Chapter 17: Physical Magic Organ

Before I had evolved one of the main changes in my body had been the addition of a [Physical Magic Organ].

Yet when I actually evolved, I had completely neglected it in favor of trying out my newfound strength!

I think that it's about time I addressed both that, AND my singular skill point which I got from who knows where.

Lets look at the organ first

<[Physical Magic Organ]: An organ which allows the user to enhance parts of their body or actions through the use of specific types of magical amplification.>

<The user can select a specific enhancement type they want through the magic organ menu, and has been given a single skill point to buy an initial effect.>

I see... that also spells out how I got my skill point... show me the magic organ menu!

Another menu popped up similar to the mutation menu, however this one had all the different kinds of effects I could achieve with my magic organ.

Woahhhhhh...

There are so many options here!

Not trying to say that the other menus don't also have a lot of options, but some of the other menu's options aren't exactly... logical.

This window has a bunch of different effects I can get and all of them seem amazing!

For instance I can give myself the [Burning] physical attribute which can make my whole body hotter preventing enemies from touching me for too long and letting me burn my enemies as I grapple them!

Or I could get the [Sound] attribute which can amplify or silence all the sounds that I make which can be used for both stealth and bursting my opponents eardrums!

Let's see the next one! It's... [Smelly]...

Of course it's [Smelly] why wouldn't it be.

This good ole' system is hellbent on making me reek like there's no tomorrow.

Ewwww. The description for [Smelly] also says at later ranks it can make someone nauseous just from thinking about the smell...

Regardless, I still need to pick my attribute.

I could of course go with something flashy like the [Light] attribute which can help blind enemies and creature visuals, or I could go in the opposite direction and get the [Invisibility] attribute to help hide myself better.

I feel like [Invisibility] is a bit unnecessary because of my camouflage skill though...

[Rending] attribute? Allows one to rip apart enemies quicker and more efficiently, at later ranks can be used to rip the environment and apart?

That sounds sick...

[Sturdy] attribute? Allows one to be harder to move and increases defense, at later ranks can make one immovable...

I wonder if this one could lead me down the path of invincibility...

Oh? What's this?

[Density] attribute? Allows one to manipulate their density at will. At later ranks can one can affect individual parts of themselves and manipulate their entire physical state?

I think I might've found it.

With the [Density] attribute I should be able to increase both my offense and defense by making myself denser, and then I should be able to increase my speed by making myself lighter!

Plus I'm really curious about the later stages of this one as well.

Naturally all of the other descriptions of the later stages sounds sick as well, aside from [Smelly], but this one notably makes me think it will stand out from the rest.

<Are you sure you wish to choose [Density] as you're primary attribute?>

<Yes/No>

Yep, it's decided.

Not only do I like this one the most out of all the ones I've seen so far, but I also really don't want to have to look at the [Smelly} attribute option anymore...

<Very well>

<Evolving [Physical Magic Organ] into [Density Physical Magic Organ]>

*Gurgle Gurgle...*

I look down at my stomach only to realize that my stomach is no longer below me and I look up to where it actually is.

Am I hungry? But I just ate like not even 20 minutes ago!

Wha-

A searing pain rips through my body as all of my limbs stop moving and my mind blanks out.

Deep inside of Oliver's mantle (head/main organ cavity) a tiny slab of meat or rather his physical magic organ slowly grows as it rumbles and increases it's size, gaining a golden-purplish color to it.

The blue blood in his veins protrudes out of his skin further as its color changes to follow the purple ravaging around his body.

His suckers on his tentacle turn into a golden color as their imprinting mark stretches and compresses gradually forming a indeterminate shape on each individual sucker.

The sequence continues until his entire body has been both enveloped by his purple blood and his suckers have changed at which point everything about him slowly begins to revert to normal.

His blood returns to blue, his veins sink back down underneath his skin, and his suckers lose their golden glow.

"Owwww..." Oliver groaned out loud

'Most of the mutations and even my main evolution didn't hurt as much as that'

He looked around from a rock that he had been scrolling through the menu on and sighed in relief when he noticed that nothing had changed around him.

Looking back at his status he now saw in his both his skills and mutations tabs that they now had [Density Manipulation] (Level 1) (Tier 1) and [Density Physical Magic Organ] (Level 1) (Tier 1) respectively.

All right! Let's try this bad boy out then!

He got up from his rock and looked around him until he found a suitable stone about half the size of himself lying a little distance away.

Preparing himself, Oliver dashed forward and activated his ability on only one of his tentacles.

[You have activated Density Manipulation]

Nothing about the arm actually changes, but he can feel the arm get heavier as it slows down through the water due to its newfound weight. However the arm still strikes the rock with considerable momentum before...

*BAM!*

The rock was suddenly shatter into smithereens as his tentacle went straight through it to hit the dirt behind it.

Woahhhhhhh! That was amazing!

Is this what it feels like to have superpowers!

He's inner monologue was suddenly stopped as he felt his arm return to his previous weight and a massive headache strike him before hearing the notification go off in his head.

<You have consumed all of your mana>

<You are currently in a mana deprived state>

<All stats have been decreased by 50%>

Huh? WHAT????

...

OH MY GOD!

I'M AN IDIOT.

Thinking back through my status I never once had increased the magic stat of mine...

Does that mean that I had consumed all 10 of my mana in less than a second?

Feeling as though I had made a great mistake with my magic organ choice I began to freak out before forcefully calming myself down.

No no no, wait a minute, calm down.

Your magic stat is currently at one, and having something that has a high mana consumption isn't necessarily a bad thing.

If something needs more fuel, naturally it should be stronger... right?

I reassure myself as I wobble back over to the rock still feeling the headache assaulting me.

Ha, at least I did this after the fight, not that I couldn't have just waited for my mana to come back, but at least I figured this out eventually.

grabbing some of the seaweed around me and piling it on top of myself and around me, I squeezed myself together and activated [Camouflage] before slowing my breathes and getting some well deserved shut eye.
