The next day the entire village had found out about the Uchiha Massacre and Itachi was declared the culprit and announced as an S-rank Missing Shinobi. The streets were bustling with people but fear and anxiety could be clearly seen in the eyes of people. They knew that the Uchiha clan was one of the most powerful clans and for such a clan to almost be wiped out in a single night by the eldest son of the Patriarch was enough to instill fear among their hearts. Not just the commoners but also the shinobis were in turmoil.

They were afraid that if this news spread to other villages then they may see this as an opportunity to attack the Hidden Leaf Village. In the Konoha hospital, 2 rooms were heavily guarded by the Anbu. In one of the rooms a kid with black eyes and spiky black hair with a blue tint. He had hair bangs on both sides of his face. He was looking out of the window and his eyes were cold.

"Is my brother Yami alright?" Sasuke asked while clenching the bedsheet as he didn't want to hear that even his little brother was dead.

"Yes, he is fine and is sleeping in the next room. Wait for a few minutes, Hokage-sama is coming to meet you" Tenzo said. Tenzo was the name Kakashi gave him he transferred to Kakashi's squad from Root.

The door to the room opened and the 3rd Hokage Hiruzen Sarutobi entered the room. He signaled Tenzo to leave the room and Tenzo simply bowed and left the room. Hiruzen walked and sat beside Sasuke's bed.

"Sasuke I am really sorry for what you had to go through yesterday. We didn't find out about the massacre until after it happened. I have already sent 3 squads of Jonin to search for him." Hiruzen in a grandfatherly voice.

"Thank you, Lord Hokage. I can't believe that Itachi could do this" Sasuke said with a pained expression. The words that Itachi said while leaving were still echoing in his mind.

"You are not worth Killing"

"Sasuke for now you take rest and I will go and meet your brother Yami." Hiruzen said and Sasuke wanted to say something but he stopped himself and just nodded. Hiruzen left the room and went to Yami's room.

'I will become strong enough and kill you Itachi no matter what I have to do' Sasuke had decided on the goal of his life.

In the next room, Hiruzen was standing beside Kakashi and Yami was sleeping peacefully on the bed. Hiruzen went close to Yami and frowned "I heard he was sick for the past few weeks but now that I look at him personally his body is well refined and just like the report said he has mid-chunin level chakra. He is stronger than Sasuke even when he is 3 years younger. Fugaku and Mikito sure gave birth to prodigies and each one is better than the other." Hiruzen sighed and was about to leave when something caught his eye.

'What is this tattoo on his wrist? I don't sense any chakra from it but it feels different. ' Hiruzen thought.

"Is something the matter Hokage-sama?" Kakashi asked.

"It's nothing Kakashi. I'll be on my way" Hokage said.

In the evening Yami woke up and saw Kakashi sitting on the couch reading a book that looked like makeout tactics.

"Ahem...Ahem"

"Ohh Yami you woke up. That's good. Do you feel any discomfort or pain?"

"No my body feels alright. Where is Sasuke?" Yami asked. He expected Sasuke to wake up by this time.

"He already woke up a few hours ago but due to mental and physical fatigue we had him sent home. We told him that as soon as you wake up, I'll bring you home." Kakashi said.

"Alright, let's go" Yami said as he got up from the bed and stretched his body a little.

Kakashi walked with Yami towards the Uchiha compound. Many people who were passing by saw Yami with sympathy.

'At least I am not getting eyes filled with hatred that they gave Naruto. Not that I care what a bunch of powerless commoners think about me but still pity is better than hatred' Yami sighed as he continued to walk until they reached the Uchiha compound.

"Yami I will be going now. You take care of yourself" Kakashi said and body flickered away.

Yami walked towards his house and saw that the half-burnt part was removed and thrown away at the side. He went towards it and there were still some traces of blood on the wood.

"Yami?" A voice came from behind

"Sasuke it's you. Are you alright?" Yami turned back and saw his brother Sasuke standing with a Shuriken in hand and he was sweating profusely

"I am fine Yami. I was practicing shuriken jutsu. Come in we'll eat something" Sasuke said and Yami nodded.

After a few minutes, both of them were sitting on opposite sides of the table while eating ramen. They hadn't said a word to each other.

"What have you decided to do now Yami?" Sasuke asked

"What do you mean?" Yami asked in a confused tone.

"I plan to become strong enough to be able to kill Itachi. He killed everyone in our clan including our parents."

"Sasuke I think we should think about it rather than going in headfirst into this." hearing this Sasuke frowned

"How can you say that Yami? He killed our parents, he left us alive only because we weren't worth it. Do you think he is still the same Itachi who would bring scrolls filled with chocolates for you?" Sasuke asked while banging his fist on the table in anger.

"I don't know if he is the same or not but you surely aren't the same Sasuke who listened to me."

"What do you want me to do now then? Let him live? Let the man who destroyed our lives live?"

"For now let's clean up the table and then go to our parent's graves" Yami stood up.

"Yami you do whatever you want but I have decided the path I want to pursue. We will take our own paths and let's see which one is right" Sasuke said and left.

'Whatever, it's not like I care a lot about him still, I want to tell him the truth. But he will probably rush towards Danzo and get himself killed and fuck me over. It's time to learn some genjutsu, I will join the academy next year.' Yami yawned and left the room as well.
