Prologue

In the year 2045, a ground-breaking discovery shook the world. Gemma Smoot, a renowned professor from CalTech, invented the Vortex Manipulator which could open a stable passage in space. There was however, a catch. No matter how much it was tweaked or changed, it couldn't transport people on earth.

The Vortex Manipulator would transport its user to a parallel universe populated with strange and dangerous creatures. This world was dubbed Eden. The world then entered a new stage, the people of earth took it upon themselves to enter Eden and explore its vast depths. Once inside of Eden humankind found that they could push there own bodies into a state of quickened evolution through the use of the flesh of the creatures there.

During the next ten years humankind evolved there own genes to that of what they believed to be the peak. They were wrong. And so came the first true Evolver.

The president of the Alliance stumbled upon a spring which he used to further evolve. When he exited Eden to tell the Alliance the good news he heard a voice ring out in his head telling him he could no longer enter the first garden. This voice was a common occurrence as it was the same voice which told him he had upgraded his evolution, this time however he was shocked. He reentered the Vortex Manipulator and teleported to Eden, what happened afterwards shocked the world.

When the president teleported he was not teleported to Eden but another world populated with stronger, more fearsome creatures. This was the discovery which enlightened humanity onto a new path, the path of evolution.

And so began the new age of genes which lead humanity into a new stage of life. The further they evolved the more they discovered, it was as if they had stepped into a bottomless chest of treasure that endowed their bodies with immeasurable power.

The year is now 2260, 215 years after mankind entered the first garden, and a boy of 15 years and 364 days lay on his bed staring at the ceiling unable to go to sleep.
