2 First chapter

It was the beginning of September, the weather was getting colder and colder with each passing day, a severe winter was waiting for us. I got out of bed on my way to the bathroom to recover for my first day of sophomore year at the University of Fiction. A year ago I moved to Seattle with Miss Linda Hart, my best friend from 5th grade, with whom we are still separated. We lived in a small apartment near the university, it was not big, but it was nice and cozy. Linda and I love to sit on our small terrace and talk about different things, but the most common topic was my first book I was writing for the second year. You must be wondering why I write a book for so long. Well, here's the answer, at the beginning of last year I decided to write about past lives, but since there are many theories on this topic, I was busy studying and asking eternal questions about their opinion. And of course everyone had different views on this. I didn't have much time to write because I was studying, working and going, as I said, to question and interview various scientists who could not always devote their valuable time to me. The title of the book was "The Mystery of Past Lives" I decided it was because there are a lot of things around the past that we can't understand and we still have to figure out whether it's a dream or a feeling like we've been to a place or met a specific person. but we just can't remember where and when. That's why I decided that I want to write on this very interesting topic for someone. So, after Linda and I were ready to embark on new experiences, we went hand in hand to the university discussing the news that will be available this year.

"Well?" She said with a smile. "There will be new students this year, who knows, you might fall in love with someone." I laughed at the nonsense he was saying and answered.

-Enough, Linda, you know that I don't have time for this nonsense, I have to finish the book, the deadline for submission is the end of November, by then I should have finished.

-Don't be boring Anna, last year she rejected Adam Jenklis, and all the girls in college are dying for him, then she rejected Kevin, Chris, Jugus, how long will you run away from romance, justifying yourself with the book.

-You know that it is very important for me to finish the book, it is my only chance to be accepted in Lant Sound.

-Come on, let's go in and see our new director-pull me to the newsroom to see who this new director is. There were various rumors about him, some said he was an old uncle with a bad temper, others said he was handsome but very picky. We entered the hall and sat down on the previous chairs, not long after the whole hall was filled with students who whispered and commented on our mysterious new director because our old one was years old and retired after our first semester.

After a minute, everyone fell silent watching a young man, perhaps in his twenties, who stood on a platform-like stage posing as William Kurt, the new director of the university. He was a visibly slender man, with light brown hair and chilly variegated blue eyes, who, when he looked at you, always made a hole in you. I looked at Linda, who instead of listening was looking around at our new classmates.

-So children, this year there will be a competition for the best story, the deadline is until the end of the month. You can sign up to participate with Miss Angas, I wish you a pleasant and happy year - with that he finished his speech and went down for a moment our eyes met an iron smile appeared on his face then walked away with Mr. Ian Ward who taught us poetry .

Mr. Ryan Kirby, our class teacher, came to us and smiled cheerfully.

"Well, children, I'm glad to see you again, how did you spend the summer?" He asked with a warm smile.

"Great," we all said, and smiled back at him.

-You'll tell me in a moment, and now let me give you the new program and whoever wants to sign up for the contest that Mr. Kurt mentioned, go to Miss Angas's teacher's room.

Our class teacher was 30 years old with light brown eyes, not very long light brown hair, tall and trained, he could be seen even through his clothes, not that I looked at him ... it's just obvious. He is a great joker and he is never bored in his philosophy classes, everyone liked him, and the girls in my class were crazy about him, in which there is nothing wrong with me. We got up from our seats and followed Mr. Kirby to the teacher's room. our new programs and then we all went to the hall for our first lecture which was historical literature, taught by Mr. Ian Jenkins, he was about forty years old, slightly plump with black hair, brown eyes and always wore a cane-like stick whenever he saw that someone was not careful, he was pounding with the stick and he was looking badly, he was always looking badly, the only time I had seen him smile was when we finished the first semester. So everyone sat down and we waited for the lecture to begin.

-Ana, look- Linda pushed me, which made me frown looking at her.

-What to look at Linda.

-The new one from the left, isn't he cute.

"Are you serious? Be careful if Mr. Jenkins catches you distracted by his watch, you'll get in trouble!"

-Oh, that's enough, I'm not doing anything wrong, be a little less boring.

-I'm not boring, I just don't want to mess up with some stupid boy. I whispered and looked back at the gentleman who was already looking at us badly.

-So let's fellow students remember what historical fiction is- he began- Does anyone remember? -Added and looked at all of us, I raised my hand timidly and smiled slightly.

- Stand up, Miss Becker, and tell us what historical literature is!

I stood up, took a breath, and began talking, hoping everything was right.

-Historical fiction is an art that uses the word.

"And what are its basic shapes?" He raised one eyebrow slightly and folded his arms.

-The main forms are-I continued- poetry and prose.-surprise appeared on his face and a slight smile played on his face.

-Great, but can you tell us what forms they are divided into?

-I think so...

-We are listening to you-he leaned on his desk, everyone was looking at me, I was a little worried, I closed my eyes, took a deep breath and when I opened my eyes again our new director was sitting next to the gentleman and like everyone else he was waiting to hear my answer.

-They are subdivided into literary genres which are lyrics, epic and drama sir.-I answered the question and the teacher clapped his hands which slightly startled me.

-Good Miss Becker, can you sit down, does anyone else remember anything on the subject? -He looked around, but everyone sat in silence -Okay then-he added- I will choose, Mr. Michaelson stand up and tell us what it means of prose?

The young boy stood up and looked much more worried than I was, he was one of the new ones who had arrived this year.

"Sir ... I don't remember," his low voice said, and after his answer, Mr. Junkins frowned again, and the director just watched quietly.

"Anyone but Miss Anna, do you remember anything?" He asked, and everyone was silent. "Miss Becker, could you tell us the meaning of prose?" He turned to me again, his eyes once again fixed on me, but some blue eyes stared so hard that I had the feeling that they could even read my thoughts.

-A-I ..- I started stuttering-M-oga ..

-Come on-invite me, and I stood up, took a breath and answered- Fiction is also called fiction. These are stories, short stories, short stories, novels.

-And what is poetry? -He continued with the questions.

-Poetry are literary works written in poetic form. The verses obey a certain rhythm and rhyme. Works can be short, like the Japanese haiku, or long, like John Milton's poem Paradise Lost. The poem can tell a story, tragic or funny, it can be sentimental and reveal the poet's deepest feelings. I also answered this question.

"Perfect, you've been doing a stunning Miss Becker since day one, you really surprised me," said our gentleman. "You're free, I'll see you next hour, and don't be late."

Everyone hurried out of the room, and I dragged, as always.

"I'm impressed with you, young lady," I heard a hoarse voice behind me, and I turned and two blue eyes were staring at me, followed by a slight smile, "That's exactly what our director was like."

-Thank you-I smiled kindly.

-I will be happy if you participate in the competition for the best story, who knows if you win I can recommend you somewhere.-I looked at him in disbelief, it took me about five minutes to understand what was happening around me and I hurried to answer-I will join of course, but not to recommend me somewhere, but to show what I'm capable of, and now if you'll excuse me I'm losing my rest - I turned my back on him leaving the hall, looked around for Linda and as soon as I saw her I rushed to her .
