2 Enrolling in the Academy

I left my house and started roaming the streets of Konoha with as much enthusiasm as my little 6 year old self can exude. From the Issei Family home, which is the name of my mother's adopted family, now called the Saiya Family home, I had down the street for a few blocks and make it to the main central streets of the village where a majority of the traffic occurs in the village. People are nice enough as it is and would often point and wave at me and point curious stares at my tail. I know I'm an interesting specimen but please don't start too much, I might be flustered! My excitement can be seen from the way my tail is wagging back and forth quickly which causes some of the passerby's to laugh. I'm a dog or an ape?

On the Main Street I pass by the Yamanaka Flower store and the Dango shop, remembering them personally lest I rely on my scouter to find them. I go into the dango shop and buy myself one just to try them out personally. Well worth the money!

"Delish!" I cheer joyfully as I devour and savor the sweetness flooding my mouth before tossing the stick in the trash. I think I even spotted some familiar purple hair in the shop but thought nothing at the time. It would be strange find the crazy snake lady enjoying her dango. I continue my exploration of the village, occasionally stoping to admire some of the more interesting landmarks on the way. The Uchiha District is still occupied by the living and breathing Uchiha clansmen at the moment. Too bad they will be mostly wiped out in about a year or so if my memory of the timeline is correct. I am around the same age as the Rookie Nine so far. In regards to my unusual features, I am most certainly getting some curious looks from the Uchiha District guards so I just pass on by the gates with a wave and carry on. I visit the hospital, the ramen stand, library, aviary, cemetery, hot springs, BBQ shop, Naka Shrine, T&I facility, Anbu HQ. I even visited the Inuzuka Kennels where I was allow to play with some of the young pups, whom had taken an unhealthy interest in using my tail as a chew toy. I am grateful for mom for helping me train my tail so that it was no longer a weakness for me. But even still, having some puppies hanging on and trying to eat my tail is most unpleasant!

By this point I have already explored as much of Konoha as I possibly can and I can honestly tell you that this village is much larger than it had been portrayed in the series, manga or anime. I guess it must have been scaled down to fit in, after all if the series could fully cover everything then we would have at least another 100 or so episodes or chapters. More of the world will open up to me once I gain the ability to fly and I intend to explore as much as possible while tearing shit up.

"I'm home!" I shout out after returning home from my tour of the town to find mom already here.

Arisu: Oh, did you see everything you can today?

"Yeah. The village is huge!"

Arisu: Haha! It is! When I was young I would get myself lost just trying to explore each and every inch of the village. Couldn't sneak past neither the Hyuga or the Uchiha to explore their territory either. Stupid byakugan makes being a sneaky shadow hard.

"I imagine so. I think I explored mainly the important and popular places in town.... and may have accidentally found Anbu HQ, but for confidentiality sake I'll pretend I didn't."

Arisu: Probably for the best.

"Also spotted a very creepy looking bandaged man looking at me strangely at one point. My instincts told me to stay far away from that guy as possible."

Yes I did see Danzo Shimura at one point during my exploration when I was near the Kage Building. The look he was giving me was definitely not one I enjoyed either. I put keeping myself away from Root on my list of things to do in this life of mine.

Arisu: Don't worry about that old man son. Just one insignificant ant that would do well to not mess with certain people.

Yikes! The look in mom's eyes almost reminds me of a wrathful, feral beast. I am guessing that sometime during this month she must have had some pleasant words with him and the Third. Danzo is known to have an interest in special bloodlines and talents, so mom and me must have caught his attention at some point since we returned to Konoha. Mother may have not fully awakened her saiyan potential at this point, but I will definitely ensure that she does before I take my first steps as a genin. If Danzo doesn't like her now then he definitely won't like her later on when she helps keep the Third alive during the Chuunin Exan.

"I'm not worried about some old mummy who reeks of evil plots." I go into the living room and relax on the couch with mom, enjoying some small talk and tea.

Arisu: I have arranged everything so tomorrow your going to be joining the academy. Luckily enough you got put in the elite class. Your paired up with mostly clan heirs and other important kids your age.

"Wonderful...." Seriously!? It would have been nice to sit back and enjoy a normal class. Should I take over the top of the class spot or be so gracious as to let ole Sasuke keep it?

Arisu: Don't be like that. I heard most of the heir kids are easy to get along with. Especially the Nara, Akamichi, and Yamanaka clan kids. Plus I think the Inuzuka kid would get along with you considering most of the pups from their clan enjoyed your company.

"Yeah.... they 'really' enjoy my company. If you consider them trying to eat my tail as good company."

Arisu: Oh please, I'm sure they were just playing with you.

"Why don't you go and find out mom?"

Arisu: Well anyways Rei, I want you to get cleaned up nicely and get ready to go to school tomorrow. A good first impression is always best.

"Whatever... Wonder how easy an early graduation can be?"

Arisu: I know your smart and all but at least make the most of it. Your still only a 6 years old child.

"Fine! I'll hold out and only consider graduating one year early!"

