87 NGJ Chapter 87: Looming Threat

---<[PoV Serafall Leviathan]>---

She may have messed up a little.

She looked at Akira in front of her who looked just about to release a nasty combination of spells at her. And she already knew how bad those could get when she got hit with a fist full of curses and a hail of spells when she tried to teleport here.

Nothing that really got past her defences that she deployed the moment she noticed but it did mess up her living room a little. The curses were a bit more annoying.

Serafall was a smart devil yes, you can't really afford to be dumb when you are in charge of the foreign relations of an entire race.

Does she think everything through always? Definitely not.

Smart? Yes. "Slightly" impulsive? Yes.

She was too used to messing with her little sister, and so she viewed this as Akira just playfully messing around, her sister also set up traps for her at her manor. She wanted to surprise him like the first time they met so she may have acted a bit impulsively by barging in.

In hindsight, trying to teleport into a magician's base and then suddenly breaching their barrier to burst through their front door might not have been one of the brightest ideas she had.

...Especially when she was supposed to make a good impression with said mage who was at the moment basically a walking Political Nuclear Bomb waiting to burst. Azazel made no attempts to hide his flaunting of having access to potions the other factions didn't.

He was a Necromancer, a very rare variant of magicians that are basically extinct. An alchemist capable of creating powerful potions, unlike most alchemists who can only create either potions that are basically useless to most Devils or potions that are too expensive for regular use. An extremely capable combatant that as a human was strong enough to utterly destroy Riser, a Phenex without any assistance from his undead.

Even with the insurmountable power difference, she would still have problems with handling him. Who knew how many secrets were hidden in his sleeves?

She couldn't help but wonder just how strong he would be if he were to be reincarnated as a devil with the Queen Piece. Maybe he would even reach the gates of ultimate rank.

Thankfully she had made a good first impression with him that one time. He even seemed to appreciate Magical Girls like her which was a plus.

...But looking at his pissed-off expression as she sat in front of him, something told her that all of that goodwill had gone down the drain the moment she had invaded his house.

Oops.

"Tell me, is being unable to respect someone's privacy a genetic trait of all devils or something?" She could see his indignation even through the blindfold(why does he even wear one) making her sweat a little. She had come here for official business even wearing her formal dark green blouse and dark skirt.

"Ah~ I'm terribly sorry for barging in like this Akira-kun! I got a bit too excited and forgot, tehee~." His unimpressed stance said he didn't buy it one bit but he soon thankfully released a sigh.

"Tch, you are lucky you are cute. So, why are you here? I doubt Satan herself would invade my house for a social visit." He said bitterly, as if swallowing his pride down to spit the words out. While Serafall smiled, he was a sucker for honeytraps it seemed and a charmer while at that too.

She could definitely work with that.

"Well Akira-kun, I have come here to announce to you! After the rating game and careful consideration, we have decided to give you the title of an Honorary High-Class Devil. Since you failed to become an actual devil and all we decided to appoint you as an honorary one instead. Which grants you basically all of the benefits of being a high-class devil including being able to own land in the underworld and having your own peerage if you want so."

' "We" my perky ass!!! '

Serafall did almost all of the work for this title. She fought the old satan faction for it, dealt with all of the paperwork for days, and so much more bureaucratic bullshit. Because the other Satans well...

Sirzechs failed to truly grasp the sheer importance of Akira in the political world. In his mind, Akira was still just an impressive human mage and not a spark representing a potential new great war.

Ajuka gave her his full support as in: Sure, but I sure as hell won't do anything about it. That man cared little for anything beyond his tinkering. While he wanted samples of Akira's potions he wasn't going to actively hunt for them.

And Falbium...

Well, she was more likely to beat an enraged Sirzechs in a fight than to get Falbium to do more than the most absolute bare minimum possible.

So predictably, it fell on her to handle oh so much beloved paperwork trying to make sure the devil race does not fall apart. Sure Sirzechs and Ajuka pitched in whenever they could but it did not make the process any less frustrating.

But from what she saw Akira wasn't too impressed, making her curse in her heart.

"I see(Serafall held back the urge to snort), that won't really affect me too much since I won't bother interfering in Devil politics or hell too much. Is there anything else you came here for?"

"Well, there is in fact. We have decided to acknowledge your presence on Kuoh. And considering your influence and strength in Kuoh we have come to the decision to appoint you as the third king of Kuoh town! Congratulations Akira-kun!" She made an overblown gesture of spreading her arms to accentuate the statement. The slight smile Akira had showed her that appointing him one of the kings was indeed a correct move it seemed.

She saw him using spatial magic to teleport his blindfold away, she still did not know why he wore one. Perhaps he was training his senses?

"I see, that's good, this will make my life significantly easier then. Thank you miss Serafall." Serafall smiled mischievously, going to sit next to him and throwing her arm around Akira's neck, pulling him down and up to her breasts for a hug.

