Chapter 38 : Team 7 Rescue
As Shikamaru emerged from the eerie depths of the Forest of Death, his mind raced with a singular purpose, he had to find Anko and save a sexy waifu turning into what she was in Boruto.
Maybe while he is at it. He should stop the Possibility of Boruto from even happening. Its tempting enough.
"OI oi mind, what are you thinking? You are here to get her help." Shika said to himself as he ran forward.
The snake lady's expertise was crucial in facing off against Orochimaru at least until more help arrived. He only hopes that his clone is not slacking off.
With determination Shikamaru scanned the entrance of the forest, seeking out any sign of Anko who most likely will be eating her Dango. 'One day they will be his Dango. One day... that day will come.

"WTF brain. Not the right time dude."

Spotting her in the distance, he quickened his pace, ready to present his plea.
"Anko!" he called out as he approached her, breathless from his journey.
Anko turned her expression a mix of surprise and curiosity. "What do you want brat, and why are you calling me by my first name? I dont know you, " Anko replied.
"Yeah yeah sorry, Mitarashi san. I'm really in a hurry here." Shikamaru replied getting a little impatient at wasting time.
Shikamaru wasted no time, his words tumbling out in a rush. "We need your help. Orochimaru, I am sure that Orochimaru is in the forest of death. He is going after Team 7."
Anko's eyes immediately shot wide, but the scepticism was still present in her face. "You understand what are you saying? This is not joking matte...?"
"I am not joking. Need your help please." Shikamaru was very firm and confident. Making Anko finally take him seriously.
If there is one person Anko hated more than the Dango guy for not giving him a discount then it will be her old sensei.
"Talk." She said and Shikamaru hearing this immediately acted, knowing that fish is hooked.
Shikamaru, undeterred, outlined the dangers posed by Orochimaru and the importance of Anko's expertise in thwarting his plans.
He spoke with sincerity, appealing to her sense of duty and the shared goal of protecting the village.
Well, he didn't have to considering Anko would have gone after Orochimaru one way or another.
After a moment of consideration, Anko's resolve hardened. "Alright, Shikamaru. I'll join you. But Orochimaru won't go down without a fight."

With Team 7 the battle was long started as Sasuke faced off against Orochimaru, got out of Orochimaru's killing intent by stabbing himself with a kunai but that was just the starting, the real fight was a complete blood bath for Sasuke.
Sakura, watching from the sidelines, could only watch in stunned silence as the two clashed with ferocious intensity.
Sasuke, his movements were fast but when compared to someone like Orochimaru, he was nothing, he unleashed a barrage of lightning-fast strikes against Orochimaru. However, the Pedo snake-like ninja seemed to effortlessly evade each blow, a cruel smirk playing on his lips.
Sakura's heart clenched with worry as she realized the vast difference in power between Sasuke and Orochimaru. Both Choji and Ino, hidden from sight, observed the battle with growing apprehension.
'When he said that it was a criminal shinobi, why didn't he say that its Orochimaru, one of the sannin,' both Ino and Choji cursed at Shikamaru in their minds, what the hell were they supposed to do.
As the fight unfolded, it became painfully clear that Orochimaru was toying with Sasuke, his strength far surpassing the young Uchiha's abilities. Ino and Choji exchanged uneasy glances, torn between their fear and their plan to help Team 7 and delay the enemy until Shikamaru to come with reinforcement.
With a heavy sigh, Ino steeled herself. "We can't just stand here and watch. We have to do something. If we don't then maybe Shikamaru's plan too won't work."
Choji nodded in agreement, his resolve firming. "You're right. Let's go help Sasuke, we at least can delay Orochimaru for a little bit, just like how Shikmaru said right."
With hesitant steps, Ino and Choji emerged from their hiding spot, their hearts pounding with trepidation. Ignoring their fear, they rushed to Sasuke's aid, determined to even the odds against Orochimaru's overwhelming power.

"So what do you think, will you join the village? I promise it will be better than the place you stay." Shikamaru's clone said as he saw Karin slowly start to sway.
"Hmm, you promise that no one will kick me out later," Karin sounded pretty timid. Only after talking with the girl that he realise that although the girl presents tough demiere in front of others internally she is pretty timid.
Very similar to Naruto. Shikamaru won't say that Naruto is timid by any stretch of the imagination but he can say that Naruto too is not as tough internally as he shows to others, he too is a kid and wants companionship and love.
Clone didn't have to but after seeing the red-haired girl he felt bad, the same kind of feeling he had when dealing with Naruto. But this time even more extreme, maybe before he was a girl.
He slowly got close to her, not trying to make any sudden movements. And then took out a medicine.
"Here, put that in the area where you are hurt. I don't know any medical Ninjutsu but this should be enough until we get out of the forest. If left open then your wound will get infected.
And yes, I promise. I will not let anything happen to you. Konoha will be a home to you as long as you want to," Clone said.
Although he didn't have any right to say this considering his current sway in the clan and who his sensei was. He at least had enough confidence that he could keep Karin in Konoha unharmed.
Hearing Shikamaru's sincere words and his confident face, his eyes staring right into hers with promise of a better future.
Karin averted her eyes but still nodded in confirmation. "Oh..O...okay."
Clone did not even notice the small blush creeping up on the cute girl's face.