Arisu: Stubborn little monkey...

"Ehehehe!"

After dinner I take a shower and head off to be after cleaning up. The next morning I am woken up by mom and dressed up after cleaning myself . We have a simple breakfast before we head out to the academy. I know I already seen it yesterday but this place is huge. I can even spot the tree with the swing on it where Naruto was seen sitting in the show after he failed the exam. Maybe I'll help him out with his training after graduation and perhaps even throw his one fangirl a bone and nudge him her way...

Arisu: Okay Rei, I want you to head to the teacher's lounge and meet your teacher so he can introduce you to your new class.

"Okay mom. I know what to do."

Arisu: Good. No matter what you do, during any sparring you may do I want you to refrain from breaking your partner. Got it?

" Yes mom I know. I can't help that we Saiya Clansmen have stronger physiques than ordinary people. I can hold back well enough, whether they can hurt me is yet to be determined."

Arisu: Haha! I know what you mean. Even without the Saiya Clan training I received when I met your father years ago, my physique did make it easier to take punches.

I give my mom a huge and rush into the academy along with the stream of other children, waving goodbye as I go. I find the staff room simple enough and meet my classes' instructor who leads me to our classroom. After greeting the class I am called into the class to introduce myself as well as my hobbies.

"My name is Rei Saiya," I greet with a boy. "As for my hobbies I would say training in my clan's old techniques, studying, and exploring. My goal in life so far is the reach my peak in strength and find out why my clan vanished."

Kiba: You have a clan?

Kiba Inuzuka had asked, curious about the now lost Saiya clan. I recognize most of the students in this class from the series. Shikamaru Nara, Choji Akamichi, Shino Aburame, Ino Yamanaka, Hinata Hyuga, the currently not yet broody Sasuke Uchiha, the pink haired Sakura Haruno. Currently the class is lacking a certain Blonde who is possibly cutting class to pull off a prank somewhere.

"Technically yes. They were never from this village, or even country to begin with. They didn't quite feel comfortable among others and preferred seclusion. It's still a mystery where they disappeared to and I highly doubt they just died off."

Kiba: What makes you think that?

"Well... Our people's physique are stronger than average people. Right now my physique is around genin level according to mom." This definitely got an interesting reaction from the other kids. "It's just that I lack enough training to put it to good use."

Ino: Oh!

Ino waves her hand wildly.

"Yes?"

Ino: Is that tail real?

"Um.... Yes." I wave my tail at her as proof.

Ino: What's that on your face?

I rub my scouter softly before answering, "It's called a scouter. It's.... basically a tool specifically constructed for our clan's use, tuned in and bound to the owner by their own blood and chakra nature signature." Geez, since when was Ino such an overly curious girl? After my introduction to the class I am given a seat near the back of the top row right side. The curriculum of the class is far simpler than I had expected. Writing, mathematics, and science has always been easy for me. One advantage of a past life in the bag. Geography, history, and other things I learned from mom as we were traveling. Later lessons were on the proper handling of ninja weapons and tools, like shuriken and kunai through target practice. There were also classes on setting basic traps. We are also taught on the basics of hand seals which I had already went over with mom.

During lunch a few people did approach me, curious about my clan as well as a few other things. Ino had decided to take in interest in my tail and kept tugging and rubbing on it. Damn kids... I am still technically one but it was still annoying. After lunch we all did some outdoor activities, a throwing weapons skill was added to my statistics app.

Throwing Weapon Mastery : 30%.

Guess it got added after I finally got the scouter, but why did it wait so long? Oh well. After that we were paired up into teams for sparring. My first sparring partner was actually Sasuke and I come to find the current weakness I face in my training. Inexperience and lack of mastery of my clan's style. I am actually clumsy and kinda slow, but Sasuke is fast enough to get past my hits and land a few strikes against me. But thanks to my physique his hits don't hurt as much as I expected. We go back and forth until finally the teacher considers our spar a draw. I lack speed and he lacks damage. I guess it's a good trade off for now. My mastery did increase thanks to this spar though.

Primal Ape Fist: 17%.

Basic Kai Movement Technique: 12%.

Proficiency gained a boost when I was in an actual fight. Primal Ape Fist, despite being called a Fist Technique takes advantage of the whole body being a weapon. Punches, kicks, palm strikes, elbows and knee strikes, and even tail strikes are thrown into the picture. Plus the movement technique flows into the style seamlessly like a wild dance. My proficiency is only going to grow faster as the day goes by, so pretty soon I may have to conceal a lot of my abilities just so I don't accidentally hurt my classmates. Today's trip to class was actually pretty nice and I ended up forming a sort of friendly rivalry with the class' top. Too bad in a year it will become more of a hostile rivalry since he will aggressively pursue power. A pity, but I could end up driving his training through the roof if he turns me into a motivator to help him get stronger. Revenge and frustration is good motivation.

The school life is gonna be long and dull, but I do intend to graduate early so I can start doing missions. Can't wait until random encounters are unlocked just so I can get some legitimate experience without having to leave town.
