8 [Chapter 8] Academy and Chakra Nature

Konoha,

Ninja Academy,

Ryo was standing outside the academy entrance.

Many children had arrived with their parents.

The clan kids were all 5 years old and most of the civilians were 6 years with the exception of some people like Sakura.

Ryo was standing alone as he did not have any friends.

Since he was 3 years old, even before gaining his old memories, he used to help his neighbours with their shop, which sold novelty items, and that's how they made their living.

They always insisted Ryo go play outside and make some friends but Ryo persistently said no.

Ryo was very mature from a young age, he thought that helping with the store will help him gain some experience which in turn will help him earn good money.

He had planned to drop out from the ninja academy after some time so that he can start work early and provide for his brother.

His goals changed when he regained his memories.

Earlier, Souta also wanted to help out but Ryo told him to go play and enjoy.

Souta hesitated but finally agreed when Ryo told him that he enjoyed working in the shop very much.

As Ryo was looking around, his eyes fell on Naruto, who had a grin on his face like always and was talking with Choji and Shikamaru.

Behind them were their parents who were also talking among themselves and even Minato was there which was not surprising since Naruto was going to start the academy.

He also saw Sauske who was with Itachi, but Sauske was a bit annoyed as Ino and Sakura were trying to talk to him.

'Good thing I wore a mask' thought Ryo with a smile under his mask.

After some time, the gate opened and a person with a notepad came out and said,

"I am going to call out your names and classroom. Each and every student's application has been analysed carefully and the classrooms have been decided accordingly."

Ryo was in the same classroom as Naruto which was the same as in the canon.

Every class had a balance between civilians and clan kids.

Everyone was leaving for the classroom and the parents started shouting "bye bye" to their kids and the loudest one was Kushina.

Seeing this scene Ryo thought with a sad expression,

'Mom Dad...'

Just as he was going to get in the academy building, he heard a big shout,

"Good luck big brother."

It was none other than Souta who was with their grandparents.

Ryo smirked, turned his head and waved them a good bye, the emptiness he felt a moment ago fully vanished and his eyes became even firmer.

As Ryo reached his class, he sat at the left corner of the class.

After everyone sat down, the door opened and a person with a leaf headband came in and started to speak,

"Hello everyone, my name is Yahiro Nakamura and I will be your teacher for this year. Now before we start please introduce yourself and also tell what your dream is."

Everything was the same as in the anime, Naruto still wanted to become the Hokage but this time he wanted to be like his dad and also no one laughed at him this time.

Finally it was Ryo's chance as he got up and spoke,

"My name is Ryo Inoue and my dream is to become a strong kenjutsu user."

'That was pretty normal right?' thought Ryo.

Obviously his ambitions were much bigger.

After learning theory for some time in the classroom, everyone went out on the ground for taijutsu sparring.

The first match was between Naruto and Sauske.

Unlike the anime, both were evenly matched but Sauske outsmarted Naruto.

He did a feint kick which Naruto prepared to block and then Sauske punched him, throwing Naruto out of the sparring circle.

Naruto got up and shouted,"I will definitely defeat you next time Sauske!"

Sauske just said "humph" and after making the seal of reconciliation, he left the sparring circle while many girls cheered for him.

"Good fight Naruto",said Hinata in an inaudible voice while stealing glances at him.

Seeing Hinata blush while seeing Naruto, Ryo thought,

'Some things will never change huh, he must have saved her from bullies.'

When Ryo's turn came, he was matched up with some civilian kid from his class.

'No one would be surprised if I defeat him' thought Ryo with a smirk on his face.

The civilian kid did not waste any time, he rushed and aimed a punch at Ryo's face as soon as the spar began.

Ryo dodged the punch easily by ducking just as it was going to reach him and sweeped the boy's legs.

The boy fell on his stomach.

As soon as he fell down Ryo locked both the boy's arm on his back.

The boy screamed,

"I give up."

This all happened very fast.

Everyone, including the teacher was surprised by Ryo's reaction speed and they all gave him a surprised look but after a moment everyone just shrugged it off as a fluke and started talking among themselves as usual.

'Oh God! I held back so much and it wasn't enough?! I have to be more careful the next time.' thought Ryo in frustration.

Luckily no one there put much attention on him, if it was someone like Sauske who got defeated then they would have made a big fuss.

Kushinas POV

A little while ago,

On the top of a tree near the academy,

Kushina had come to watch Naruto fight.

After the fight between Naruto and Sauske,

'Aww... he has grown so much, he fought very well, I will take him out for Ramen to cheer him up, I remember my days when I pummeled everyone to the ground hahahaha...'

'Let's watch some more fights, I don't have anything to do anyways.'

After a while,

'Naruto can defeat everyone else, after all I trained him myself hahaha...'

'After seeing this match I will go and tell Minato about this, he will surely be happy.'

As the civilian kid was going to punch Ryo,

'This mask kid is going to loose, ok let's leave now'

Just as she was about to leave she saw something she did not expect,

'What! So fast! Even Naruto or Sauske wouldn't be able to do that! Just how did this kid train?!Maybe it was just a fluke?'

'Hmm.... there is no use thinking about it'

'Minato will be happy after listening to how well Naruto fought.'

The academy was over and Ryo was on his way home.

He was invited by other kids to play but he gave an excuse and left.

As he was walking through the streets he thought,

'Today was so boring, I did not even learn anything new, I guess I have to start working on the shadow clone jutsu and send a clone, who knows when one of those maniacs will start attacking, I have to get stronger as soon as possible.'

'Then it is decided! I will start practicing lightning nature.'

'I can use the concepts of Chakra Scalpul jutsu on my sword instead of a kunai and I can even coat the sword with lightning!' thought Ryo with excitement.

'Before that I have yet to check my chakra nature, I know I have lightning, I am curious if I have any more.'

Ryo bought a Chakra paper and went home.

In Ryo's room,

"Here goes nothing" spoke Ryo infusing chakra in the chakra paper.

One part of the paper crumpled immediately and another part split into two.

"Wind and Lightning..... ok now that I got rid of my curiosity, I will put full effort into practicing lightning nature!" spoke Ryo, full of determination.
