22 [Chapter 22] The City

At the city where the Daimyo lives,

"What a big city! It's so much bigger than our village", said Hakuto as he looked around excitedly.

"Wow..." spoke Ryo as he looked around in surprise too and thought,

'there is so much more in this world than the anime depicted.... amazing.'

Hayate just kept quiet as he knew how they would react and thought,

'haha.... I and my teammates reacted the same way when we visited this place for the first time.'

"It is always funny to see the reaction of the newcomers hahaha", commented one of the passerbys.

Ryo and Hakuto reacted as if a country bumpkin had visited the city for the first time.

"Now listen up. Both of you can explore the city till night, we will stay at an inn as the appointment with the Daimyo is for tomorrow morning, also let me tell you about good spots in the city....", spoke Hayate.

Being a ninja for a long time, Hayate had visited this city many times and knew the best places, which he was telling to his students.

"Won't you come along with us Sensei?" asked Hakuto.

"No, I have to give an order for a sword, this one has become a bit old", Hayate said pointing towards his sword, "The weapons they make here are of very good quality, also Yugao told me to pick up some stuff for her."

(A/N:- Yugao is Hayate's girlfriend(as shown in the canon) and before anyone asks, No, Yugao will not be Ryo's love interest. Infact there won't be any girlfriend stealing. I think it is just wrong to do something like that.)

"Then Ryo are you coming?" asked Hakuto.

"Yeah let's go, this city is very interesting", spoke Ryo with excitement.

The city was a lot bigger than Konohagakure.

The building structures were a little better than the ones in Konoha.

The city was filled with vendors selling different things ranging from street food to jewellery. Their shops were decorated with various decorations like colourful lights, various kinds of shiny objects, beautiful calligraphy etc. The streets were filled with the aroma of the diverse dishes which were being sold, one would drool if they visited the place for the first time.

Performers were all around, doing various tricks while people were cheering for them.

The city was a famous tourist destination and it was currently a peak time for tourists to come.

In the centre of the city was a very big building which was the residence as well as the workplace of the Daimyo.

The residence was very tightly guarded by ninjas.

The places near it were heavily guarded too and ninjas were discreetly patrolling the whole city.

These ninjas were from various clans supported by the Daimyo and their main job was to protect the city and the Daimyo. This was unlike the leaf village where the ninjas had to take various kinds of missions.

There was a pact between all the hidden villages, which was not to attack the cities where the Daimyo lived, which is why the city had a very high population mainly containing civilians.

Though there was a pact, there was no lack of rouge ninjas who did not follow these rules and tried to assassinate important people like ministers and wealthy merchants living in the city, thus ninjas were required.

"Don't you think that the security is a little too much? It is especially increasing as we are going towards to the centre." spoke Hakuto.

"It sure is...." said Ryo as he thought,

'This must be because of Zabuza, information about him must have been concealed or the streets wouldn't have been so glamarous and filled. The other people must be thinking that it is because of the influx of tourists that the security is increasing.'

"We will ask Sensei about this later, since he is a Jonin, he should know about this", said Ryo as he thought,

'Sorry Hakuto, I can't tell you the truth....'

"Hmmm.... yeah we will ask Sensei later and since he did not stop us from roaming around, we should not be in any danger or else he would have at least warned us. Let's go and eat, I am hungry!" said Hakuto, placing his hand on his stomach.

"I am hungry too, I have heard of a good restaurant, let's go there", said Ryo agreeing with Hakuto.

The place where they were going was where the informant was serving as a waiter to conceal his identity.

Entering the place, Ryo thought,

'There is indeed tight security as Hokage sama said and since these guards know our mission, they will not bother us, after all what trouble could a Genin cause, it will be easy to get the scroll.'

As the food arrived, Ryo and Hakuto started feasting on the delicacy which was laid in front of them.

"This was so good!" exclaimed Hakuto as he caressed his stomach.

"Yeah it was good but just you wait, there is a very good restaurant that is going to open in our village and it will blow your mind", said Ryo as he thought about the restaurant his brother was going to open and then started chuckling.

"Really!? What will they serve, do you have any idea?" asked Hakuto in excitement.

"Secret, hehe", said Ryo with a smirk, enjoying Hakutos frustration after hearing the answer.

"Let's pay at the counter and leave."

Ryo got up and headed towards the counter.

"Yeah, we have many places to go", Hakuto said.

After paying and secretly getting the information scrolls, Ryo left with Hakuto.

In a place close to the city,

"Can we attack tomorrow?" asked Zabuza as he turned and looked towards Haku.

"Yes, since the rumours have spread, he will be leaving the city to not get involved in such matters, your plan is ingenious sir", Haku spoke with admiration in his eyes.

"He is just a minister with some weak ninjas, we will finish him as soon as he steps out, he would have never imagined that he is the target and not the Daimyo", Zabuza said in a serious tone.
