3 THE RIGHT PATH

Orstone, one of the main crop producing towns in Vidin which continuously provide agricultural food commodities to the large few cities in Vidin, especially the grain crops, where nearly all the population is farmers or merchants, there were an important noble who controlled Orstone in a higher grade, David Holston, mayor of Orstone, he nearly owns half of Orstone and was selected as mayor of Orstone three years ago by the minister, he has the greatest mansion in all of Orstone with guards nearly everywhere, but for a girl like her she was ready to take a risk like that for just a normal bet.

"GET THIS GIRL.", The mayor's voice echoed through the mansion alerting all the guards to the hooded young girl jumping from the balcony of his bedroom!

She landed smoothly then looked upwards to the not so fit mayor who just reached the balcony looking angrily at her while panting.

"Bring me back that ring you sneaky rat or my guards will make sure you wish death.", Said Holston angrily.

"Sorry chunky, I will borrow it for a couple of days, I got myself into a little bet, but I promise to bring it back once I'm done.", Said the young girl while smiling before looking at both her sides seeing guards coming.

"Looks like it's time to say goodbye, see you soon.", Said the girl while waving for him with her right hand before saying loud and in confidence.

"Fog shelter!", Suddenly fog appeared around her from nowhere like a smoke bomb and started spreading around making the guards stumble above each others.

When the fog gradually started fading one of the guards noticed her over the fence of the mansion and shouted for the others.

"Don't bother yourself, sorry for the trouble, but I truly enjoyed my time here, especially seeing chunky Holston for the first time.", Said the girl while mocking the mayor.

"You don't want to mess with me you filthy hybrid, I have seen your eyes, and I will surely know you if you aren't hooded, believe me you will regret all of this.", Said Holston in a threatening manner from his balcony.

"Oops, looks like I have left a bad impression here, no need for hard feelings, I'm just borrowing it for a couple of days, now bye, I don't want your archers to have a clean view of me.", Said the girl before jumping off the fence and archers started shooting, but she was smart and moved along side of the fence externally to keep her body away from the arrows.

"Open the gates and get this girl now, she can't go far from here.", Shouted Holston, but she was a fast moving smart girl and knew exactly where she was going to move to ensure escaping fast and avoid being spotted.

The weather was great this morning, Jaxith was walking in the village streets in the early morning which was unusual for him to wake up early because he usually goes hunting late as that was the time monsters usually gets active, but that nightmare could cause insomnia easily.

Jaxith finally reached his destination, he was infront of a tavern, he took a few steps towards the door until suddenly.

"HELP MEEEEEEEEE.", The words echoed in Jaxith's mind and made him stagger a bit holding his head with his right hand, her face was hard to forget with all the blood and that terrifying roar, which wasn't from her, was the worst for Jaxith.

He started calming down and took a deep breath, keeping his balance and gaining control again, he pushed the tavern door with his left hand, it was completely empty, except for the tavern keeper behind the counter who was cleaning the shelves and the counter, looks like he has just opened the tavern.

"Quite early for you today, early hunting or what?", Said the tavern keeper.

"No, bad night.", Said Jaxith.

"Those dogs from Albes's farm didn't help you sleep, right?", Said the tavern keeper.

"No Jacob, just a bit of insomnia, that's all.", Said Jaxith with his calm confident voice while taking a wooden stool and sitting against the counter.

"Whatever, something new or the usual?", Asked Jacob.

"Come on, I bet you got a better question than that?", Said Jaxith with a smirk.

"For the great god's sake Jaxith, you are a vicenarian man, who in your age still drink orange juice! I just keep orange here for the village kids.", Said Jacob while wondering.

"I'm not a fan of alcohol, it's just like that, never had a desire to even try it and above everything, fresh orange juice is the real deal Jacob, don't deny it.", Said Jaxith.

"Whatever you like buddy.", Said Jacob while pouring the juice in a wooden tavern mug.

"You still a vicenarian right? Don't tell me you've become a tricenarian!", Said Jacob worriedly.

