Heartless...

it has been 3 whole days since that blast of clashing light and everything seemed to return to normal

only it wasn't, something odd was wrong with her, She can't feel her hearts pulse and her skin turning pale, her siblings are starting to notice

"I'll go check up on the new corns I planted." Kaila said facing her siblings who were busy harvesting Strawberries at the front of their house

she went to the back of their house, she looked back making sure none of them were around, she looked at her hands, she placed two fingers on her pulse, closing her eyes and pressed down lightly-- nothing, she did not here the usual pumping of her chest, Kaila bit fhe bottom of her lips and shook her head, She went to the corn feild and examined them "you seem to be growing healthy..." she touched the little sprout of the corn stem

as soon as her fingertips touched the plant it began to to wither and turn to dust, in shock Kaila fell back on to the ground her hands that touched the hard dirt turned black and dark purple like a water spreading throughout the feild, all the plants it touched withered and turned to ash blowing through the wind

with her hands to her mouth which was agape in shock she couldn't help a tear run down her cheeks

[What is going on?!] she looked at her shaking hands her eyes were filled with horror [What have I ...]

"Oneechan!" a loud shout from behind her made her turn her head, There stood her siblings, Ryan and Rochelle watched their sister turn a feild of growing crops to ash

"S-stay back! I-I'm dangerous!" her voice shaking she waved at them not to come near her but the little boy and girl ignored her warning and approached her, hugging her tight.

she cried and froze "P-please I don't wanna hurt you..."

"Onee-chan, you won't hurt us... we know you won't.." Rochelle said through tears

"I-I don't know what happened... I-I'm not human anymore! m-my heart isn't beating! I'm heartless!" she cried, she doesn't even know how was she still alive without a heart... how she still stood and live another few days..

"God didn't want you to leave us.. maybe god heard our prayers.."

they cried in each others embrace until they have decided, they were gonna leave and find a safer place, The house their adoptive grandmother gave them won't last any more attacks... and they cannot live near a dead town, they'd be found sooner or later

they decided to pack up and find a new place, On the road to a new place they can call home Kaila wore a black hood all the time since they left their home, If one was to see her pale skin and dead eyes they'd mistake her for a demon, not to mention her skin has been more sensitive to sun than ever before.

they travelled for miles and miles away from the town they grew up on, They stopped and slept under trees in the forests they've past, eating only the few fruits and vegetables they planted as they weren't sure how long will they be living out

looking up at the sky while sitting by the fire, Kaila watched the stars and bright full moon as their source of light, her siblings sleeping peacefully as they lay their heads on her lap.

they've been travelling for 2 and a half months now.

they've encountered wild beasts and bandits but none was able to come near them, the black and dark purple light that withered their crops have killed them once they get a little close to them, it was convenient but frightening, she has been killing humans and animals without her doing anything, she tried warning them but refused to believe her and ended up in the dirt. lifeless.

thus she began practicing on controlling her new found deadly ability, if she could even call it that, she'd prefer to call it a curse

she managed to control it in this past 2 months, she just have to relax and not lose her cool or else the curse or ability within her will go rampage

"Once we find a place of shelter, I will try to find my heart... maybe if I can get it back... I'll lose this curse..." she clenched her hands into a tight fist and exhaled, she looked at her twin brother and sister "For now, I'll accept you... In order to protect my family.."

with that she joined them in a deep slumber.
