Chapter 11 : Divine Dogs And Wolf

After the demonstration of Shikamaru's technique, Hokage was sure that it was no mere technique but a Kekkei Genkai, he also understood that a genius brain like Shikaku would not make this mistake of mistaking a Blood Line Limit as a mere jutsu, no the lazy yet genius Nara did it intentionally.

Hokage too after realizing why Shikaku did it, didn't talk too much about it, but after today, even Hokage wanted to bring Shikamaru under his wing, someone who held the will of fire in his heart and above all, wanted to look after the child. He can be the source of a new Blood Line in the village. Now he has become a clan heir and an important person in the village.

Something very similar to both Naruto and Sasuke, the last Uchiha and Uzumaki who also happens to be the Jinchuriki of the Nine Tails.

And to some extent, the elders of the Nara clan were the same, they had much understanding of the shadow technique of their clan and there was no way a child, no matter how genius he was, could do something that Shikamaru did.

They too knew that it was a Kekkei Genkai, and from that point onwards, Shikamaru's status improved in the clan multiple folds, to the point that many Elders wanted to train him or fix his marriage.

Shikamaru didn't interact with this though, Shikaku handled everything.

Right now, Shikamaru was in the forest, the reason why he was here was because he wanted to tame another spirit. 

What made him do this, was simple he didn't currently have any way to attack. His fist and Kunai might be his only way to attack but just how much damage he can do with those. And right now he only had one way, to summon a spirit who could attack.

So he formed a special hand sigh to summon the next spirit and his then two ethereal forms emerged from his shadow – a majestic black wolf and an elegant white wolf. Intrigued yet cautious, Shikamaru realized that these spirits were unlike anything he had encountered before. And this was the exact one which Megumi used at the start of JJK.

They emanated a divine aura, indicating a power beyond the ordinary. 'Divine Dogs' Shikamaru smiled as he knew that they were attack-type pokem... I mean attack-type spirit.

However, the real challenge lay ahead – Shikamaru had to test his mastery over the divine wolves in a battle of wills and strength. As they unlike the rabbit and toad will attack back.

He immediately activated his shadow possession upon seeing the wolf already targeting him, in fact, he panicked hard when seeing their insane speed. They close the space between them and him in an instant.

Fortunately, he was fast enough to reach their shadow before they reached him and held them down.

"Shit they are strong," Shikamaru was having trouble holding them down, they were not like any normal wolf, they are faster and much stronger, currently his own shadow possession technique is enough to hold down an entire pack of wolves but here he was having a hard time hold just two normal size wolves back. And why do they call them dogs anyway?

"Hey I don't want to kill you, so I suggest just agreeing with the taming ritual and becoming my summon spirits," Shikmaru said having a hard time holding both of them back.

"Woooooooooooo" 

They on the other hand started to howl and then suddenly something happened that almost gave him a heart attack.

Both the wolves suddenly turned into shadow and merged. Turning into a towering giant wolf.

Snap.

The shadow possession broke and sent him almost tumbling down, but before that, he was faced with a huge wolf ready to completely devour him.

With wide eyes like saucers, he instantly activated replacement jutsu and replaced himself with a log of wood.

Appearing somewhere in the distance, he looked back at the wolf who bit the log of wood and to his surprise even the log of wood was crushed into two pieces between that giant jaw and razor-like teeth.

'I was this close to dying back then,' Shikamaru thought as his fast-beating heart was working overdrive.

But this was not over as the ware wolf then rush towards him again. 

"Shit, Shadow Rabbit Emergence," Shikamaru shouted and with that, his shadow moved and many white shadows emerge between him and the Ware Wolf.

"Wolf,"

Shikamaru used this change to make a shadow clone and run on the opposite side.

Thanks fully his bait worked and the wolf immediately went for his shadow clone, giving him enough time to make another shadow clone and box the wolf in.

"Gama," Shikamaru made another hand sigh and multiple toads appeared surrounding the wolf who just attacked the shadow clone and it puffed away.

" Grab it," He shouted as multiple toads of various sizes extended their tongues to grab the wolf, the timing was just right that the wolf did not have the time to dodge.

But this was not enough, even 9 toads were unable to hold back the wolf. This is the exact reason why he created another clone, as both he and the clone extended their shadows at the same time, one using shadow possession and one shadow strangle to stop the wolf.

As the shadow warped around the ware wolf the resistance it was putting in was reduced but still it was strong, so strong that the had to summon another 5 toads to just hold him down, almost making his chakra hit rock bottom with all this shadow summoning, and other jutsu.

"Fast, I am almost out of chakra," shouted his clone.

He too immediately took out a kunai and rushed at the wolf, he knew by this point that this wolf rather die than give up like the rabbit and the toad. 

Rushing at the wolf, he warps the kunai with a thin layer of chakra to make it more lethal and stab the wolf at the heart. 

This was not actually killing the spirit, during the taming ritual the spirit doesn't actually die but rather upon defeat or death, it returns back to the shadow world, marking the completion of the ritual and ultimately becoming his summon spirit.

"Wwwwwfffffffff" 

As soon as he stabbed the heart of the wolf, the wolf started to howl, but he was sure that those howls were not from pain.

And with that the Warewolf vanish from its place, marking this as his victory in taming the divine dogs or divine wolf.

'Now that I think about it, they are Divine Dog when separated and Divine Wolf when combined' Shikamaru got the details about his new summon in his head and learned more about them.

This one is again a little different from the original JJK world, here the divine dogs can combine and separate on will. But upon their death, he has to do the taming ritual all over again.

"Shit, I was so fu*king close to dying there," 

He would have called them back but he couldn't as he almost hit rock bottom on his chakra. 

White and black, let's call them that to keep it simple. While I can call the wolf grey as it's mostly grey in colour.

 "Now if only someone can carry me back home, tch if only. I have to go back on my own.

HOW TROUBLESOME,"
