Chapter 20: Visiting the Magic Council

After the training in the forest, Natsu decided to go on a small journey to locate Zancrow. The only clue he had about his whereabout is Ultear. She is a member of Grimoire Heart and working as a spy in the Magic Council.
Natsu needs to head toward Era to visit the Magic Council. Luckily, Makarov had a quest that required an S-class mage to submit a yearly report about guild activities to the council. Natsu happily accepted the quest and set on a journey to meet Ultear.
He took the train as his mode of transportation. Even though Natsu doesn't severely get affected due to his motion-sickness, he still feels uncomfortable in a moving vehicle. So, he applies a small amount of magic to float himself to counter his motion-sickness.
The journey to Era was peaceful, so he arrived there without any difficulty.

When Natsu was trying to enter the Magic council through the entrance, two frog-like people wearing Magic Council uniform stopped him.
"Halt! Who are you and what is your purpose of visiting the Magic Council. If you don't have an authorization, then leave now!" shouted one of the guys.
"I'm Natsu Dragneel of Fairy Tail Guild. I'm here to submit yearly reports about our guild activities," said Natsu calmly. One of the frog-man quickly whispered something to a magic device looking like a walkie talkie, then after getting a reply, he whispered something to the other guy.
"You can go inside. Please be on your best behavior. This isn't your guild where you can act as you please." said one of the frog-man in a warning.
Natsu just ignored their warning and entered inside. Inside, he met with another frog-man who looked like a messenger who showed him the way. On the way, he saw his target, Ultear, surrounded by many councilmen discussing something important.
Ultear is a pale-skinned woman with dark purple hair and brown eyes. She has a rather voluptuous figure.
She also noticed someone's gaze on her and turned to look toward Natsu. Natsu took his chance to say something using his mouth that only Ultear would understand. "Grimoire Heart"
This instantly got her attention, but Natsu just left her there, waving back at her with a wink. She just excused herself from others and started following Natsu secretly.
Natsu finished submitting his report and left the Council toward the nearby forest. After making sure nobody was nearby, he shouted. "Okay, you can come out now. There is nobody here."
There was silence for a bit, but afterward, a feminine voice replied to him. "I don't know whether you're confident or just an idiot seeing how you confronted me just like this."
Then, a feminine figure greeted him. Natsu just grinned and replied. "I just wanted to meet you, Ultear Milkovich, daughter of Ur Milkovich and one of a member of Seven Kin of Purgatory."
"Don't mention that wretched woman's name in front of me. Now tell me why you are looking for me, Natsu Dragneel, a member of the Fairy Tail guild. Otherwise, don't blame me for eliminating you right now." said Ultera with a threat. She doesn't believe that Natsu is stronger than her.
"I just want to trade some information with you," said Natsu with a calm voice.
"And, before you refuse me, let me tell you it is related to the person you're so desperately searching for," said Natsu seeing Ultear ready to refuse him. Ultear was shocked hearing this but still maintained her wariness.
"What do you mean by the person I'm searching for? Don't joke around with me. I'm not looking for anybody." replied Ultear denying his accusation.
"Really? Then I guess I'll leave now. The information I had was about the legendary dark mage, Zeref." said Natsu trying to leave the area, but Ultear quickly stopped him.
"What do you know about him? I need to know everything you know about him," asked Ultear seriously. She still doesn't believe Natsu entirely, but it doesn't hurt her to listen to him.
"I know something about him that nobody in Fiore knows. It's up to you to trade for this information," said Natsu shrugging his shoulders.
"What do you want in return? I can always beat you and torture the information out of you," said Ultear raising her magic level. But it did nothing to intimidate Natsu.
"You can always try," replied Natsu with a grin raising his magic level, completely overshadowing her. She was shocked watching this and started sweating profusely.
"So what do you think? Do you want to trade or not?" asked Natsu dismissing his magic. Ultear calmed down and rejected her magic and stared at him in wonder. Natsu is still a kid in her eyes, but the magic he possessed is enormous.
"What do you want in return? I won't give you any sensitive information." inquired Ultear trying to get the best out of the situation.
"I need you to tell me everything you know about Zancrow and his whereabouts. I need him for something," said Natsu calmly.
"Why do you need, Zancrow? I don't think you've ever met him," asked Ultear, trying to gain more information.
"What I need him for isn't anything you should concern yourself with. Just tell me everything about him and his whereabouts. As much as I know, you also don't like Zancrow that much. So why to waste so much time over something unnecessary." replied Natsu in a blank stare.
"Humph! Just let's get this over. Blah... blah... blah..." said Ultear. Then she started telling him all the information she knows about Zancrow, including his whereabouts.
"Now it's your turn. What is the information you know about Zeref that nobody knows in the entire Fiore? I hope it is worth it; otherwise, I will never trade with you again." said Ultear with a cocked head.
"I am sure it is worth it. The emperor of the Alvarez Empire is Zeref. I hope to see you again beautiful." said Natsu leaving the area while waving his hands. Ultear was shocked hearing this but soon composed herself watching the leaving figure.
"He called me beautiful. I'm sure we'll meet again, Natsu Dragneel. I hope you're prepared to meet me again, ufufufu~" said Ultear giggling. She also left the area soon to make some amends in her plans.
