Obscured Threat

"What do you mean, mor ree eit thil? Mag, was that an explanation? Why am I feeling even more confused?" Keira inquired. Her expression was distorted, and her brows knotted into stripes unable to catch up with Mag's words.

Mag covered Keira's mouth and peered around, causing Keira to panic with Mag's expression.

"Shhh, be quiet. I don't know much about him because I wasn't born at the time, but he was a great help to many tribes. It seems like he left a positive impact on the people he helped, and his past continues to be remembered. My blood father claims that decades ago, the God of Calamity wreaked devastation on many tribes. There would be no Fox Tribe or many other tribes today if we didn't have the elder's protection," Mag explained quickly before continuing to whisper "But didn't you notice the black shadow hovering around him when you neared him like that?"

Keira flicked a glance at the male figure before returning her gaze to Mag "What's a black shadow? Are you fooling me?"

Mag was motionless, staring blankly at her friend, couldn't believe that Keira was clueless. Mag's expression changed from disbelief to horror, she gripped Keira's arm firmly, whispering

"I'm going to bring you to a witch doctor. Keira, you're sick! Your eyes can't see things!" It's so strange that her friend couldn't see the murderous shadow from him when it was exceedingly intense. Alternatively, given that Keira's iris had a unique hue, she could actually be experiencing eye complications.

Regardless of how beautiful his profile was, it was a terrifying beauty combined with endless murderous shadows, symbolizing danger and death. Not someone who should be approached. His piercing eyes were cold and calculating, making it clear that he was not to be trifled with. It was as though his very presence exuded a sense of foreboding that sent shivers down one's spine.

Keira remained perplexed as to why Mag appeared so terrified, as if she saw a ghost, when the male seemed fine and she wasn't suffocating to death around him.

"Hey, hold on," Keira said as Mag dragged her out of the room. She gazed at Azariah for help, but he stood there with his arms crossed, grinning, watching the amusing drama of two females gossiping about him.

Such a cunning and twisted person. He was unconcerned, leaning against the wall and tilting his neck. One could tell that he was enjoying their conversation, even though it was clear that they were not aware of his motive. It was unsettling to witness such a display of manipulation and deceit. Despite the fact that one of the two females was already on the verge of going insane and the other was dragged dumbfounded.

Keira's right eye twitched, choking at his nonchalant attitude. She couldn't believe how he could be so indifferent to their distressing situation. She groaned and gazed at Mag, who still had a terrified expression "I'm fine, Mag," Keira reassured, but Mag's face remained tense. So she changed the topic "Have you finished delivering to the guest's room?"

"Of course, I put it in front of the room," Mag said, her face loosening. "But, for now, the most important thing is that I found you. It's extremely risky. Do you get what I mean?"

Keira nodded. Then she peeked at Azariah, who was still leaning against the wall with a bugging grimace as if he were.. watching her? Did he really believe she was a thief? She has already made it clear that she was lost by mistake. What a jerk! Where's the dark shadow? All crap! Mag was totally blinded by fear.

Soon after, a masculine voice from the opposite direction called her "Keira?"

When she turned in response, she caught Xander leaving the hallway. Robin appeared next, followed by a middle-aged male with dark brown hair and a confident posture. His clothing was heavily decorated with precious jewelry. No doubt, he must have been the disaster chief who built a maze and set traps inside his own home.

Keira cast a glance at the three of them as they approached. before coming to a halt when she met the fox chieftain's gaze.

Seeing how he examined every inch of her body as if she were a new item to be obtained and amassed, it gave the impression that he was viewing an object rather than a living being. Keira was taken aback by what she had just acknowledged. Despite the fact that she has frequently come across people like him in her world, she has never gotten used to this gaze.

She felt a shiver run down her spine as she realized that his piercing stare had the power to make her feel at risk. She knew she had to be cautious around him, as his eyes seemed to hold hidden threats that she couldn't uncover.

The fox chief extended his hand as he came closer. Azariah surged forward, drawing her waist back first before the chief's hand could reach her. Causing the chieftain's gaze to shift to the person who dared to snatch the item before his eyes, and met Azariah's murderous gaze staring at him disapprovingly.

Realizing the elder was not someone to be trifled with, the chieftain then took a step back, as this was not the time for him to behave rashly. "We met again, Elder," the chief commented, his voice tinged with a trace of suspicion. Why had the Elder returned to the hall so abruptly after they had just bid farewell to him a short while earlier?

As a response, Azariah narrowed his eyes. He was aware that the fox chieftain had a dark side and enjoyed collecting a wide variety of things, including unusual objects and even actual living beings. And Keira, who had unique features, was in peril. How dare the chief use that disgusting gaze to look at her like that? which caused him to consider which side of the chieftain's eye should be gouged out first.

In a possessive gesture, Azariah caressed Keira with his big hands and rubbed his chin over the top of her head, showing that she was his and that no one else should touch her.

The sensual touch of his hands caressing her body, almost swallowing her whole like a serpentine coiling around his beloved, made Keira wince. Her still-flushed neck was covered in kiss marks as he dove his face down onto her, showing everyone in the room those scarlet marks that made it clear he was hooked on her and that she was his.

Intoxicated by his alluring scent and touches, she was gasping for air and struggling to breathe. Her heart was racing as she tried to regain her composure, but his intoxicating presence made it impossible for her to resist his advances. She knew she was in trouble, but she couldn't bring herself to pull away from him. It appeared as though she was steadily and slowly melting in his powerful embrace as she felt his warm breath on her neck, and she knew that she was completely under his spell.

She appeared to be on the verge of passing out. Goosebumps and tingling feelings converged throughout her body, making her feel lightheaded. It was too much, as if he were expertly exploiting all of her weaknesses. She knew she had to regain control of her emotions, but his touch was too intoxicating.

On the corner of his eye, he caught a glimpse of Keira about to pass out from dizziness, so he raised his head away from her neck and fixed his gaze intently on the entire group as if warning them not to approach and steal his beloved. He knew that he had to control his rage and resist the urge to cause trouble, but it was becoming increasingly difficult with each passing moment. He silently cursed himself for not being able to control his primal instincts.

The murderous shadow that emanated from his body caused everyone to suffocate. Darkened the hall as it spread over a wide area. Everyone in the hall was frozen in fear as they watched the shadow consume everything in its path, leaving behind a trail of destruction and despair. It was as if an evil force had taken over his body, turning him into a ruthless and unstoppable monster. His eyes were filled with intense rage, his voice was deep and menacing, and his intensely possessive gestures terrified everyone around him, not knowing what he would do next.

Keira gradually regained her senses. She writhed, her face flushed red with intoxication, as she held her breath to stop breathing in his scent, which she found to be addictive. With all of her might, she used every effort to resist him and shouldn't have allowed him to have such complete control over her.

Until Azariah's firm hold on her was broken by a hand. It's Xander; he stared at him unwaveringly with his hypnotic-blue eyes darkened with rage.

Keira felt like there were relentless fire blasts between Azariah and Xander's gaze. Without a doubt, they will kill one another right here. The overwhelming vengeful force that emanated from these two filled the space to the point where she nearly suffocated. Her purple eyes were about to close as she exhaled heavily, her heart racing. "Don't do this," she murmurs, barely audible.

Xander tightened his hold on Keira's arm with increasing rage at someone daring to take his cherished. Whoever the male in front of him was, it didn't matter to him anymore. He wouldn't permit it whether he was the Elder or not.
