Chapter 77: Rewards

The Mizukage's tyrannous reign has to be stopped, you have been tasked with causing chaos in Kirigakure and defeating the Mizukage.

Hidden objectives: Break the Mizukage out of his Genjutsu, fend off Uchiha Obito.

Naruto looked at the quest and at all the rewards that he got, they were quite good if he said so himself, especially the upgrade cards, they would be key in making himself incredibly strong, he still needed to think about what to use them on though, as he had many options, and he even wanted to experiment a bit with them, if possible.

Naruto opened his status and looked at his stats, he was quite impressed with himself, he had become quite strong these last few months as he had quite a bit of time to grind and to level up.

Naruto nodded to himself and a minute after he finished checking out his rewards and his status a few people approached him.

"Naruto-san! What happened to Yagura?" Mei ran to Naruto and asked.

Naruto turned to Mei and answered, "Well Yagura won't be a problem anymore, we should worry about any of his remaining followers and fanatics, there are a lot of people that now believe that people with bloodlines are lesser than them, and that they should be killed, those will be the main cause of your problems." Naruto said while smiling at Mei.

Mei's eyes practically glowed and she launched herself at Zabuza who was standing next to her, "Zabu! We did it!" She shouted, ripped off the bandages around his face and kissed him.

Naruto stared at them awkwardly for a second but smiled at them and decided to leave them be and go and help out in taking down the remaining forces of the now free Yagura, other's did not need to know that he was still alive though, Naruto wanted the man to have some time for himself, maybe he'd need his help later on so he didn't mind letting Yagura go.

Naruto walked around the village a few hours after everything calmed down and looked at all the ruined buildings, his revolutionary forces completely destroyed the city, they had to be taken down as the ninja had been broken out of the Genjutsu Naruto had put them in, quite sadly quite a few had to be killed as they were far too dangerous to let live.

After making sure everything in Kirigakure had calmed down Naruto headed to the medical camps that had already been set up and found Sasuke laying on a bed looking dumbly at the rood of the medical tent.

"You got knocked out quite quickly." Naruto said while he chuckled.

"Hmpf, Yagura simply got the jump on me, the next time will be different." Sasuke replied while he chuckled as well, luckily he hadn't inherited the usual Uchiha arrogance, otherwise Naruto would have had to beat it out of him.

"Well hopefully there won't be a next time, I took care of Yagura but there is some things that we will have to talk about, specifically about things concerning you and your clan, but that will have to happen some other time, for now I am going to go and help out healing whoever needs it, so have some rest, after we're done here we'll go and pick up Shino and after that we're going back to Konoha, the Chunin exams are starting in a month so we're gonna have to prepare stuff for that." Naruto said to Sasuke and left to go help others.

The remainder of Naruto's day was spent using the Mystical palm Jutsu and even performing a surgery on a shinobi of the rebellion who had one of his hands completely crushed which Naruto needed to piece back together, thankfully it was easy with the help of a few clones.

The following day Naruto and Sasuke said goodbye to everyone and congratulated Zabuza on his win, he was destined to be a happy man after all.

They traveled to the border between the Land of Water and the Land of Fire and met up with Shino who had disassembled his communication system and taken all his insects with him, they had agreed to meet up at a certain village from which they would travel all the way back to Konoha withing a day or at most two.

In the end it took them a day and a half to reach Konoha, it's giant gates shining underneath the sun.

Naruto and his team were glad to finally be back, they had seen a lot of things over the last few months and done a few things that they were not proud of, war was messy and often not as black and white as it was made out to be, even if you were considered to be the good side you still had to do some pretty terrible things, there were certainly no winners in war, there were only winners of battles, everyone lost something in war after all.

The first thing that the team did was go to their families, they had missed them dearly and it would be comforting to them to see them after so long.

Naruto also needed to have a chat with Sasuke and Fugaku about Uchiha Obito and he needed to ask them about the Mangekyo Sharingan, he wanted to know if they knew about it's risk and whether they had it or not.
