17 Invading the invasion

"Has the scouts returned?"

"yes general"

"It doesn't look like they will attack us"

"Cowardly bastards, taunting us, what is the quantity of troops? "

"According to reports, they are about 250,000 soldiers"

"our forces only counts 100,000",

"This is really gonna be an hard one ".

General Glen who was watching over the movements of invasion army, sighed in worry.

"what about other regions of kingdom?",

"Other regions are being invaded , no report have been received from southern and western frontiers, and eastern frontier is still holding the ground but I don't think they will hold for much longer"

"tell me number of forces that is attacking from other frontiers"

"According to reports, the estimates are about 200,000 troops"

The army officials who were preparing for their last stand despaired as they were already surrounded by enemy which was 4 times stronger than them, with no reinforcements, they will get annihilated in no time.

Suddenly, an scout reached and made an report of Arthur's attack in eastern region. Hearing the last piece of information, Glen's face turned red with anger.

The Vestry's army at northern border remained unactive for several days,which aroused many questions in minds of officials.

And suddenly, one day an scout from western frontier reached the northern frontier .

"I am scout from western frontier,invading armies have been defeated"

Hearing an good news out of nowhere surprised everyone, they felt like they had heard something wrong. And scout declared his report on this miracle ,

"Are you sure , we are going in right direction?"

"don't be stupid, I have lived in Ledia all my life if I didn't know the direction then noone".

"hey, there's a little town there, why don't we just ask someone about direction? ".

Ivy felt like an idiot, due to the miscalculation of compass, they has lost the direction and decided to ask someone in town.

It was night time, so town was visible from sky due to lighting. As they entered town, suspicious stares were directed towards Magnus and Ivy. Atmosphere was uneasy, an strange tension spread through town, Magnus entered a bar and took a seat before bartender, and ordered a bear,

"what's with this town?"

Bartender who was cleaning the glasses glanced towards Magnus,

"I think you must be a traveller",

"yes"

"that's why you are clueless about the situation".

Bartender's eyes were sharp, he was trying to see through the facade of Magnus but couldn't succeed. As bars were best places for gossips and discussions, the person incharge i.e bartender have an exposure to a lot of information. Since Magnus was an veteran he chose the place on purpose rather than calling upon stranger for information.

Magnus tossed a small sack of coins in front of bartender and he picked it up,

"well, since you are traveller, I can share some info"

"last night, the army which have been staying low in these areas, attacked the neighboring nation"

"locals are afraid due to the tension between nations".

Magnus who had finished his bear ordered another one and again tossed a sack of coins,

"what's the name of attacked nation?"

Picking up coins, bartender spoke up,

"our customer described it as Ledia kingdom",

"what about the quantity of army?"

"more than 100,000 troops".

Magnus gave a smile to bartender and left bar, Ivy who was clueless about situation was waiting for Magnus outside the bar.

"lets go, looks like party has been started".

Lifting Ivy up, Magnus dashed towards northern direction.

After flying for few minutes, Magnus spotted an military camp. To grasp the situation, Magnus visioned into camp and some soldiers were gossiping,

"looks like we won't be needed, since the army on other side is so weak"

"being reinforcements is really nice".

As Magnus's mind roam around camp, he got alot of information out of them. Since they were reinforcements of enemies, Magnus decided to take action.

Time has finally arrived for Ivy to witness the power of dead army. Magnus summoned about 2000 assassins and order them to kill without making any sound. Assassins dissappeared in darkness of night, Ivy looked at Magnus with absurd expression as he was sending just 2000 troops to Battle against more than 30,000 reinforcement unit. In the darkness of night, soldiers began dissappearing from camp, noone knew about the Massacre being occurring behind their backs.

In centre of camp in an huge tent, Some people with higher authority were discussing on the matter of invasion. When suddenly Magnus barged into the tent as if he has came for picnic, one of officials questioned,

"who are you? , where are guards? Guards"

Official called for guards many times , but noone showed up because guards were already became a part of dead army.

They pointed and attacked Magnus with their swords, but couldn't inflict any damage on him. Forming a sword, Magnus rushed towards them and sliced them like piece of cake. Ivy was shocked on the preformance of army and felt assured about the main event.

After turning camp into cemetery, Magnus rushed towards the warzone where the fierce battle was progressing, the invasion force were highly skilled that normal soldiers couldn't even hold candle against .

Ledia's forces were already at brink of defeat.

A huge number of troops were scene marching towards them,

"why have reinforcements arrived?, Who called them? ".

"Sir, they aren't our reinforcement, they are wearing black armours"

"then who could they be?"

Person incharge was totally confused on arrival of unknown army. At distance of about 100m, dead army stopped their marching and waited for Magnus to land,

"looks like we have reached on right time"

"dead army engage".

Dead army which stood like statues suddenly rushed towards warzone like herd of animals. Dark Mages started casting some spell and an shower of fireballs fall upon invasion forces.

Thinking of it an ambush, invasion forces engaged themselves in battle with dead army. Since the paladin was like general of dead army, it took out many heads within seconds. The other warriors engaged themselves in Massacre and killed many. Since Magnus has already activated quick cast, with the flow of time quantity of dead army increased at an astonishing rate, invasion forces got totally annihilated. The Ledia's forces who were watching the whole Massacre froze up and an familiar face makes its appearance i.e Ivy.

"don't worry, reinforcements have arrived".
