Break

"Where are they?!"

'Sir they are in the north side shall I move all the remaining squadrons?'

"Move them now! I am going myself too!"

I shout out even if it is completely unneeded. I do so to alleviate my stress. The heroes are gone. They are no longer here. This was a fake attack from the start! Larger numbers of soldiers here didn't mean a stronger force but to accurately tell so is hard since the energy looks around the same. I can't obviously tell a hero is much stronger than any normal human soldier buy between soldiers it doesn't seem all that different! Even so the strength of them fighting together is much greater than that of every each one alone. Ahhh it's not time to find the reason for my failure! I must run faster there!

"How is it?"

'Severe damage to the wall on multiple points. The enemy is advancing fast.'

Damn this isn't good. That heroine was capable of transporting people quickly. It must have been that. I don't see any other way they could elude my perception and my incoming attack at the same time. Well to be fair that attack obstructed part of my perception which was what they must have been aiming for. Damn it should have waited!

'There is a breach through the wall!'

Damn!! "Where!?"

'The foremost northern part sir. And yes they are there.'

Thought so. If they break through the wall I doubt they would stop. They will advance further after all they are strong enough to survive through such hardships. But I will not allow so. I must stop them at any cost.

"Where are the squadrons?"

'Of the four squadrons two are already in site while the remaining are on their way. One of the last is almost at destination.'

"Alright split the last squadron in two. Send one half to meet me at their location. The other will remain as reserve."

'Understood.'

I run even faster. If they break through the wall on another point this battle will be even harder. A breach through the wall makes that place's defence weaker and I don't have enough demons to defend such places.

'Sir many soldiers are crossing through the breach. The pressure on the walls is getting much harder.'

'Got it.'

We may have to retreat sooner. But this is dangerous. How should I perform a retreat in this kind of situation? We must avoid losing walls. Even if we retreat how can I secure the heroes will not break through there too while we get in position.

I must try to defend this wall as much as I can. Well if it does become inopportune I will order a retreat before is too late.

"I'm here. I'm taking command of the squadron. Report any important developments on the other parts."

'Yes sir.'

The heroes are there. My demons are barely enough to keep them from advancing too much. This is actually taking many demons from the walls making those remaining over there to work harder too. Three squadrons of reserve have already joined the defence lessening the burden of the ones here but even so it is still a very hard fight.

These heroes are truly my most dangerous enemy. I wish I killed some before. Such a pity. Such a waste.

Let's get into this.

I'm not attacking them with magic now. I will go fight there face to face. It's not the same for those behind them though. You will get rousted.

I throw a powerful magic attack at the ones coming through the breach in the wall. The fire magic creates a hellish scene at that place. Many unable to protect themselves are burn to ashes within seconds. Those who resisted are not really fine either. The demons at the sides profit to attack with more ferocity to the weakened soldiers still dealing with the flames all over the place.

Meanwhile I charge at the heroes whose attention did shift for a bit to the scene behind them. This gave me precious seconds to perform a sudden attack. Behind me my demons follow. They can't keep up with my pace but they aren't all that much behind. They will do just fine.

My first strike was aimed to one of the forefront heroes. He noticed my attack on the last second and barely prevented the fatal strike. Even so he is push back by a following kick and he falls to the ground. I immediately shift my attack to a hero on the side who is coming to help his companion. He didn't expect such a sudden turn of me with such a deadly attack again.

He defends himself and steps back a little. I won't give him any time to rest so I immediately step forward to perform a new attack with my sword. Just before it though I glance to the side and I see Lena coming my way while the other heroes already aware of the situation are also shifting their attention. Soon this will become a seven vs. one battle. I can't let that happen so easily though.

The hero once more blocks my sword but this time, using the momentum I have, I give him a powerful kick so the side. The hero loses balance so I strike with earth magic at his back, which throws him to the ground. I then throw a fire magic attack before stepping back.

Just as I do so an earth wall appears before the falling hero and a magician hero gets to the position. My fire magic attack throw just in time reaches the hero in part while all the rest crash against the earth wall creating a perfect veil of dust for me to move unnoticed by the incoming hero. I move to the magicians heroes on the other side who are still dealing with some demons on the sides and helping a little those behind. Lena and Steve are coming to engage me.

I immediately create a wall near the place where Lena is coming from. Soon afterwards the wall is destroyed by a lighting attack but the attack is nullified by the now destroyed wall. I knew well Lena was going to use it. It may be fast once it is ongoing but if one predicts it then one can stop it beforehand. Unfortunately for her if it doesn't hit it is just a little waste of time on her side and it is so convenient for me. Even so Steve is still running undisturbed towards me.

While I was about to attack Steve with magic to stop him I feel a magic attack coming my way. This time it is from the front. Eleonora is attacking me with an earth magic. It is the perfect magic for this situation. Earth magic creates such a tangible obstacles between me and my target that no matter what I do I will most probably lose a bit of time, and a lot of time if I don't handle it well.

I shift my course knowing that if I keep going that way it would not end well. I run towards Steve who is still running my way.

I fake a fire magic attack. Steve stops to defend against it but the attack goes on a curve and ends up hitting the first hero I attacked. He gets actually hit by it stopping him completely.

Steve diverted his attention for a second to his companion but it didn't hinder him much in defending against my already incoming attack from my sword. Both our swords clashes as we look at one another.

"We meet again, Steve."
