[Naruto's Apartment]
After having his breakfast. Naruto entered his study room and opened a safe that was hidden behind a big picture. The safe had an assortment of seals ranging from 'Paralysis' to 'Notification' seals. from the safe, he took a purple gem bracelet. The bracelet had similar seals to that of the necklace he gave his Hinata chan.
'For now, this should be enough for Hinata's safety. But I should visit 'Konoha Library' and copy all the mid-level Fuinjutsu scrolls. So that I can create that artefact.' (A/N: The artefact will be discussed in future chapters.) while thinking all this he put on the bracelet on his wrist. He then locked the safe and after locking his house, he disappeared with a 'Body Flicker'.

[Academy Rooftop]
In a flash, Naruto appeared on the meeting spot and was enveloped in a fierce hug by Hinata. feeling her touch a smile appeared on his face and he hugged her back. "Morning Hinata chan." He said.
Hearing this she looked in his eyes and greeted him with a quick kiss to his cheek. Which caused him to develop a small blush. She smirked at this and they finally separated. Naruto then looked around and to his surprise found Shino and Kurenai staring at them with amusement in their eyes.
Scratching the back of his head in embarrassment, Naruto greeted them. "Good morning, Shino, Kurenai sensei." Shino didn't say anything and just nodded in return, Kurenai, on the other hand, was looking at them with a mirthful smile on her face.
Since everyone was here, Kurenai decided to begin and said. "Today you three will be taking your true Genin exam. The test will take place in training ground 8 that is located behind Hokage's mountain. The first step of your task is to reach there within 5 minutes or you will be sent back to the academy. For any Shinobi speed is very important. With speed you can evade attacks that otherwise might harm you, is that clear." She finished with a serious look on her face, seeing this our trio also became serious and replied in unison. "Hai Sensei."
She nodded at this and said. "After you complete this step I will tell you about the next one. So good luck, your time starts now." And with that, she disappeared in a puff of smoke while thinking. 'Naruto and Hinata both know the 'Body Flicker' which means Shino will be their weakest link, this should probably be enough to find out if they will abandon him or not.'
Hearing her last sentence the trio nodded toward each other and started running toward the Hokage's mountain. Naruto and Hinata were about to use their 'Body Flicker' technique when they realized that if they do that Shino will be left behind. Turning toward Shino who was running beside him Naruto asked. "Shino. Do you how to perform 'Body Flicker' Jutsu". Hearing this Shino shook his head.
"Ok Shino, we don't have much time. So, if it is fine with you I will be using side-along 'Body Flicker' to reach our destination." Said Naruto, Shino contemplated for a moment and decided to ho with the plan, since he doesn't want to be a burden to his team. While thinking all this a faint realization dawned upon him. 'I should increase my training intensity or I will be left in the dirt.' Thinking this far Shino nodded toward Naruto who smirked in return.
Naruto then put his right hand on Shino's shoulder and with a nod toward Hinata, our Trio disappeared.

[Secret Hideout]
In their Hideout, Misui, Yoi and Mayoi were finalizing their plan. "Misui, you will deal with Kurenai Yuhi, remember not to leave any evidence behind," Yoi said in a serious tone he then turned toward Mayoi. "Mayoi, you will capture Hyuuga heiress when she is alone." Mayoi nodded as Yoi continued. "Meanwhile, I will clear our escape route."
The three Kumo Shinobi with a final nod toward each other disappeared in a puff of smoke.
The Pandemonium was about to begin.

[Training Ground 8]
Kurenai was leaning against a tree, when in a flash Naruto, Hinata and a pale looking Shino appeared. just as they landed Shino fell to his knees feeling disoriented. He quickly shook his head to regain his bearings. He then stood up and gave Naruto a side-glare. Seeing his expression a smirk appeared on Naruto's face and he said. "Don't worry Shino, after this exam, I will teach you 'Body Flicker'". Hearing this Shino looked at Naruto for a moment and nodded.
They then looked at Kurenai sensei who was walking toward them. "Good, you finished the first step in time. For the second part of your exam, we will be executing a real-life scenario. In which I will be an enemy ninja that has stolen an important scroll from Konoha and your mission is to catch me and retrieve the scroll. If you can complete the task by noon you will pass your true Genin exam, otherwise, you will be sent back to the academy.
Our favourite trio looked at the scroll with serious expressions. Kurenai then gave them some instruction and advice before asking. "Are you guys ready?" Hearing this the trio nodded and just as Kurenai was about to disappear, she felt something and with a flick of her hand caught a bug. She smiled at Shino who was now frowning. "Good thinking Shino but be more covert next time." And with that, she disappeared in a puff of smoke.
Seeing her disappearing, Naruto began thinking and a plan started to form in his mind. looking toward Shino he said. "Shino if I am not wrong your Kikaichu bugs can sense redundant Chakra, right." Shino nodded at this and Naruto continued. "Ok, then command your bugs to follow the redundant trail of chakra left by Kurenai sensei, that will give us the general idea of where she went." Hearing this Shino buzzed and from his sleeves, several small black bugs came out. They then took off to scan the surroundings.
Naruto then looked at Hinata and asked. "Hinata chan, what is your Byakugan's range right now?". She looked at him and replied. "Naruto kun, Currently I can see up to 500 Metres in all directions." He nodded and said. "Hinata chan, when Shino find Kurenai sensei's general location, you will use your Byakugan to pinpoint her location." She nodded with a smile and thought. 'Oh! My God Naruto kun is so smart.'
"After that, I will use my 'Echolocation Jutsu' to make a blueprint of our surrounding. Then we will move accordingly." He finished and everyone nodded.
Moments later all the bugs except one returned to Shino and went inside him. Shino looked at his teammates and said. "There is a Chakra trail in Northeast direction." Naruto nodded. They then followed the Kikaichu bug and disappeared in the dense forest.

