Chapter 1

It had been exactly one week since the defeat of Kaguya and the end of the 4th great ninja war. The shinobi had all returned to their respective villages,the bodies of their fallen comrades buried incense had been burned and now everyone was trying their best to work together too return order to the previously chaotic villages.

Konoha had been one of the least impacted by the war as most of their losses were focused on Genin level shinobi or shinobi that simply did not have enough experience to survive, their greatest lost that Konoha had faced was the loss of both Shikamaru's father, Shikaku Nara and the genius of the Hyuga clan, Neji Hyuga.

In the center of Konaha stood the Hokage tower within it stood six people while one was sitting, Kakashi Hatake, Sakura Haruno, Shizune Kato, Hinata Hyuga, Kurenai Yuhi, Naruto Uzumaki, and the hokage herself Tsunade Senju sitting down with a mountain of paperwork next to her.

Within this one week period they were all given a break from shinobi assignments and helped focus everyone's effort towards the medical centers. They had all gathered to give their reports on how things were progressing.

"Most of the injured have already been healed and discharged from the medical center besides others being heavily injured there have been zero casualties as of yet" Kakashi was the first to give his report.

Sighing to herself Tsunade was about to take a sip from her "water" bottle but just as the rim had touched her lips the bottle had been snatched out of her hands by her glaring apprentice Shizune.

"Tsunade-sama! These are important issues can't you handle this seriously without drinking for once" Taking a sniff of the contents of the bottle she felt herself a professional in the medical field and a master in the arts of poison almost fall over drunk! 'How does she drink this all throughout the day?'

Just as Shizune was about to continue her berating, Naruto stepped forward and slammed his hands against the desk. "Granny when are you going to let Sasuke out!"

The room had suddenly turned into an eerie silence, nobody had spoken, even Sakura the one to normally smack Naruto upside the head for talking to the hokage with such disrespect stood to the sides anxiously waiting for a response.

Raising her hands to her temple tsunade could ruefully sigh with a slight smile a headache was coming and the cause of it was gonna be the brat it front of her.

"Sasuke's circumstances are… difficult. Terrisom, murder, and desertion as a shinobi these are crimes punishible by death im afraid the only reason he is still alive is because of his accompleshments during the war"

A vain had bulged on Naruto's head talking through gritted teeth he tried defending his bestfriend. "Sasuke's changed! He helped us beat Madara and Kaguya didnt he? Without him we'd all be dead, without him Kaguya would have turned each and every one of us into corpses to feed that stupid tree, Withou-"

"Without him we wouldn't have had made enemies with every other village when he attacked during the summit, without him 46 shinobi would have made it back home to their village and to their families, and without him" Standing up and leaning on her desk directly looking into naruto's eyes "YOU WOULD NOT HAVE LOST YOUR ARM!"

Everyone within the rooms eyes seemed to be drawn to the loosely hanging sleeve of Naruto's jacket. Three of the seven people in the room had different expressions compared to the rest, Sakura was looking at Naruto with a mixture of self blame and gratitude, Hinata had only looked at his arm for a second until her gaze landed on his back looking at him with both worry and resolve as she clenched her fists, and lastly Naruto looked at his arm with a complicated expression.

"But-" just as Naruto was about to start another round of arguments a shinobi dressed in the intelligence divisions uniform burst through the door seemingly out of breath.

"Hokage-sama urgent news from the land of waves!"

Visibly tensing everyone in the room awaited what was so urgent that he had to inform the hokage while she was in the middle of a meeting.

Sitting down Tsunade waited for the intelligence division officer to catch his breath. "What is it thats so important that you couldn't have waited to be let in?"

Catching his breath he apologized and bowed to the point where his head had almost hit the floor and reported the Shocking news he had received.

"Th- The Village hidden in the Mist was at- attacked Hokage-sama!"
