8 Bones

After having supper, they left the mess hall.

"If it wasn't knife! Could it be vampire's nails? It is the full moon and such crime might happen among werewolves and vampires." Zhao guessed.

"Come on! I will show you then judge it your own." The Doctor stated and led Zhao to the medical examiner section.

"Do you think that is related to the normal crimes?"

Zhao asked as they turned to an empty corridor. She was wearing a mysterious expression that showed it wasn't a crime.

"Not a crime! Not even related to our home, Zhao!" She told him the idea and seemed to be sure about it.

Something pecked his brain as they entered inside the autopsy room and he decided to let his thought shifting out of his head.

"Shadow Aligner's diamond blades have thin cuts! Isn't it the same?"

"No, I checked that though and realized the diamond blades leave burning traces. This whole noon, I was working on the recorded cases, and have been surveying to see if there was one. There is nothing similar in Vita."

"Could it be a wraith?" He mentioned that but already felt a chill of dread within him.

"I don't know and let's pray that if it weren't from a mutant wraith or… come on, ignore me, and see it yourself!" She placed her thumb on the fingerprinting touch lock, the door clicked and got open.

The room was colder than outside, soulless, everything white, pale, and became even more numb with the motionless bodies on the cold beds. She rolled over the white blanket. Zhao rubbed his eyes off the werewolf's body. He already saw a vampire one but they were thin and pale themselves but this one looked even more terrifying.

"The wraiths leave no skin or inward organs! They only leave the skeleton behind! Somehow, they just absorb the features they need. The wounds that they cause comes in three thin rows as if you scrubbed your skin with your nails. And their bites are like whelp bite but poisonous." She explained.

The young man bent on the cut area that was left open after checking.

"Doctor, I saw this sort of cuts!"

"Thank gods! So what can cause it?"

"Look at this! Straight-line cut and exactly under the breast. It looks like a paper cut! I experienced it too much while turning the pages of a new book!"

Doctor's eyes circled. A cut by a paper like the cut that Bo had from a juggler Queen card, they leave deep wounds and in high control of a juggler pace, they can sever the head. She panicked and left the room quickly.

"What happened Doctor?"

She was supposed to report that as soon as possible before a huge disaster came afterward.

Inside the Feral Area, Bo passed the welcome board.

"Well, mate! We got into the real show. This strict would challenge every good driver's skill. Good luck Bo!" Ben weighed in.

Bo didn't expect that whether people in that district gave him an enthusiastic expression with widened smiles that could show their teeth or not. This part of the city was entirely different and the lifestyle was more aggressive due to the ignorance from the mayor's side.

Yet, they could not just say that it was only for people's type in there. Still, there were good people in this zone and these folks were the ones that couldn't afford the huge expenses and had to stay there. But this kin that had been calling themselves Feral settled in whole Las Vita cities like Lake Vita, Rose Vita, and Del Vita. They are many in numbers and all dedicated to each other.

The ones who join their clan would get a circle tattoo on the back of their necks that means alliance in their perspective.

All gazes shifted on him and it was just the first Block that his car's wheels kissed the road. TECO already resolved everything down with these people and greased their hands with money so this time they would just follow the drivers with sour gazes.

Bo decreased his pace, peeking at some trolls and fays that had set the fire inside a barrel, gathering around it.

"Be watchful about those spoiled rumble strips! The road maps are blank and the sensors are already inactivated." Ben emphasized.

At the same moment, a huge noise of a car crashing echoed! "What the heck was that pal?"

"I don't know, maybe someone didn't take this matter that seriously!" Bo said and noticed the smoke.

It was streaming up to the sky from a near alley that ended to the main street; he passed it and saw the startled Eris who just dropped from the rank! The heavy smoke was heading up and the Feral folks were attempting to harness the fire with extinguishers.

"Oh, look, Bo, the gods heard my prayers, he dropped down on knees! I feel guilty now!" Ben confessed.

Bo skipped the second Boulevard, lowered his pace, and turned to the left. From there the map led him to a narrow alley that only had space for a car and the garbage bins near the walls.

On the balconies, some human and troll males were standing with underwear, talking to each other, drinking Dolia, a fay cheap green alcohol, and smoking Berga, a popular troll cigarette. One of the trolls drew his shot along with Bo's side and saluted him.

Bo waved a hand for him. The bumpy path was annoying but the suspension could restrain the strokes.

He finally eradicated the alley and turned to another one that was a street. The lights were flickering and casting on the faces. The street was full of shops, taverns, and gambling houses.

Some folks were standing in queues. The trolls were checking identification cards. Anyways, Las Vita had laws, and everyone from either district was forced to follow them, no under-aged youth could enter adults' places. Despite the harsh place, they were living in and their dismay toward robots, they used to dream big for their children. People of the Feral zone hated cameras and robots except for emergencies like this.

Eventually, he arrived at the common zone in all maps that they received. It was colored in yellow. He saw a dark shadow form figure that jumped a huge length from a roof to another one on two sides of the square.

He activated the living creatures' scan and set it also on magic seeking.

"Not a living creature! The magic scan is highly positive." The device reported. Ai, the fay crane of Immortality court handed him for essential situations.

"What the hell was that? Ben, can you hear me?" He lowered the pace.

"Yes, man what's wrong?"

"Put me on the line of Immortality court." Bo asked, his tune wasn't as if he was joking!

"Okay! But why?"

"I have no time to explain man, just hurry up!" This shadow could be a dark Hausto wraith that caught a magician. He smelled trouble that was related to him.
