5 Chapter 5 - Contract
"So, what do you want? My soul? My body?" questioned Kuro with a pretty tensed face.
"Don't be so tense— hee hee" says Sumire gleefully "I just want to use you to escape from this dreadful place. After years of being in a situation of kill or killed, I just find this place suffocating."
Rhezaek coughs, alerting Sumire to hide. She is a criminal after all. Like the ghost she is, she passes right through Kuro and disappears. Runes appeared on his hand again. Except this time, there is only an image of a horned girl with a halo, with no traces of other runes.
Rhezaek opened his eyes. Realizing the situation, he quickly stands up, only to realize that the centipede on the ground is lifeless. With each of its segment ripped and frozen. The damage on the centipede is something that isn't possible for a normal human child to do.
"What happened here?!" asked Rhezaek as he takes a complete/good look of his surrounding, "Why is the beast cold/frozen? This is hell! Not a single frost/frozen beast should exist here! What did you do Kuro?"
"Say 'it's a demon's doing. It came to save us'" Sumire said to Kuro through telepathy. "Just follow what I'm going to say from now on".
"It's a demon's doing. It came to save us. Though, he already left a few minutes ago. He healed you by using a human soul". Kuro lied as natural as he can while under Sumire's command.
Rhezaek decided to take a closer look at the bug and touches it with his hands, "This is indeed a damage done by a demon… It is probably a high-ranking one since only high-ranking demons can use freezing spells but why is an ang—"
"Ouch! Something bit me!" disturbed Kuro while holding up his legs, panicked. "Huff huff" Kuro's face turns pale as he gasps for air. His leg seems to be punctured. Blood drips from the hole on his leg. Black cracks start to form near the injury.
"Based on the symptoms, it's better to rush to the demon lord's castle and seek for treatment there. It's only a few hour if we walk," said Rhezaek as he takes a look at Kuro's leg. "But it will only take a few minutes if I run.get on my back and hang tight. For now please bear with the pain and try to stop the bleeding". After placing Kuro on his back, Rhezaek dashes as fast as the speed of sound. Despite going at this speed, Kuro can't feel any air resistance. So he won't be thrown off even if he doesn't hold Rhezaek tightly, allowing him treat himself.
The pain seeps in deeper and the cracks were spreading at the same speed of Kuro's blood dripping out from the wound.
"I should test this theory" Kuro thought, "Stop the bleeding on my left leg" whispered Kuro without Rhezaek listening. It might be due to Sumire's power that the bleeding actually stopped. The cracks also stopped spreading.
Rhezaek's movement suddenly came to a halt. He drops Kuro on the ground while knowing damn well that Kuro's leg is injured and tilted his head. His face is filled with fear as he asks Kuro a question, "Is… Is that necro… necromancy? " There is an awkward silence between the two of them. "How did you stop the bleeding without touching it and why did I sense an angel's aura near you just now..." Rhezaek's face is shifting to a face full of grief as he pulls out a stone with transmission runes and said; "Yellow code, Necromancer detected, purgatory will happen at Ivy forest 75 asking for all demons nearby for assistance."