[Forest]
Following the trail, they reached a big clearing and stopped. "What is it Shino?" asked Naruto. "From this point, the trail diverges into three different directions." Explained Shino.
Naruto frowned hearing this and thought. 'She must have 'Shadow Clone Jutsu' to throw us off, she has way more experience then me and if I send clones they will be killed.' Looking toward his teammates he made a decision and said. "Shino, have two more Kikaichu bugs follow the other trails, Hinata you take the right trail, Shino you go for the left one and I will follow our original trajectory. Shino since I will not be there to scan the surroundings, a 'Shadow clone' of mine will be following you to perform 'Echolocation'. Same goes for you Hinata chan, just in case."
"If any of you find sensei the clone that is going with you will expel itself. The memory feedback from the clone will inform me and my other self about it." Shino and Hinata nodded hearing this and looked at him with respect.
Naruto then made a Ram seal and in a puff of smoke two 'Shadow clone' appeared beside him. with a final look towards each other they separated and followed their respective trail. (A/N: Guys, Separating never ends well.)

[With Hinata]
She along with 'her' Naruto Kun's clone followed Shino's Kikaichu bug and ended up in a small clearing. She then activated her Byakugan, looking around she saw Kurenai sensei hidden behind a 'camouflage Genjutsu'. As she was about to attack a thought suddenly appeared in her mind. she wasn't sure whether it was Kurenai sensei or her clone. Moving toward Naruto's clone she told him about the problem.
Hearing this the clone thought for a while and a smile appeared on his face, facing Hinata he explained. "Hinata chan, it is been a while since Kurenai sensei made these clones. Her Chakra reserve should have recovered to some extent by now. So if it is a clone then its Chakra reserves should be around one-third of Kurenai sensei's reserves." Hearing this she smiled and asked him to find out.
Nodding his head Naruto put his hands together and released a Chakra pulse to scan his close surroundings. Moments later he got the feedback and an image was projected in his mind. After examining the Image he sighed and said to Hinata to Hinata. "It's a clone Hinata chan."
Hearing this she sighed and said, "Very well then, we should deal with quickly and return to our team. Naruto kun you attack sensei's clone from the left while I will sneak up from behind." He nodded at this and they disappeared with a 'Body Flicker'.

Kurenai's clone saw her students disappearing and felt a presence behind her. Quickly turning around "Clank" she blocked Naruto's attack. They then looked into each other's eyes and with a silent agreement started fighting.
Sometime later it became clear that Kurenai's clone was much stronger, she was about to pierce his hand when out of nowhere in a burst of speed Hinata appeared behind her and before she could react, she was slammed by a Chakra enhanced palm causing her to puff out of existence.
After dealing with the clone Hinata looked at Naruto with a small smile on her face. Naruto returned the, with a nod toward Hinata he was about to expel himself when out of nowhere a kunai pierced his heart and disappeared in a puff of smoke.
Realizing what just happened, Hinata quickly turned around and parried a hail of Shurikens. She then looked toward the direction from where the attack came and saw a man with Kumogakure forehead protector.
Seeing the Kumo ninja her face went pale as the memories of the incident when she was almost kidnapped came crashing down on her mind like a landslide. Taking a deep breath she calmed herself down.
Noticing the ruthless look in his eyes, she prepared herself for the upcoming battle. If her Byakugan was right then her opponent was a mid-Chunin rank Shinobi.

Mayoi looked at the Hyuuga heiress with a ruthless look in his eyes, he then with a thought disappeared from where he was standing.
