Fateful Encounter

I found myself at the bed of the lake, the purity of the water allowed me to see far as any other. The water did not hinder my movements nor I need to breathe.

The calm lake bed soothed my senses and numbed my body. The clear crystalline water contrasted well to the skeletal body placed in here,a black sheep in a herd of white.

Nothing happened during my curiosity as I picked myself up. The water was what numbed everything, I thought I was floating but I reassured myself as I saw my feet reflect on the mirror of the lake bed.

I looked around, a small terrace protruded from the floor a ways ahead as I looked intently.

The more I glanced the more I knew it was my destination.

My vision did not align well with the skeleton as I soon noticed went ahead of my sight.

My mind was still intact, but the body of the skeleton moved on its own. All I could do was watch the body tread towards it in clumsy strides that aligned well with the location of the floor.

I followed along.

Each step made no efforts to spare any noises from the clanking of my bones as I watched intently if anything would happen.

I looked around exploring the area unknown to me.

A large body of some sort treading the waters as it went on by.

A muffled call came from the beast of vast size.

The call of the large fish treading the lake sound so mysterious, as if it were calling for me. But I continued to follow the skeleton.

The terrace there would definitely show where I am situated.

Moments later, the skeleton came on the terrace of white marble as it continued, some small steps and a thick smoke clouded the vision, clearly the skeleton knew where to go whereas I do not.

The milky smoke became another sight. The skeleton became much more melodic as it followed a strange foot path. It would do sudden twists or turn, with every length of a step was always the same.

I imitate such as if it had some sort of meaning.

And just like that, I found myself in another area, a place of no proper way to explain such landscape as simplistic and profound.

A single patch of green on a mound of dirt, a willow placed on top with roots growing around the mound.

The skeleton moved its way to the mound without any interference and sat at the lone willow in the place of no ground nor sky.

I too came to the tree.

My mind was at rest and though my fate unknown, I would not have any cares in the world just to sit here and reminisce everything.

"So you came."

I look to my right, a feeling of surprise would have been more a proper response but all I did was nod. It felt llike a natural body reaction.

The voice came from the other side of the willow and with such a serene tone and a mellow hoarse voice. A voice displaying all his feelings yet holding back.

"Do you like it here?" He smirked and breathed out a small breathe finishing his sentence.

I nod the same as well.

They sat there in silence as they observed the undercurrents on both the ceiling and the floor. as small droplets appeared with the revertebration of the sound of water droplets.

The man began his dialogue.

"Your master, was a devout kid. After completing her trials to become a true servant, she could roam both the physical world and the soul chasm."

The soul chasm was where souls who were influenced by death magic would appear, people who're acquainted with magic, in which I knew low tier spells, knew of the soul chasm.

"She was in the stage of her body becoming anew and she could place her body in the soul chasm to control a mere puppet in the physical world."

"But she didn't."

Each time a word sounded from his mouth, some unknown emotions could be heard. Despair, anguish, anxiety, grief, madness, sadness, I do not know.

He sighed, "She was an eccentric with my other servants and she did not care much of anyone even by status or power. She was a precarious brat."

"When she completed her trial, I remember it very well, she sat at the same spot where you sat. She watched the skies and ground as I did and left without a word."

"I did not hear anything from her since but she was destined for this act, but an act destined by gods was always a cruel fate. She came back on the day she died and struck a deal with me. Using her soul as the bargain."

The man stood up breathing a long sigh as he did.

"I will do everything on my side of the deal and you deal with yours, our meeting here is short but you will definitely know what to do when you come."

At that point, my vision became much more faint, as it did when I fell in the endless abyss. His skeletal body was feeling the same as they once more aligned.

"You will be the change of fate that this twisted world needs. Change the world by its utter core, bring destruction and construction, diseases and cures, life and death, judgement and chaos."

"Godspeed."

And just like that, my body completely went white and I felt nothing more, the body fell back into a descent with my destination to be pure milky white once more.