"Don't worry Jacob, I'm still 27.", Said Jaxith smiling before taking a sip from his drink.

"By the way, since we talked about the age, don't you think that it's time for almighty Jaxith to have a beautiful young woman by his side.", Said Jacob smiling while sitting against Jaxith and the counter between them.

"No, I don't think so, but thanks for the advice.", Said Jaxith boldly, he's always calm like that only saying a few.

"Hey, don't tell me that Lumina, the greatest village in all plistura, doesn't have beautiful women, and I bet that every single woman in here dreams of someone like you but all you have to do is to choose, Jaxith the great monster slayer, your shiny red eyes, long silver hair and beard, well built body, protecting us from those terrifying monsters out there that the government doesn't bother itself with since we are a small village, that's way more than a woman could dream of, I know how everyone in here looks to you.", Said Jacob proudly with a smile but Jaxith looked silently at him.

"Seriously Jaxith, the village owes you a lot man, and you never ask for money in exchange for your services, you just sell whatever is usable from the monsters in the village and the rest you travel to sell it, you've been doing this for nearly seven years Jaxith, and I know what I'm telling you, I have seen a lot of monster slayers Jaxith, but you are a different breed, you never come back injured, never disappoint the people around you, always there to help us.", Said Jacob with a warm smile.

"You are just exaggerating, I'm just doing my job.", Said Jaxith calmly.

"No I'm not, just look at the kids looking up to you, hell man two days ago my son was telling me that he will be a great monster slayer just like Jaxith, believe me son, everybody in here loves you, I know you are a man of a few words and you nearly leave your house except for hunting, but if maybe you are a bit of embarrassed to talk about marriage just know I'm here, no one likes to be alone this long.", Said Jacob seriously.

"Don't worry yourself Jacob, believe me I'm not putting marriage in my considerations right now.", Said Jaxith, who was somehow not really focusing, he was staring at his juice, actually the nightmare was still in his mind, what was that? It felt somehow real, was that girl real or what?

"JAXITH", shouted Jacob.

"You were daydreaming, right?"

"I didn't sleep well that's all.", Said Jaxith who looked back at Jacob while gently shaking his head.

"Listen, I have known you for seven years and the moment you entered the tavern a few moments ago I easily noticed that something is not right, your sharp sense doesn't allow you to drift off like that, that's why I asked about marriage, so tell me what's bothering you?", Said Jacob.

Jaxith looked at him for a moment thinking of what to tell Jacob.

"Jacob, can I ask you for advice?", Said Jaxith.

"Go on, just tell me what weighs you down.", Said Jacob.

"Well, what would you do if you feel that someone needs help but you are not sure if it's some sort of a trap or not?", Asked Jaxith while calmly looking at Jacob.

"Well, for me if it's a risk and I'm not even sure if this one needs help or not, then easily I will dismiss this Jax, I don't carry a sword, but you are and that's the whole point, it's not about me son, it's totally about you.", Said Jacob then Jaxith started looking back to the mug in his hand.

"Listen, you are a smart one Jax, and I doubt that there is someone out there who can truly deceive you, you help people by instinct so if you feel and even if it's just a feeling that someone out there needs you, just do your thing, and if it turns out to be a trap then I'm sure that this one made the mistake of his life.", Said Jacop while smiling.

Jaxith let out a little laugh before looking back at Jacob.

"I think that you are right Jacob, it doesn't hurt to take a look.", Said Jaxith.

"Exactly, that's what I'm talking about.", Said Jacob.

"One last question, I know that Orstone and Wolford are well known towns for the grain crops production in Vidin, which of them have hills around it?", Said Jaxith while memorizing the farmland that the girl was standing in.

"That's easy, it's Orstone, Wolford doesn't have any hills around, but Orstone has hills bordering its east side entirely, it's a close town, I thought you know about it.", Said Jacob.

"I passed by it a couple of times but never visited it, maybe the hills were on the other side.", Said Jaxith.

"That's fine, that's where are you going, right?", Said Jacob.

