7 Series of events 2

After the rain stopped, chief and other members of village showed their utmost gratitude towards Magnus.

"rather than wasting your time, you should provide your service to others now get to work".

Everyone followed Magnus's order as if he was the chief of the village. Everyone started looking for the stuff to renovate their village. After sometime the meeting hall where the village meeting usually held was repaired and chief with her advisors took Magnus into it. Since Magnus was new to this world, he doesn't know much about so he asked the chief for some information.

The area where he was present at the moment is known as savage lands, the area doesn't come under the influence of any kingdom but was free area specially for fugitives and criminals.

" then why didn't you leave this place?"

"we can't because outside world is more dangerous for our race than this area "

It was true because elf race was one of the ancient races of Arcadia. And they were blessed with good aptitude in field of magic which the other races lack. So there were many incidents of elf being used by people in power, as in one incident an elf family was kidnapped and their minds were manipulated to do dirty work like assassination.

Magnus nooded in approval because he, himself was well introduced with nasty human nature. After that chief started explaining about their history ,

"since from ancient times, every race used to live in peace and harmony but due to the massive appetite of humans for power, they waged war on other races but they doesn't had enough power to compete with other races, so they casted an taboo summoning ritual in which hundred of lives were sacrificed to summon the heroes from other world on the pretext of fighting demon lord who were harassing them. Summoned heroes powers were overwhelming and they turned the tide of war ,after war all the races were casted out from their homes into this wasteland. After war, some heroes found the wrong doing of the humans and tried to revolt but it was too late everything was destroyed and the revolting heroes were executed by other heroes who were having same lust for power and were labelled as traitors.

Some heroes secluded themselves from world affairs after the war of heroes.

With the help of their population, they captured the most developed lands with the help of ancient technology, formed a stronghold around the world.

Since the lust for power was so great, they waged wars on each other for better territories and are still waging wars on each other even after thousands of years and other races scattered around savage lands and settled in this harsh regions to gain their past glories from scratch "

" so why are human bandits in this region? "

" its due to our rare bloodline because many races having specific traits where they excel above all other races and humans want those abilities to plunder riches ".

Chief also mentioned about Bartos, city of bandits where fugitive and criminals gather and trade, everything can be sold even people.

Due to the backing from many human territories, the city is the most high tech and have many advance facilities which make it heaven in savage lands.

"Now I can understand, how this world is nearing it's apocalypse"

Magnus murmured to himself.

" have you heard of demigods?"

Ebina replied,

" yes but they were nothing other than myths, people used to say that demigod is the true owner of this world but due to his or her disinterest in the materialistic world like Arcadia, he/she neglected the world and world balance shattered"

Magnus thought in his mind,

"due to some bastard's slackness now I have to do his work"

And cursed him lot of times in his mind .

From all this conversation, Magnus concluded that the the balance wasn't shattered due to the stronghold of humans but due to the other races going extinct. So a random thought aroused in his mind of conquering the savage land. A notification rang up,

"creating task :

Conquer the Bartos city and become the overlord of the place

Rewards : favourability increase with other races"

Magnus sighed because he didn't want to live this life with murdering or plundering others but a peaceful life, but that can't be possible due to his recent experience of this world.

As conversation was comensing, night came over and they had to adjourn their meeting for next day.

Dark night filled with stars was a great scenery, Magnus was enjoying the scene. Suddenly the surrounding turned into a wide white space and in next moment, he was in another dimension, ,

"how's your life going on kid? ",

Magnus was confused at first but suddenly calmed on hearing the voice,it was none other than the voice of self proclaimed God,

"I am in a huge mess, you know"

"hahaha ha...."

"hey don't laugh on other people bad luck".

In sorrowful tune, Magnus opened up the burden of his mind

"today, I have seen a lot of people dying again"

"I had thought I wouldn't have to face the savagery of my past life but its the same everywhere"

" I didn't want to kill anyone"

After few moments, God replied

"you know, when we first met you asked me a question on , why are you offering me this job? "

Magnus replied

"well, yes".

God responded,

"it was due to your mind, yearning for peace, your whole life , you had many regrets, you were trapped in situations where there is nothing but hopelessness but you never lost your greed for peace and that's why I made you enough powerful so that you can make this waste of world into world you always yearned for"

Hearing this, Magnus got emotional as these thoughts made him remember of his father, who always prayed for a better life for him.

"well, my time is up here, I can't interfere in this world for much longer now here's the deal kid, I am giving this whole world to you. You revive it or destroy it that's upto you, I want you to live this life as regretless as possible. Now you have power, show this world whose the real boss "

After a pause, God continued

" you are quite entertaining you know. Its not even 2 days after your birth in Arcadia and you are already in such a big mess, hahahahah... "

Magnus got irritated,

" And here I thought you are quite bashful , you selfish God "

" I am your Superior and I have alot of work of my own you know, I send you there so I can lighten up my workload , so work hard kid until next time "

After that Magnus returned to the cliff again and laughed towards sky and shouted,

" one day, I will definitely make you regret this".
