When the armies of men arrive at the sole entrance of the dungeon many of my demos will be left out. While I am quite grateful that there is just one entrance to defend, I will lose many demons on the defense, which to be fair is the only thing that matters.

Those demons who will remain outside are currently regrouping. I plan to use them in some kind of harassing actions behind enemy lines. If that can be of any help against such an army. For starters I don't even know a thing about strategy or tactics! I am following the ideas of my st*pid adviser.

"Hey I am seriously thinking of proper strategies to survive this attack!"

"Then why do you seem delighted of this whole situation!?"

"You misunderstand sir. I'm simply happy at all the energy we would collect afterwards!"

"We must survive to collect that energy!! Tell me aren't you happy that I have to listen you carefully now?!"

"No way sir... Pfff that is absolutely not the case... Pfff"

"YOU ARE LAUGHING BASTARD!!!"

A loyal servant unable to lie ehm!

"Sir I think we should get back to work."

Certainly get out while you are winning. Cunning bastard...

Anyways I have seen their armies through the eyes of my demons and... there's millions of soldiers. I don't know who we piss off but they seem to have sent any bastard in the world...

This seems impossible. But nothing should be harder than living in hell. I shall succeed. No, I must succeed.

It made it!

I have sent a demon capable of disguising itself as a human to the human camp. Now it is inside. With him I will be able to gather some information on my enemy.

Meanwhile I keep summoning demons. The demons did collect a lot of energy when they were out so I'm now able to summon quite a number of them. Yet this number is not enough. Not enough at all. Of all the demons who got out only about a quarter of them will be able to get into the dungeon. The rest have either perished or will remain behind the enemy. I will be able to double our demons in the dungeon with the collected energy... in reality I should have been able to do more but a lot of energy get lost with the demons outside.

About the defense of the dungeon... well this place is pretty much a maze with only one way out or in. We have been working on some defenses along the path to the throne room as well as outside. We have made a wall outside as well as a huge pit to hinder the enemies in their entrance and tons of traps. Inside we have put traps and some walls. The dungeon walls are too strong to be modified or destroyed.

Winning this seems impossible. For starters I will win either if they retreat or if I kill them all. Both options are rather... improbable. My best chance thought is to make them retreat, which would be only a temporary victory on our side. Either way I don't know how to make such an army retreat! How do I even get them to retreat? Why would they even need to retreat for?

"Well sir I would say that such a large army needs a huge amount of supplies. Those supplies should all be coming our way. If we destroy their supplies they would starve and so become weaker. They would lose moral and would eventually retreat. Remember that our demons make all the surrounding lands a wasteland."

I'm starting to like this adviser.

"I'm honored sir!"

If only he could stop reading my thoughts.

"Well sir that is because you are incapable of hiding your thoughts."

"Why do I feel you did enjoy saying that last part quite a LOT."

"You are mistaken sir! It's not like I wish to teach you how to hide your thoughts."

So that is it. Well I have more important things to do now...

My spy has finally got into the enemy camp. Now how I am supposed to spy the enemy?

"Listen to them, my lord?"

Well yes let's start with that. Hiding behind a tent I listened through my demon a conversation.

"Hey Dilla did you hear them? They are sending the nine corp first."

"Of course they would! You know our generals want to show the other nations we are not to be meddled with!"

"They got it right!"

"Those nine corp will hopefully get them all killed."

"What now are you afraid of the fight? Those demons are strong but we can easily overwhelm them with numbers. If we manage it nicely we can do it with minimal loses."

"Yes, I hear the four corp have killed already a hundred demons and lose none of their own."

"Bullshit! I saw them digging holes for their deaths."

"True! Those demons aren't all that easy."

"Well anyway they don't stand a chance against the seven armies."

"Yes that's right!"

"The seven armies are the strongest!"

""Yeah!""

The enemy's moral seems generally high. But I don't find this really helpful! If anything this just shows me in what a bad situation I am, right?"

"Calm down my lord. If you are calm you will do better."

Anyways. I move the demon through our connection. I move carefully hiding the demon. Then I pick another talk.

"...and the eleven corp has stopped their march for a week already. I think they too will be left behind. As for the other nations I've saw their numbers diminish. They too are savings their troops for the battle to come."

"It seems not even the demon threat is able to unite the nations. This is nothing to what we ourselves will do. I want you to infiltrate the enemy camp."

"Yes ma– Who's there!?"

I was discovered?? Run! I take complete control over the demon and run with all its might and hide far away. I don't know if it's enough though. But running too much is dangerous. I don't know the place and so I could finish somewhere I not supposed to be.

"Hey there are you lost? This is the army camp."

An old man approached me. I didn't notice at all. I must have been quite tired... well not me but the demon.

"Yes, I am sorry"

"Don't worry this is not the generals camp. You can enter here though you shouldn't. What's your name?"

"... Dilla"

"Are you a girl perhaps? You look like a man!"

Sh*it. I thought it was a male name.

"W-Well my mother thought it was a female one..."

"Hahahaha! Your mother sure got that one wrong! Where are you from lad?"

... I hate you. You make hard questions for an uninformed spy like me.

"I come from a village now destroyed by those demons sir."

"Oh I see. Well that's too bad."

Good! That work perfectly nice!

"...Those demons sure rampaged quite a lot. That witch must be laughing at us now."

"What witch?"

"The witch from the prophecy."

Prophecy? I know too little about this place. But could it perhaps be about...

"I'm sorry sir but I haven't listened too that prophecy."

"AHH?! How is that possible?... Come here lad I'm going to tell you then. It's unacceptable that someone does not know the prophecy even a poor young village boy."

Is he insulting me?
