2 Before: The Juggler

The wraith slowed down its pace, counting down to unwrap the gift that Lashuka, their God, brought its way. It wasn't easy to find such a prey here, counting down, and playing with him could bring more joy to it.

It was chuckling, turning around the boy, tightening the circle, which it was moving along with around the boy and his dog.

Bo could sense the eagerness within the wicked being that was ready to catch him. Now he could clearly see what it was. An Emulatorus, the wickest one among all other wraiths.

The boy halted. Gazing at the wraith facing toward him, a lust of thirst blazed out in those red bloody eyes and made him feel that gangs of butterflies were jolting in his tummy! Was it the end?

Letting out a tinge of croon the little white dog plunged its head down in the boy's armpit.

"Leave us alone!" Bo cried out in a threatening tone. Embracing Beta with one hand, he took hold of the flashlight out of his body, stretching his hand, moving it along with each angle that the wraith dodged in that.

"Oh, I see that you are a daring useless mortal! Well, now I am keener to have you!" The Emulatorus smirked mischievously.

The cold soulless place made Bo's knees weak and tottery. He turned back to run away but this time that filthy appeared quicker and for a few steps away again played with him. The boy was exhausted and gasping!

The claws rushed and slashed the boy's arm and the flashlight flew away from his grip. The wraith pinned the boy on the ground and the dog fell off the ground, letting out a bark. Now, the prey was ready to say his last wishes.

"I will take everything from you! Even the memories that you don't want them to show up. I will become you and will live forever." The cruel menaced. Although, at the same moment an unexpected thing distracted him. It seemed its God dragged it to a challenge and the boy was the prize if it ever could win this.

A strong wind blew and the wraith stopped before the start in panic and anger. A dark figure of a man approached them while holding a queen card with black background in his gloved left hand and carrying a stick in the other one.

Certainly, he wasn't there to play a bunny show jumping out of his hat and entertain this beast. He was sneering and his white teeth glittered. A thunderbolt shot the earth behind him.

He wasn't an Aligner because they have uniforms and marks of a crescent moon inside the sun mark that embroidered with golden string on their cuffs and the chest of their uniforms where the buttons of their coats meet on either side.

He looked as cool as cucumber, stepping calmly with those glowing black oxford shoes, wearing a mask that could show his mouth and those yellow eyes that were clear enough for Bo to know the person couldn't be a human. His long cotton coat lashed the air behind him. The fog opened the path for him to pass.

Bo glanced at the hat on his head that was like the jugglers of Anonymous territory who used to wear it. He was coming from that country beyond this hell of wraiths. From a land that was protecting their home with magic and the Sparrow magician King, was ruling there. The hybrid strange beings that made their own throne.

Scanning the man from toes to head, he felt a warm hope in his heart and a wet tongue that was licking his face. Then everything turned dark as he heard a pleasant lullaby like the one that his mother used to sing for him at bedtime.

All of a sudden, cards took the wraith under the siege as if black feathers made of the blades did. The Emulatorus screeched, its red shape became washy and washy then finally turned to a red coin, laying on the ground, leaving no sound. The cards were fluxing around it until finished their quest and reckoning the duty then rushed back to the juggler's sleeve.

The boy slept with the lullaby; the man knelt beside the boy and picked the red coin.

"Hmm, these wraiths got so confident! Taking every single memory, maybe the boy doesn't like to remember the bad parts!" The man murmured and smirked behind that mask, gazing at the coin in his palm that changed to a dust shape and sneaked to his pocket.

It seldom could happen to see a human boy beyond their shield. He placed his forefinger on the mortal's head, a ting of memory glowed out, and moved inside his Queen card, cleaning what the boy witnessed in that mere darkness due to their obligation with Vita kingdom. Moreover, he held the boy, and the dog then rushed out of the place like a flash of light.

Las Vita was a border province that from the east side had kissed the Anonymous country borders so it was normal for those folks to jug around there. The soldiers of Sparrow king would prefer to watch the outline of their magical shield and make sure no wraith found skills to cross it.

"So this is how you could cross the shield kiddo!" The slender man halted in front of the thin crack that could allow a half-man to pass through it and many hungry wraiths to enter in Las Vita!

"You should never cross the shield, again." He murmured to the boy's ears.

The juggler let the boy and his dog over the other side of the crack on the yellow grasses, drew a small golden globe out of his pocket, pressing a button on it a red cloud surged into the sky then bombed.

The aligners heard the noise and armed swiftly to see what it was. A gang of flying seeker robots was scanning around and looking for the missing boy. Hours had left from the moment that he went over their borders and the commander discovered it. The robots stopped near the crack and let out rays of red and pink lights. The juggler stood still there, letting them check him.

Bo opened his eyes, blurry scenes, lights, and vague noises annoyed him, thus, glanced at the man who saved him. The juggler blinked at the boy and put his hands up; Bo noticed that the queen card wasn't there anymore then his heavy eyelids shut down again.

"Who are you?" The commander of Aligners asked the stranger. His shock gun aimed at the man's head who brought his son back, hopefully alive.

Commander Wong, the broad handsome man who tied up his hair grinned but the real thing he really sensed was that this occur frightened him but didn't let it show in his face, it could say that the boy inherited his braveness from this father.

"A friend who saved a human boy." He believed that it was enough reason for them to let him pass.

"So we have many things to settle with each other. Now move."