"Mou~ you are too formal Akira-kun! Maybe I should have come here with my magical girl outfit instead? I saw how you were getting along with my Sona-tan so well, she talks about you a lot you know? You can just call me Levia-tan or Sera you know?" She spoke in a teasing tone, almost strangling Akira while holding him up against her breasts.

"Isn't it a bit weird to call you that? You know with you being a satan and all?"

"Geez, you are so formal. But I guess that's fine when we are in a meeting like this one." Serafall let it go shrugging while Akira sweatdropped. Trying to predict her was like trying to predict the weather. You just get swept up by it.

"Also, Akira-kun. When you plan on selling your Potions commercially contact me! Onee-san will handle everything for you!" Serafall gave a cheeky grin as she held a thumbs up toward Akira who looked just about done.

"Uh, yeah, sure." Seeing his reaction Serafall nodded, satisfied with the results of this meeting. Grinning cheekily quickly grabbed Akira and planted a kiss on his cheeks making him flustered.

'Cute.' Her sister really did know how to pick them.

"Well then handsome, I have to leave now. Plenty of paperwork waits for me! But don't worry I will make sure to drop by from time to time." She winked before teleporting away, leaving behind a piece of paper with her personal number written on it.

---<[Akira PoV]>---

I really can't make heads or tails of that girl. Thinking about her and just how whimsical she is just hurts my brain cells. I picked up the note from the ground that had a picture attached to the back of it with a gravure photo of her in a tiny bikini.

Well, at least she is hot.

I would have lost my patience with her long ago if she were a guy.

Now that Serafall left I resumed thinking once more.

Soon, the exorcists should arrive in Kuoh.

Now, I don't know how badly my existence may have derailed Cannon. Maybe they will send some old smelly guys or a seraph themselves will come, I don't know.

But it shouldn't be.

From my calculation, my actions should not have disturbed the factors that led to Kokabiel and the Exorcists to come here.

Unless I do something very drastic like let's say kill Freed the end result of Freed coming here should not change too drastically, his motivation and method might but the end result shouldn't deviate too significantly.

Yes, there may be some changes like maybe they will come with extra backup, which would be troublesome but I am currently confident in dealing with minor differences but...

Kokabiel.

Kokabiel, Kokabiel, Kokabiel...

How the fuck, do I handle him?

Things are slowly becoming clear to me. My limitations.

Unlike what one might expect my "Gamer" ability is not omnipotent.

Yes, I have boundless potential but I have my limitations as well.

Mainly my fleshy, spongy human body.

But I also can't afford to change my race currently to the factions. I know how valuable I am, when I pick a race, let's say Devil's my value goes down. The other races will stop fighting as hard for me and the Devil's will too now that they have me.

I also don't know how to turn myself into a lich and honestly, I am not too keen on becoming a skeleton.

All of my undead without fail except for Wiz do not have feelings, they don't feel pain or arousal.

I don't want such a hollow life.

So...

I have one possibility in front of me.

Idle Transfiguration or becoming a Death Painting.

In other words. I need to do the Shibuya incident.

Can I do it?

Yes.

I believe so. Once I max out this class and fuse my body I can.

Geto may be tricky but he is vulnerable to assassination and unlike cursed spirits, he can receive lethal wounds.

Hanami I have styled on when I was dozens of times weaker.

Dagon is not a threat unless I let him put up his domain. He may be tough but Alpha is tougher.

Jogo is a definite problem, his strength approaches ultimate levels of power but he is a glass cannon. Ddraig can handle him. And if I need to I already ordered my cursed craftsman to make me fire resistance equipment. And my own fire resistance I had already trained to 47 thanks to fire spells in necropolis and testing my fire spells on myself.

Mahito on the other hand is basically the worst matchup for me.

I am his nightmare. He can't even hope to get close to me. I can simply teleport, or dash before blasting him since he has no ranged attack or aoe.

Uraume could have been troublesome if not for every undead possessing Ice resistance to some degree. Plus the spongy human flesh argument applies to them too.

My biggest fear is Megumi popping the lid of Mahoraga from being mildly inconvenienced and Sukuna awakening. Depending on when I am dropped in there it could be almost unwinnable.

Mahoraga I could maybe handle by stalling him before Ddraig fully boosts and transfers to me before I let loose a Hyper Burning Sea.

Sukuna on the other hand is probably the single worst matchup I have.

More experienced, and most of all, his technique is a nightmare for me. Nearly instant AOE slashing attacks powerful enough to easily slice buildings in half. Not to mention his Fuga bullshit and domain.

Regardless, this is possible. And it is a far better alternative than Kokabiel who can just wipe the city off the map.

But first, I need to prepare some things.

A/N: As some of you may have realized, Akira is slowly realizing the shortcomings of his weak spongy human flesh. If he wants to match pace with the plot his current strength is not enough. So it's time to ramp it up! Shibuya time!
