96 Spiritual insight

"Souls make me smarter?" Bardeelus thought to himself.

He couldn't really figure out how this worked. For a second he assumed that he stole every ounce of this soul's abilities and memories, but it took little time to debunk that theory.

Bardeelus didn't have any new, foreign memories to skim through. Hell, oftentimes he even forgot some experiences of his own. He didn't have to second-guess the debunking, and looked for other details instead.

"No special skills either, I can't read minds… yet again, this guard isn't an illusionist." He continued theorizing.

Furthermore he couldn't help thinking, "Maybe I tapped into some genetic memories, someone in this fucker's heritage knew math. This makes more sense… but now, I for some reason know what genetic memories are. Weird shit… very weird."

"Give my guard's soul back," A slightly-rough and familiar tone suddenly wrecked his train of thought.
