4 Chapter 4 - Journey

As he wakes up to talk to the oni, his hands had been tied and clothes covered his mouth shut. The oni smirks and lifts Kuro. Not being able to do anything, he let the oni do his stuff. As he is leaving the dungeon, the looks of other creatures in the place filled with gladness. The oni jams the door open and hot air flows inside. The air is a little hot but it's bearable for Kuro. As he takes a peek at the outside world, he sees humans being forced to work, Humans trying to climb up from a pit filled with blood, humans being fed to dragons. This is way too terrible.

"MmmMmhMMhhMm!" Kuro tries to speak while he squirms like a worm.

The oni ignores Kuro's action and decides to walk faster. After walking non-stop for almost an hour, the oni stopped. He becomes tired and came to the conclusion to rest. He pulls out something from his bag which looks like a chunk of meat wrapped in black leaves. As he tries to take a bite, he sees Kuro looking like a starving cat. The oni untied him out of pity and gave Kuro half of the meat.

"Thanks for the meal," Said Kuro "uhhh... What's your name?"

"You may call me Rhezaek" he answers while trying to take a bite of his meat, "We're going to take a break for a moment, and then we will continue the journey to the demon king's castle. I believe you can walk by yourself from now on"

Delighted as Rhezaek seems friendly, Kuro quickly finishes his meal and got up on his feet. They then continue their journey. They pass through rocky mountains, bloody rivers, and fiery oceans. They were walking through a poisonous ivy forest when suddenly a giant centipede showed up and throws Rhezaek to a tree, knocking him unconscious. Seeing the big bug, Kuro's legs went weak. This is the worst scenario that could've ever happen as when Kuro was a kid, he was stung by a centipede and almost died. Kuro developed a fear of bugs after the incident.

"Use your sword, Kuro!" said a voice in his head. The voice is very similar to the girl that he had talked to before, "just call out her name and destiny's shall be on your side. You may even distort reality with her help"

"But what is her name?" asked Kuro when suddenly a beam of light appears from his right hand. The runes on his hands became readable words. "Sumire". As he said it, the runes on his hands started to move higher up to his hands. It detaches itself and forms a sword in Kuro's hands, letting out a huge gust of wind and pushing the centipede a little bit farther.

"Say your wish and I shall grant it. This is a contract and I will receive a prize for granting your wish," said Sumire to Kuro through telepathy.

"Save me and Rhezaek! Kill this monster for me!" plead Kuro as the centipede tries to get closer to him.

"Possess", a simple yet effective spell. Kuro's body is taken over by Sumire. She grips the sword firmly in her hands, takes a deep breath, and points the sword at the massive bug. "Exterminate," said Sumire calmly. "Break. Agony. Suffer. Freeze. Die. " continued Sumire.

The spells take effect as soon as it was said. The centipede squirmed like a normal-sized worm as it dies, leaving a horrendous smell of poison. Kuro snapped back to reality and quickly goes to check on Rhezaek. He is breathing normally and all his wounds seemed to have closed up. Thanks to Sumire, they were safe. Kuro decides to wait for Rhezaek to wake up instead of escaping. The sword that is in his hands then started to change shape to the girl named Sumire.

"I will be claiming my prize as I said," said Sumire.
