2 Introduction: Dari

Work, work and more work.

Sometimes she would like to escape from all the responsibilities and go back to California. She had so much fun there. Her skin tanned, her hair glimmered, and her skin was soft: delicate. It was not full of calluses or pimples. Her hair was not rough or damp. Her eyes were not full of despair nor misery. She was happy.

And that boy. She could not quite remember his name, but he was so handsome. He made her gap year ten times better, and it was so sad that they met at the end of the summer. His black hair, long arms, strong posture and big brown eyes, made her face light up and forget the gloom she was living on.

London. Such a fuss for no reason. It was just an industrial, grey city full of uneducated, dirty thugs, ready to harass you at any given moment! She hated this city. She was so desperate to move to somewhere in the U.S, maybe Los Angeles even! It would be so much better than this!

The only reason she kept herself put was because of Ethan. Ethan and Dari were together for about 4 months now and they were happy. Mostly happy. Dari did like him, and she did not have any serious complaints from him, but he was not quite who she wanted. She wanted someone with a modern, adventurous, culture to travel the world with her! Someone spontaneous and loud with no sense of rules or protocols! Someone like that boy from last Summer. She still could not remember his name, but she knew that was the one for her! She found it weird because so many people stayed in contact with her after she left. Many like her posts and commented here and there but not him. She tried to find his socials through others but could not find him. It was like he was not even real.

Sometimes she felt invaded. Any family she still talked to wanted to know about her time in California; where she stayed, what she did, who she was with. It was exhausting that all these people gave so much attention to her. She always liked being alone, without needing to explain herself to no one about nothing. That is why she wanted to go back to California. No one there ever tried to push her, to make her tell them an embarrassing story, or how her day went. She was free of everyone there!

Her brother was the worst of all the relatives though. He called her every single day making boring small talk and telling her about his day. Whenever she tried to hang up, he would find a new thing to talk about. It was ridiculous! Whenever the name, "Fillip" popped up on her phone she knew there was no possible escape. His excuse was that he was "worried" and "wanted to know if she's okay". She never understood it. Even if she would die the next day him, calling her, would not help. She would still be dead, phone call or not, so what was the point?

However, there was someone else she met and California. He was so nice. Maybe a bit too nice. She could not remember his name either. They had spent some time together throughout last Summer and to be honest she did not mind it. He was so reserved and sweet to her, but she was never that invested into him. He still liked her pictures and viewed her stories on Instagram, but she knew it was out of politeness. He was very polite. She always thought that guy would end up as a dad, having a stable job and being in a happy marriage. She sometimes wished she would also be happy with that kind of life. You know, stable and calm. But she could not possibly be satisfied with that. Her spirit would not fade away, and her heart would be forever longing fun and adventures. She was certain of it.

Whenever she was at work, filing reports and sending emails, she would dream about that boy. Not the one she met at the beach, the other one she slept with after she had a few. Maybe, sometimes she would think of the other one too, but it was more out of jealousy than want. It was like she knew that the boy from the beach, would become a man one day, and he would find a woman to be with, while she would stay a girl longing for that guy, from the shiny bar, that made her feel ... Happy.

She felt bad for Ethan. She knew she was wasting his time until she would take the decision to leave and find that guy. He would be heartbroken. Because Ethan himself was like the boy from the beach, Loving, sweet, polite... A perfect candidate one would say, but not her. She wanted something more than the usual dream guy that would give you his world. She wanted someone that she could share her world with. Someone that would take her breath away with the reward to be a kiss and a smile. Someone that would give her space and would be right back when a new adventure would pop up.

Someone like her.
