Father

"Little boy, I finally found you"

Ashiba's eyes were gleaming red, the moment he heard the unknown voice behind him, he turned around, ready to pounce and crack the skull of whomever it was but was surprised at finding out the person who spoke, It was the village chief who had raised him till now.

He looked at the somewhat haggard village chief who looked completely exhausted and said with a calm face and indifferent expression as if he hadn't seen his ravaged village just seconds ago: "how did you get out of there?"

The haggard village chief looked at Ashiba and couldn't help but feel bitter about the soulless reaction this child had, but he was already used to his apathetic behavior since he was born, his abnormally fast growth probably made him unable to develop his cognitive empathy. He also comforted himself thinking that Ashiba probably felt sadness and anger deep down for his fellow villagers, but that he was just not capable of expressing them.

As he thought about the village, the fate of his friends and people he grew up with, he couldn't help but feel an agonising heartache. Even though he didn't have any relatives there, but for him who has seen all those people in the village grow up from the start, he considered them his family.

After calming his overflowing emotions, he said with a hint of fear: "I will tell that later. Let's get out of this miserable place...before those ninjas notice us"

Ashiba nodded and they both quickly made their way out of the surroundings of the battlefield, the more time they spent here, the more likely they're to be caught by the nearby shinobis.

....

....

"I.. went out to get some silver coins from the bank in a nearby town...who knew..when I came back.." said the village chief with a grief filled face, he was on the verge of crying.

'it seems that these are the currencies they use' thought Ashiba as he looked at the sack which the chief carried, it made clunking sounds along the way.

As they went farther and farther away from the battlefield, the sounds of the previous battle also started to decrease.

The village chief looked at the direction of the village one last time with teary eyes before wiping them, he then turned to Ashiba and gazed at him with determination, he said with a resolute face: "I've decided..we will be living in the town from now on."

....

They continued traveling for another hour or so when they finally saw the shadow of the town which the chief was talking about.

The village chief had a look of relief on his face at the sight of this town, he didn't notice a small leg coming behind him at a fast speed.

*Crunch*

He felt a powerful force hit him in the back that launched him to the ground rolling aggressively, he hit a nearby wood tree.

He sensed a bone or two that broke from the impact on his back as he wailed in anguish from the sudden jolt of pain. With much difficulty, he turned his head back and saw Ashiba picking up the fallen silver coins from the ground calmly and putting them in the sack that was apparently thrown out after he got kicked.

Fear and confusion took over the village chief, he said with hysteria: "Child...What..are you..doing!?"

Ashiba ignored him and continued picking up the silver coins scattered on the ground. The longer Ashiba ignored him, the more the village chief grew scared and indignant, he said with an enraged expression: " You disobedient son! How dare you treat your father like this!"

This shocking secret finally cracked an expression on Ashiba's face, as he looked at the village chief deeply and said: "Father?"

Seeing that Ashiba finally stopped ignoring him and had a reaction, the village chief sighed in relief, he maintained a stern expression and said : "Yes...you are my son, otherwise why would I raise the blood of that slut".

"Well, It doesn't matter. You are still a tool whose value has been lost, you're more of a burden instead" said Ashiba indifferently, after digesting this secret, he started walking towards the village chief with the sack of coins held in his hand.

Village chief shuddered in fear as he looked at the child with red hair, he stared at his eyes, Ashiba didn't even show a hint of remorse, the chief felt that this vicious child was looking at a useless tool, not his father. He couldn't accept his incoming fate, he quickly stuttered with a distorted face: "You...you...Demon!I should have killed you the moment you were born in this world!"

But his hysterical muttering didn't stop Ashiba at all. Seeing no other way out, the village chief tried to drag his broken body on the ground, his frail bony hands grabbed the soil and pulled himself as hard as he could. But alas, the demon grabbed the scruff at the back of his neck and stopped his advances with minimal efforts.

He tightened his hand.

*Crack!*

...

Ashiba looked at the broken corpse of the old man with indifferent eyes. He didn't feel excitement about his first murder in this world, it wasn't for the reasons you'd usually expect, an average person would feel remorse, shame, disgust, mental agony at the sin he commited, he would swear to himself atonement for his mistakes.

But it was for a simple reason.

Too weak!

The other person was so weak that killing him couldn't induce a joy in Ashiba's heart..It was only when fighting and killing strong opponents that he could feel that addicting pleasure.

He cleared his thoughts, put the coin sack on his shoulder and made his way towards the town...
