2 Chapter 2

With heavy eyelids and feeling comfortably warm, she nuzzles the cushion. For one blissful moment, she thinks the choices are some part of a dream. However, that doesn't last as she feels something uncomfortable between her legs. She thinks is another of her pet's toys that somehow ended up under her bed, so without much thought she grabs it.

And promptly moves her hand away as if burnt.

That hurt.

She slowly stands up. First touching her chest in which there isn't anything and then touching down between her legs, where there is something. A slightly small fleshy something.

Shit.

And if that wasn't enough, a panel appears in front of her face. A familiar panel.

'Welcome to the Template System,' it repeats the first words it said. Before a red exclamation symbol lights up next to it. She concentrates on it unconsciously and another panel appears as soon as she focuses on it. 'Repeat the word 'status' for it to appear.'

She blinks and it disappears, turning itself into the same symbol as before, though now placed on the left bottom of her vision. She focuses on it and it appears once again in front of her. She slowly approaches a hand to it, before stopping and looking at her hand. Or more accurate would be to say 'not looking' at her hand because she can't see it. She feels it but can't see it. She tries touching it but finds it painfully small. That surely is not her hand, is it? It's slender as her old hand but smaller. Much smaller.

"Souma, when are you going to wake up?!"

That shout surely put her out of her thoughts. She accidentally also touched the panel, which isn't solid but still feels as if were something gaseous. The text changes, too.

'Status'

Host: Souma Yukihira

Ability: Water bending (low-beginner level), Kenbunshoku Haki (high-novice level)

Dokiri: 9

Energy control: 10%

Character Template: Katara (5%), Dracule Mihawk (2%)

Woah.

"Souma, did you hear me?!"

She's about to answer when a light pain comes to her, a small headache that hurts more for how unexpected it came. She feels information being downloaded into her brain. 6 years of memory come and go.

By the time the pain has faded somewhat, her door is being knocked on twice. Then she hears it open and what comes from her mouth is strangely familiar as it is unconscious.

"Mom, I told you to not come inside like that! I'm a big boy now!"

Her mother giggles as she comes inside and pulls her into a hug. "My little Souma is becoming a big boy now. Does that mean I'm becoming an old lady?"

Even if she feels weird at being hugged, she still knows how weird some women act about their age so she answers with an "Of course not, mom!"

"Good boy! Now let's go to the restaurant. You wanted to help out, didn't you?" She's not sure why but some part inside her is brimming with joy, so she nods quickly. "After all the practice—Wait. Your eyes. What's wrong with your eyes?"

Fuck. She hasn't got the time to check the memories but she thought she would have been born blind or something, not whatever is happening now.

"Sweety, do you feel something strange with your eyes?" her mother of this world says, her voice trembling at the end.

Oh well, better to rip this off like a band-aid.

"Dunno. I can't see anything, though."

As if those were the magic words, she's then thrown into a whirlwind of sounds and sensations she's still a bit unsure how to process. One moment she is in this body's room; the next, she's in the hospital. A doctor in front of her, asking questions and such. Her mouth is a little dry so she continues answering questions with a nod or shake of her head.

It's not until someone opens the door and comes inside, that something feels different. For one moment, she's able to see something outside of the blackness that is her sight. It takes her a couple of seconds for her to understand that is the water that the person who came inside brought with them.

She's spacing out, she knows, but still, she can help but feel her eyes water as she sees something after so long. So, in all her stupidity, she tries to reach it with a hand. And apparently, it is closer than she thought as she made the thing containing the water, fall.

Without thinking she tries to grab it. And she succeeds!

There's still a crash-like sound though.

It takes her a moment for her to realize that she's still grabbing the water, somehow, but she heard something fall. Also, the room is strangely silent.

"Yukihira-kun," the doctor starts, but she doesn't let him finish.

"I'm sorry!" she says, the water she's been grabbing finally falling with a splash onto the ground as her concentration wavers. "I didn't mean to, I just wanted something to drink."

"It's okay. But can you tell me how you did that?"

She tries not to squirm at the intensity of his voice, feeling like she screwed up somehow. She doesn't think Danzo will come to her for such action, right? After all, she's blind, so maybe—

"Yukihira-kun," the doctor says, his tone becoming gentler.

She slowly nods. "I was just curious. From the moment I woke up, I haven't been able to see anything. This was the first time I saw something. I was able to see the water. I tried to reach it 'cause I was thirsty but it fell… Am I in trouble?"

"Don't worry, Souma-kun, you aren't in trouble," he said with a smile.

Well, that isn't ominous at all.

The second chapter came sooner because I realized how similar the first chapter was to the twin of this fic, so yeah, to differentiate them I posted the second one quickly. The next chapter will come next week probably.
