4 weekend

Chapter Four

The next day rolls around, and I tumble out of my bed into the bathroom to shower. I dress in my normal attire and usual makeup and make my way downstairs.

Alex is waiting in the kitchen, I move around him to make myself some cereal for once.

"Soooo, last night huh?" I stop in the middle of grabbing a bowl.

"What about it?" I pretend not to know what he's talking about, making him roll his eyes.

"You said you were going out with someone." He states.

"Oh yeah, that." He grabs the cereal box out of my hands.

"Hey! I was using that!" I reach for it back but he only lifts it higher.

"You're going to tell me what you did yesterday and who with." He says looking down at me, I huff giving in.

"I went on a date, there you happy?" I asked reaching for the box again.

"With who?" He sings, moving the box again causing me to groan.

"Om my fuck Alex, his name is Luke, okay? Now can I please have the box! I'm hungry." He hands me back the box and puts his arms up in defense.

"I hate you," I say as I pour the cereal and grab the milk. He fakes hurt.

"You can't possibly hate me, Emma, I'm the best brother in the world."

"You're my only brother." I state matter of factly.

"Whatever."

I sit down next to Luke and he passes me a piece of folded paper. I take it and look to find a number. I look up at him a lil confused.

"I forgot to give you my number last night" he explains himself. I nod and smile.

"Text me anytime." He smiles.

Some girl after our exchange has been glaring at me, and honestly, it's getting a little uncomfortable. I don't want to be on anyone's bad side, but knowing my luck...

Biology was not as exciting. Ashton stared out the window while I tried to listen to the teacher go on about some species I had no idea about.

By the time lunch got around, I couldn't shake the feeling that the girl from first hour. Knowing my luck she'd probably start shit with me sometime soon. Out of the corner of my eye, I could see Luke making his way towards our table. He smiles as he pulls a chair out beside me, while Isabel stares confused.

The rest of lunch consists of me and Isabel gossiping with Luke about random things going on up within the school and what happens at parties on Friday nights. Turns out this school is all about its parties, and anyone can attend.

After my last class I bolt to my locker, Isabel was already waiting for me there. I grab my stuff and Isabel and I leave.

"So what's with you today?" She asks me.

"Oh, nothing"

"Yeah right." She rolls her eyes.

"It's nothing." I persist.

"It's Luke isn't it?" She gives me a knowing look.

"What? No."

"Do you guys like have a 'thing'." She smirks in conclusion. I can feel my cheeks burning and I can't help but cover them with my hands.

"Pshhh, nooo."

"I knew it! The way he stares at you, sits by you, lunch today..."

"Okay, I get it." I laugh.

"Just saying."

"I went out with him the other day.." I admit. I still can't believe that I just met him...

"What? And you didn't tell me!?"

"Yea, I'm sorry, at least you know now." I shrug.

"Well, I'd say." She just rolled her eyes as we meet up with Alex.

We get to my house and my mom is gone.

"Okay, please stay away from me with all your girly shit, I'm still not over the last time." Alex asks backing away to his room.

"Okay, you idiot."

"Meow." Alex tries to be sarcastic.

"Ruff." My sarcasm speaks right back.

Isabel starts laughing.

"What?" Me and Alex ask at the same time.

"Nothing."

I guess she's not used to siblings fighting. Me and Alex have gotten into some pretty stupid arguments if you ask me. Fighting over the best color was the funniest one.

I lead Isabel to my room.

"I wish I had your room!" She squeaks as she runs around to everything. I haven't even unpacked everything yet, I had a few boxes piled in the corner waiting to get unpacked still. I just laugh, it's been forever since I've had anyone over.

I look around after placing my backpack down to find Isabel in my closet.

"What are you doing?" I laugh.

"Going through your stuff." She smiles at me.

"Yeah, I can see that."

We spend the next hour or so talking about our past and about the people in our school. By the time my mom gets home Isabel had already left.

I hear a light knock at my door and then Alex emerges from behind it. I smile sitting up in my bed. He sits down at the edge.

"I'm glad you're enjoying this school, unlike the last."

"I honestly was expecting the worst, but I'm really glad we moved here."

"It's nice seeing you happy again, Emma."

With that he gets up to leave, leaving me alone to contemplate the last few days. If only I knew what was to come, I would have taken back what I said before. . .