"Yeah, thanks for the advice Jacob, I will go get my equipment ready then I will drop by to give you the key of the house, I'm not sure how long I will be gone so take care of it.", Said Jaxith.

"No problem, it's in safe hands, and Jaxith, be careful out there young man, whatever you are going to do is clearly negatively affecting you, so keep calm and cold, in other words, just be Jaxith.", Said Jacob cleverly.

"I will, take care, Jacob.", Said Jaxith before standing up and turning to leave, Jacob noticed that the mug is empty.

"Even when you aren't feeling well you complete it, huh?", Said Jacob while smiling to Jaxith who partially opened the door of the tavern.

"A bad night is enough, a bad morning too will be devastating.", Said Jaxith sarcastically before closing the door behind him leaving Jacob laughing.

Guards are running and shouting in all the streets of Orstone.

"A blue-eyed hybrid demon young girl dared to rob the mayor's mansion, if anyone knows where she is will be rewarded and any complicit person will be severely punished by the mayor himself.", Shouted the guards in all the streets of the town after failing to find her, it has been three hours since she escaped the mansion and yet no sign of her.

In one of the quiet, dark alleys, two young boys were chatting while hearing the guards before suddenly someone jumped behind them!

"Oh god! Irene, you nearly gave me a heart attack!", Said one of the boys in panic to the young girl, a 5.2 feet tall slim girl who started removing her hood revealing her blue demonic eyes which weren't scary although, short layered red hair and white skin.

"Don't tell me you are the one who did it!", Said the other boy.

Irene opened her right hand showing a golden ring with a relatively big red gem and a large H letter was carved on it.

"You must be kidding, the guards are literally searching every corner for you, I never thought that you will do it for real!", Said the other boy again astonishingly.

"Then you shouldn't have underestimated me Leo.", Said Irene winking before looking at the streets to ensure that no guards are following her.

"Whatever, the bet is to keep it for a week without getting busted.", Said Leo in a clever manner, he can't believe that she actually did it so he can't show that he lost his bet.

"I will, don't worry, but after that you will admit that I'm the most talented thief among the shadow seekers.", Said Irene proudly before suddenly looking at the ground sadly.

"Hey, what's the problem? Did something wrong happen?", Asked the first boy.

"No, Flen, it's that fat asshole, he called me filthy hybrid, if it wasn't for the guards I would have teached him a hard lesson.", Said Irene angrily.

"Oh come on Irene, just drop it, we've told you more than once that being a hybrid isn't your fault, hell you can use magic and no one in your age can, maybe it's not that powerful but still useful, and if we come to the beauty point believe me you are even prettier than any girl I know.", Said Leo in a warming manner.

"Thank you Leo, but the last part wasn't necessary.", Said Irene smirking.

"Yeah she is right man, everyone knows that you are a shitty single who thinks himself a handsome noble.", Said Flen sarcastically before he and Irene burst out laughing.

"Yeah yeah, whatever.", Said Leo smiling.

"No really, Leo, thank you, I needed to laugh, I think that it's wise to return to the hideout until the end of the day.", Said Irene.

Both of the boys agreed with her before looking forward to make sure that the guards are gone from the street then started running.

In a well designed room with luxurious furniture in it, a man was sitting on his disk, he was well dressed like a noble with medium brown hair, he was writing before the sound of a crow hit his ear, the crow flew right through the window and landed on his desk.

The man hurried up and closed the window and the door of the room before sitting again in front of the crow and looking directly at its eyes and saying.

"Apocodicopios!", He said those words and started grinding his teeth hard and his eyes closed for a moment before everything returned to normal again and the crow started burning without any reason!

"That crow was created by lord Blamore himself.", Said the noble man panting.

"I can't believe this, the key has finally emerged, after all those years people will see who was right from the beginning, they will know that those gods that they worship are just liars, oppressors and cowards, afraid from his majesty's greatness, but now I have been given this great task, I shall not let my lord down, and I know exactly who is the right person for this.", Said the noble in a low confident voice.
